Realistic? A game about fighting zombies and skeletons where you can travel to other dimensions to fight dragons and flying ghost-like squids? Are you serious?
Setting up a decent xp grinder takes just a couple of minutes, whereas farming 576 slime balls, even if you spend several hours every day, can take weeks. It is not worth it at all.
When horses were added, did people say that they added new intricate game mechanics?
They didn't. They neither added new mechanics, nor structures, nor items, nor anything else than just that: horses. Simple. Your idea though is overly complicated
As you could see, they never added anything more complex than an item or a feature that doesn't interfere with the rest of the game or the gameplay at all. So why would they want to implement your overly complex idea? Because you're special? To them you are just another player, like virtually everyone else, and if your idea doesn't meet their standards they are not going to use it, and that is it. Stop floundering and instead try to propose something that they might consider feasible. How much time ago did they promise they were gonna add your dragon into the game? Two years! And they did nothing. So there you go.
If you want dragons added to the game, make a freaking post about adding dragons to the game, not about new structures, new items, new potions and new stuff that is completely useless right now because dragons are not even there.
1: Suggest adding dragons to the game.
2: Once dragons exist, suggest adding features to them.
Not the other way around.
Instead, discuss how adding dragons would affect the gameplay, the benefits, the issues, make a FAQ, explain that they aren't OP because they don't give you any advantages, etc. If you want to.
Bear in mind that developers only add very simple features into the game, to where the changes improve Minecraft but don't change its mechanics, so it doesn't end up turning into a whole different game. My suggestion for your idea to succeed: eliminate all items, structures, potions and mobs and leave just two things: one dragon and one way to get it. Adding three new structures for the sole purpose of allowing one mob to spawn, eight items obtainable solely from a single mob which is in addition very rare and extremely hard to kill plus a ton of intricate new game mechanics just for the sake of the mob mentioned before is really a very bad idea.
I would suggest these two options:
Once you beat the Ender Dragon and you get the dragon egg, you can use it to breed your own dragon, and eventually ride it.
Dragons are an extremely rare spawn which you can find in any part of the world, either flying or on the ground. You can try to kind of befriend them in some way, if you fail they fly away and despawn.
As for the villagers, maybe you were near the village enough one night to have zombie spawn and reach the villagers, who couldn't reach doors and get to safety.
Nope, i got there on my first day, and there were no villagers

Actually this works with wheat too, which is what you would normally use unless you are playing in creative.

Yesterday, while roaming around aimlessly, I came across this village, which looked kinda weird:
These two buildings had their doors too high.
These two buildings' doors were under the ground.
Besides, no villagers spawned in this village.
