May i ask where you are buying this? My family are starting to get more into gaming, but our house is almost full and we can only fit a PS4,not even a xbox one,and the alpha is almost as small as my iPad
I was looking around, and I saw the Alienware Alpha for $400 w/ a $70 rebate. The specs are actually pretty decent (i3-4130T, GTX 860M, 4GB Ram, Windows 8.1)
Any thoughts about it? Considering windows costs $90 alone, an i3, 4gb, GTX 860m sounds amazing for $240
Considering a laptop with similar specs are upwards of 800$ and it cost less than a console, sure
Being the owner of a system with ubuntu 14.04,i can say it depends,if the games you need are on linux, choose linux,if you have games that are not on linux, choose windows
Well,it have not crashed the whole os yet,but minecraft would freeze if trying to switch connected textures off or fast,so i'm stuck with fancy (optifine 1.8.4). And used a command to enable desktop icons
So i deleted mom's laptop hard drive accidentaly, and installled ubuntu on it,and since then,it booted at the speed of a average ssd, crashed wayyy less in minecraft, supported opengl 2.0,unlike windows (really intel?),which only supported opengl 1.4,but at the cost of being sligtly more finicky (why can't i put icons on the desktop?)
BTW I am using Gnome minimal (barely any bloatware) desktop
i know some people celebrate it on feb and some in this month, like us,but What's your mother's day gift?
Mine is a CD with Ubuntu designed for CD's,since i did something in my mom's pc (trying to dual boot windows vista and ubuntu) but deleted the os accidentaly when using a third party app for partitions,i will then download windows 10 or pirate windows 8.1 (the reason i tried to dual boot is because linux had support for opengl 2.0,while windows only supported opengl 1.5 for windows (thanks intel (BTW:my pc has intel core 2 duo with a intel gma 4 something )
So i am getting slightly more slower internet every week and every speedtest,i get the SAME speed of 3.5 mbps down, and 0.5 up,and the modem is some thomsom gateway crap sent by our IPS,b/g wifi, bad wifi coverage
so i though of getting a new router/modem,100$ budget, and the house is a small apartament with 1-2 foot thick cement :/
