    Hey Strength,

    Since you want to do something different, perhaps you could make something on a chest/furnace? I'm kind of past minecraft modding - there's just only so much you can do that's original, ya know? - but I've got 3 or 4 people waiting on me to explain the furnace code. :rolleyes:

    ...I've had this problem before, your pictures are in the correct .jar, right? If you can't get it to work when it's in a folder, or when it's outside of the folder, just delete MCP and start over. You can keep your source files, obviously. Had this happen once in 1.5, I think, and that fixed it for me.

    Like I said, that's what I remembered, I really haven't messed with any base classes in a couple of months. I'm not sure what he's trying to do, so I just threw that out there. Either way, the best approach when trying something new that is advanced, is looking around and immersing yourself in the code.

    But anyway, thanks Dread, you just now inadvertently gave me some ideas! and also for explaining what python is, in a different thread....

    How do you know if you want it? You haven't even played it yet! Personally I think once the simplicity of it goes out, he will lose some people, but certainly the world of minecraft will gain, no?

    I have a quick question: how can you link a certain event with a button? (For example, if I press "X", then "Y" will occur.)

    Well, if I recall correctly keybindings are in GameSettings.java. Have a look around there if you want.
    If not, you just do what DreadKyller said, EntityPlayer.java will teach you a lot if you read and pay attention.

    I believe you just forgot to end one of your constructors. You have this;

    public mod_Silver()
    {
    ModLoader.RegisterBlock(SilverOre);
    SilverOre.blockIndexInTexture = ModLoader.addOverride("/terrain.png", "/Mods/SilverOre.png");
       ModLoader.AddName(SilverOre, "Silver Ore");

    public String Version()
       {
       return "1.7_02";
       }

    You just need this;

    public mod_Silver()
    {
    ModLoader.RegisterBlock(SilverOre);
    SilverOre.blockIndexInTexture = ModLoader.addOverride("/terrain.png", "/Mods/SilverOre.png");
       ModLoader.AddName(SilverOre, "Silver Ore");
    }
    public String Version()
       {
       return "1.7_02";
       }

    See the difference? It should be fixed. Whenever you get the "file ended while parsing" error, just all your constructors to make sure they have a definite beginning and end :smile.gif:

    Actually, you need to wait for the new version of MCP before those files should make any sense.

    @cow, change this;

    int randPosZ = chunkZ = rand.nextInt(20);

    to this;

    int randPosZ = chunkZ + rand.nextInt(20);

    That's the only thing that could be possibly be wrong, as far as I know. If that's not it I'd love to know what is :tongue.gif:

    @Pablo, I've never had that error so I don't know. Chewy and NeonLights have had more experience than me, they'll probably know it. My only guess would be some ID conflicts.

    Sorry Limbless, but after reviewing, I was going to leave you for if someone wasn't going to show. Or be able to.

    I will let you help when we're in a jam through art if it happens.

    Hey dude no problem, that's actually what I was trying to say :wink.gif:
    Like I said I'm really busy anyways, I'm yet to devote myself to learning everything I should.

    im going to be very happy when this reaches Beta v1 so i can push out the source code. i think once the beta source gets out we'll be seeing some pretty cool mods :biggrin.gif:

    programming is a learning experience and i think that the source to this could benefit the mc modding community alot :smile.gif:

    Hey Beu,

    Just wanted to say, love the progress you guys are making! and heck yes! Big projects like this having their source code released...YES! (I dunno what to say other than that :dry.gif: )
    Continue being an inspiration to us all :smile.gif:

    Specializing in: Coding
    Mainly codes (If coder): Blocks, Error reports
    Mainly creates (If artist): Concept art :smile.gif:
    Username: LimblessQuasar
    Coding experience: A good amount, not a whole lot with MC or java though.
    Art experience: I make concept art for lots of cool things...This would be a "maybe I will" sometime later. I don't like 16-bit artwork :tongue.gif:

    Essentially, I can help here and there with lots of things, and if I really get into the idea, I will try to put all of my time and effort forth. I'm usually pretty busy with other things, so maybe best to leave me as a last option for that 5th spot.

    I've never glanced at that code before, but I don't think I will have to after this :smile.gif:

    Well first off, if you updated, there is no way it would work :smile.gif:

    Secondly, I've not seen world generation like this...Are you really able to generate both tankiteore and tankite?

            public void GenerateSurface(World world, Random rand, int chunkX, int chunkZ)
                    {
                            for(int i = 0; i < 40; i++)
                                    {
                                            int randPosX = chunkX + rand.nextInt(20);
                                            int randPosY = rand.nextInt(200);
                                            int randPosZ = chunkZ = rand.nextInt(20);
                                            (new WorldGenMinable(tankiteore.blockID, 30)).generate(world, rand, randPosX , randPosY , randPosZ);
                                            (new WorldGenMinable(tankite.blockID, 5)).generate(world, rand, randPosX , randPosY , randPosZ);

    randPosY should equal 128, right? Since the world is 128 blocks high? I would guess this is your problem.

    Quote from KillerBunnys122

    You realize that Minecraft is still beta?

    ****ing moron. (I don't actually mean this I'm just joining in with the trend! :biggrin.gif:)

    Moving on...

    Notch does do Bug fixes WITH the new content. Sure the new content also makes more bugs but whatever.

    What I think is they should be working on 1.8 but continue updating until then with more and more bug fixes! :smile.gif:
    Instead of yay new content, yay some little patches. NO MORE FIXING ANYTHING UNTILL NEXT UPDATE! and that brings more bugs still.

    My final word is. Don't bother bitching, is not gonna help. Enjoy MC or play something else. :tongue.gif:

    (This forum has enough tiny little baby men)

    Whoever and wherever you are, you will from this day forth be close to my heart xD
