@Lilyo, if it is this sunday then I'd better get cracking! I have to finish at least all the ores, logs, wool, wooden door, furnace and maybe the redstone too because it's quick.
I dont even think I can finish by Sunday lol. We should get another extension :tongue.gif:
I suggest we have till Sunday night EST to submit our packs in and then Monday you put a poll up with all the packs and leave the voting to continue till the next weekend, which would be when you announce the winner. Hopefully I'll be able to get most of the pack done by this weekend :tongue.gif:
Hey guys, I need your opinions on these. Im thinking of doing a 32x texture pack completely made with dithering techniques. This is what I have so far, they're tiled 2x2 so you can see them next to each other (yes, i notice the small tiling issue on the tnt. Ill fix it later.) But i want to know, would you use a texture pack of this style? Id rather know if its gunna get downloads before I go and finish most of the terrain.png
Edit: Bottoms cobble, not smooth.
Looks ok i guess but you're not really using dithering correctly. You're applying one medium shade and then just placing darker shades of that color over it which makes the texture look very flat and boring. As a rule of pixel art remember that when choosing shades you almost always need to change the hue to get good shadows and highlights. Just changing the brightness isn't enough.
I'm not too good at dithering myself so here's my quick failed attempt at trying to redo your cobblestone, and btw, this isn't dithering.
All I did is used stronger contrasts between the shadows, midtones, and highlights (don't just put dots of dark or lights over the middle shade) and changed the colors to make it more visually appealing.
It would be great if you could add a link to the pack-related thread under each entry. So users could get new information about updates or giving feedback and support to the authors.

Also, tried leaves again but I still don't like them. Also other stuff ~

Make the shapes more defined. You can barely understand what's happening right now.

Not without my permission you're not.
We've decided to continue this. We'll hopefully have a release out by next year, so we have time to work on it during winter break.

Your colors are also really contrasted and I would just blatantly call them ugly and unappealing. Btw, here's a good tutorial on choosing colors and shades
