    Age, 15+ no exceptions: 17

Do you plan on recording on the server?: No

What do you like about Minecraft?
What I enjoy most about Minecraft is the freedom the game allows you to have. A sandbox game as large as Minecraft gives players no correct way to play the game, only ways that are fun. Building, adventuring, pvp'ing, and challenges are all different ways to play the game, but the most alluring to me is the challenge. Although Minecraft is not a challenging game in itself there are many ways for the player to push themselves. Whenever I play Minecraft, my main goal is to build big and build everything. I enjoy pushing myself to make impressive structures and farms within the game.

What do you consider your best skills in Minecraft?: I consider my best skills in Minecraft to be my overall determination and perseverance. I've spent a large portion of my time playing this game on a raiding server where I was the faction leader of a well-respected faction. I was the one responsible for the overall design of the base, the grueling collection of obsidian, sand walls, water walls etc, and when my base was raided (and trust me we were raided or at least attempted frequently) I would always bounce back and make a bigger better base. This mindset carries on with me when I play regular survival and I tend to aim large, as stated before, and really push for every new base to be better than the last.

I also believe myself to be a solid team player that is interested in learning. I'm more than willing to work together with others on projects and help others when they need it. I have what I would consider an above-average understanding of Minecraft, but I know that there is still much more for me to learn about the game, especially on the tech-savvy side. I understand redstone basics and mob spawning and all that jazz, but I really want to learn about the in-depth stuff that allow the people on the zipkrowd server to completely optimize their grinders. How the game code works is what I would like to learn if given the opportunity to play.

*What do you consider your weakness in Minecraft?: Well, nobody is perfect and it wouldn't be fair for me to only highlight myself in a positive manner. If you're going to accept me onto your server then you should know the entire package. Whenever I have play vanilla Minecraft I usually try to build many things by myself, but this requires a large investment of time and typically causes me to burn out quickly (a couple of months). This is why I plan to take a different approach when playing on this server, and that is to focus much more intensely on the community aspect. I'm always friendly and approachable on a server, but I tend to isolate myself from the others in physical distance. I don't want to isolate myself on this server as I have in others because it will needlessly make it more difficult on myself, and instead I want to enjoy the community aspect and work together with everyone even more than I have on other servers.

Why should we let you join Witch Craft?: I believe that you should allow me to join the Witch Craft server because I possess the drive to work hard and contribute. As I mentioned before I was a part of a great faction on a Raid server and everyone there was good friends and we all made our jokes and had a great time. Within that server I would say that I successfully formed a community. Everyone in my faction worked hard towards our goals, and there was nothing I took more pride in on that server than working together with my faction mates and making an awesome, completely legitimate obsidian base consisting of thousands of obsidian blocks. What I'm trying to say is that I love working with a community on large projects and reaping the benefits together. I also know two of your current members, Vmac and Fishy. I played with these two on their own server and enjoyed playing with them because they had a fantastic understand of Minecraft and how to "succeed". I believe I too am one of these types of players and will fit right in with everyone else.

How often will you be playing?: I expect to be able to play at least once a day every day for a couple of hours. I'm currently a senior in high school, and academics do come "first" (Typically last due to procrastination but hey, it gets done right?). Obviously some days will vary due to school, sports, clubs etc.. but I expect to be an active member.

What is your history in Minecraft?: I started playing MC before one had the luxury of a cushy pillow, red-woven blankets, and safety at night, so around Beta 1.3-1.4 If I recall correctly. My actual history within the game and what I've done I'll leave in a spoiler in case you are interested

My History goes something like this:
    SSP

    Friends Vanilla Server

Savage Realms Towny Server - Regular Towny server, this was my first experience with a really large server involving many players. I enjoyed it a great deal, but I prefer a smaller server with a community.

Savage Realms Raids Server - I played on this server for several versions (each version lasting approximately 6 months) I played for almost all of Version 1, and a good deal of Version 3. I was the faction leader of the faction Vortux, and we were a 100% legitimate faction on the server (or at least I pushed everyone in my faction to be legit, but I may have missed some dupers). Such an example is when a admin joined my faction on an alt, and I destroyed his entire stash of Sharp 4 duped swords he was allowed due to his status as admin because I believe in fair play. Anyways, I was heavily active on this server for a large portion of my Minecraft life.

Redux Survival Server - This is where I met Vmac and Fishy, two members that are currently apart of your server. I think I played on here for about a month or so until eventually I got burnt-out from playing too much MC and decided to take a break.

Fall Damage UHC - When I came back to MC after my break I joined another vanilla server, except this one had the UHC plug-in. I'm not sure exactly how long I played on this server for, but it eventually died out when the owner mysteriously vanished. We're still not quite sure where he went.
I haven't played MC after Fall Damage so this will hopefully be the next server on my list.

Give us an example(s) of your Minecraft creations; builds, redstone creations, screenshots, videos?: Unfortunately this is really tricky for me. I don't play SSP because I "need" to play with other people, and as a result all of my creations are on past servers that I have played on. Also, I don't tend to take screenshots because I assume that my creations will be there the next time I log on. I do have some builds from a long time ago that "showcase" some of what I built, but I can assure you I know more than what these offer. Anyways here are some screenshots that are over a year old.

The obsidian related pictures are apart of my faction base and the other was a small portion of my base on the survival server. Unfortunately I don't have pictures of the finished product as the survival server is down, and I'm not longer apart of the raid server.
Note, I pulled these pictures straight from my application to the Redux server because I do not posses any new pictures of anything I've built.

Write a paragraph (or paragraphs) about yourself? Well, I would like to make mention that I have created many different variants of minecraft farms. Automatic wheat farms, cocoa farms, blaze grinders, endermen grinder, item grinder, villager-breeding and trading stations etc.

Outside of Minecraft I'm an "academically-talented" student. I'm pretty excited to be accepted into all of my colleges that I applied to (Including Carnegie Mellon University and Northeastern University, if you know about them then you'll know they are well-respected universities). I'm a varsity captain of the tennis team at my school, and chess team, but all that school-related stuff is boring. I've been playing on computers since I was 2, and I've been playing video games from age 4, so they've been a big part of my life. I hope to major in computer engineering and work in the field of video game design/development if possible. I also enjoy and respect athleticism in general as well as Parkour. I consider myself a jack-of-all-trades kind of a person. I'm fairly good at a lot of different things, but I can always find a friend who is better than me in at least one.

Any other questions you may have: I do have questions, but I'll learn the answers if given the opportunity to join the server. Otherwise the questions can just be tossed away if rejected.

    * = Added the question into the application

Well, I hope that you guys find me a good fit, and maybe Vmac and Fishy will chip in a good word :) . Thanks for reviewing, I hope it wasn't too length as it took me quite awhile to write haha. (I hope I didn't miss one of those 'put oranges are great in your application' types of requirements. I checked the post like 3-4 times looking for one, but couldn't find it, would suck to get denied for that)

posted a message on [CTM][Collection] Vechs' SUPER HOSTILE Series (Spellbound Caves II out now!)
Wow I just typed up this post and accidently clicked off the link and wasted an entire 15 minutes. Pretty disappointing to be honest that I need to rewrite it. And now I can't restore the old one because of this.... awesome.

Just completed Super Hostile #14 Waking Up. Pretty good map but some aspects were disappointing and others were really hard, but not what you think :D What I thought of the zones and the map as a whole.

Note that I play on HARD at ALL times.
Trees of Fun: This area was pretty easy as long as you had the torches to light up all the spawners quickly, but the monsters can get overwhelming. I ragequit this map when I died to the tnt tree trap my first time and had to come back to it a couple weeks later because I thought it was the biggest piece of ******** ever.

Groove of Ssshrooms: Was upset over the placement of the book because I had to have a creeper blow up to find it. Didn't really enjoy the creepers falling from the ceiling because it made it really hard to light everything up and a Rambo style seemed to be much more effective rather than going slowly. It was very easy to run across the room to get the wool and run back without dying, so I think any area should be long enough where this isn't a truly viable option.

Boomer Castle: Definetely one of the most challenging areas of the map for the current content. I try to do everything intersection by intersection because that is the way the map was designed. The constant barrage of creepers favored lava bucket playstyle and the end zone was very hard to deal with if you went directly at it. I found it very easy to bypass however and I think that these two polar opposites shouldn't exist in one area. It was really hard to get the enchanting table on my first try of the map, but by using a lava bucket instead of harming/posion potions it was really easy. Too easy to be honest. The bookshelves allowed light to be spread throughout the entire room.

We All Float: Was a pretty easy area to deal with. Caused some trouble if you get stuck on the brewing stand island because all the mobs can easily overwhelm you quickly. Otherwise this area wasn't very hard.

    Intersection 2
Blast Arrow Castle: Died once here due to a stupid mistake, the tnt traps were a bit annoying and surprising. Blowing up the bridge was cool, but I had mixed feelings about it. I'm curious as to how you made it so we can't disable the tnt and instead always have to trigger it. This area was pretty easy if you used the items given because the mobs died so quickly.

Legion Halls: Was a bit of a pain at the current content level. The silverfish were a huge pain to deal with because I didn't have a weapon that was capable of killing them in one shot. That made this area harder than it should have been. Came back here with full diamond armor to find the book and had absolutely no problems with it.

Helix Cavern: Was pretty easy due to natural spawning. The tnt traps and blazes weren't a trouble at all for me and didn't find this area to be a threat. Didn't like how it was so large, but seemed to be lacking in rewards for its size although I could of just never found them.

Helix Depths: The creepers made this area extremely hard. The lava underneath the ground also was troublesome. I died a couple times here due to the creepers but once I was able to push through them and get to the zombies it become much easier.

    Intersection 3
The Nest: Was really easy to go along the walls instead of staying in the middle. The end was troublesome due to all the ghasts and creepers that were spawning and tunnel ratting was my only option to get to the wool.

Frozen Venom: The name didn't have much to do with the zone considering it was about TnT for the most part. Was pretty nervewracking to deal with all that tnt around you, but enderpearls made it easier. I was upset over the placement of the wool because I was able to find it when a TnT trap exploded instead of the original way, unless that was the way you were supposed to fnd it, but I thought I saw a path that led to the area.

We All Burn: Was really just a giant mob fest and was very easy to avoid all difficulty of it by tunneling above the area. Was much more feasible too considering sticking to one wall was the best way to get rid of all the spawners but there were so many it was pointless. I liked the placement of the wool and it provided a huge risk.

    Intersection 4
Hissing Sand: Easily my favorite and least favorite zone of them all. I really really liked the concept behind it and thought it was really cool, the lava at the top was very unneeded in my opinion because it was more annoying than a realy threat. However, the creepers had such a large explosiong range and this area was so huge that I got tired of it quickly, but overall it was a really cool area.

Deathshallow Ruins (Lower): I thought this was one of the harder areas due to the skeletons and creepers combined with water made fighting a hard task. not only that but the only real option was to fight them due to the placement of the wool and the spawners. I liked the area overall, but I found the only way to deal with the area was to take it on each island at a time, and wall each island 2 blocks high to prevent blocks from reaching me. Took me awhile to find the wool due to me being stupid.

Deathshallow Ruins (Upper): Was a really cool area, but was kind of easy. Was expecting to see a lot more spawners in the walls instead of natural spawning. If the entire zone had been more like the way it was when trying to get that amazing bow you had enchanted it would of been more fitting to be at intersection four, otherwise this area and boomer castle should of been swapper on difficulty.

Inventory Wipe Horror Festival: Was actually disappointed at this area, because I thought it was going to be a lot harder than it was. Fire resist potions made getting to the red wool a total joke. The only *tough* part was the skeleton spawners. I completelty expected the ghast spawners in the walls to be attacking you as you attempted to take on this area, and that would of actually made this area a red wool difficulty. Skeletons would of been a much better substitue than blazes were. Rows of skeleton spawners in the ceiling that feel and shot you as they fell down is what it should of been. Because fire resist potions completelty gimp this area it really wasn't lived up to expectations. The black wool was a bit better, but not by much. The ghast spawners again were not much of a threat because the platform was so small and they missed almost every shot. I had no trouble with ghasts the entire time i was in the nehter except when one shot and f'ed up my portal (that was a huge bummer). Getting to the black wool was easier than I expected and I think that there should of been more diamonds in this map. The setup of the black and red wool made bringing your best gear a really stupid idea. One mistep meant you lost your inventory, but that really means that there is no reason to use any of the good gear that has been leading up to this area. I did die at least 10 times to this area, but 5 of them were stupid deaths such as jumping into the abyss or taking too much fall damage, and none of my deaths actually felt punishing because there was so much stuff i had already collected from this zone, and this zone did not require the good gear to beat it. The bedrock maze in legendary didn't require good gear, but it was much harder to do it without it because the monsters would really hurt. Overall this area was not as hard as I thought it was going to be and I was disappointed with that.

    Some Tips for this map:

    1. Use potions they're your friends. Regen, fire resist, health, harming etc.. will make this map much easier.
    2. Steal from the potion dispenser.
    3. When taking on Boomer Castle, use lava to get to the enchantment tables easily.
    4. To get a lot of EXP, go to the VM and the door making machine. Make a platform above the ceiling out of anything silverfish CAN'T get into. Then break some of the ceiling and throw down some posion potions. Once there are a lot of silver fish throw down some harming potions and rake it in.
    5. To make a really effective EXP farming machine, go to Deathshallow Ruins (Lower). Use the fire resist skeletons to farm exp quickly. They only have 2 hearts of damage so a 6 drop fall will leave them with 1/2 heart and a fist or stone sword or anything should kill them. Vechs also modified this spawner to spawn the skeletons rapidly so this is really effective.
    6. A lot of the map is tunnel rattable, and if your goal is to beat it with minimum deaths take advantage of it.
    7. Fire resist potions are needed for the Red/Black wools and make them a joke.
    8. Lava and Water buckets in tight enclosed areas push monsters away allowing you to light up the area or kill them with your bow. You can hide in a corner and use this tactic to keep zombies away from you and all other monsters (except maybe spiders I'm not sure). This works amazing well in the zombie spawning area of Helix Depths.
    9. Always have a secure path to the VM from whatever zone you are in. Don't take the wool if you didn't light up anything in the area before it
    10. Watch out for vech's invisible ladders. They'll stop you from using enderpearls, but they won't stop you from bridging. I didn't notice any area where he used this ladders as a TnT trap, but if you trigger the ladders to fall run away and wait 30 seconds. If no TnT falls you're safe.
    11. A lot of the map can be completed with only iron/chain armor. Diamond armor isn't needed.
    12. At intersection 2 there is a secret chest. Look down to find it :D .
    That's all for now

    My VM

I also got really lucky at the end of the map. I was aiming to get silk touch and fortune 3 so I could get a lot more diamonds than Vechs' provided. I was able to get both of them on back-to-back level 30 enchantments, so I didn't need to waste time grinding.!

If you found this post helpful a +10000 would be awesome =p

Hey guys I'm under the premise that you are required to be within 16 blocks of the mob spawner to activate it. However, it seems that it doesn't apply in 3 dimensional space. I have a mob spawner at: X 3272 Z 3577and Y 37. Another mob spawner is: X 3301 Y 8 and Z 3584. So if I stand at: X 3286/ 3287 Z 3580 and Y 22 I should be activating both spawners. But I'm not. Anyone know why?

Vechs, Spellbound Caves was by far one of your best maps. It was my personal second favor only to legendary. I found the map highly entertaining and somewhat challenging. The use of enchanted items and potions really drove me to explore everything I could trying to find all the items hidden in the map.

So, the only truly challenging part of this map was the beginning. The mobs could easily get overwhelming fast and if you don't get lucky with a sapling( which i never did) it was very hard. However, after a couple of restarts I was able to complete the map without dying *two VERY close calls*. The end would of been hard however, i was able to net some powerful weapons (the axe with sharpness and the bow with knockback) giving me an easy 2-shot kill to most enemies. Also, diamond armor with full enchants made killing enemies a breeze. Even with all your spawners the pickaxe from the crypts was able to cut through them in no time making it very easy to eliminate spawners even if multiple enemies were attacking me. My two personal close calls were in the rumbling caverns where i was knocked off one of the ledges by TNT and fell into the lava. However, full iron armor was able to give me time to swim to land even with 3 hearts remaining. The second time was in the crypts where i fell and was instantly blown up by a creeper and only had half a heart left. While this map wasn't a rom-hack hard map it was hard to tell its true difficulty without the old rating. I would say it is a medium maybe a medium-hard at highest.

Just completed Nightmare Realm giving me my 6th or 7th Super Hostile Victory!!!!

I found the map to be a ton of fun, and fairly difficult. Lava destroying your house at the beginning, BRILLIANT, TNT traps in your starting house, BRILLIANT, limiting the amount of wools from each chest down to ~5, BRILLIANT, Allowing the red wool to be destroyed by endermen, not so much fun, giving one chance at the red wool BRILLIANT. Despite all this i still found Legendary to be the more appealing map for ROM HACK because there was a lot more variety, i myself did not enjoy the bedrock ceiling at all. None the less, the map was a lot of fun and I hope you continue to make more.
My difficulty rating of the Map: Hard, Several of the wools were very easy to get and some of them were hard. The catle for example was more challenging than the orange wool, but if vechs always limited the amount of wools from 27 to 2 it would be even harder.

I have been taking my sweet sweet time on the Nightmare Realm, and Vechs I'm really starting to enjoy the map. I only need 3 more wools for my VICTORY!!!! Vechs make more wools like the red one, it makes the map so much more fun (although I would make them endermen proof =p) Getting the red wool was even better than getting the black wool from legendary, I thought i was a goner.

When I went for the red wool I found its chamber and was so afraid to break anything, I didn't even want to walk on the snow. Eventually when I stopped being a wimp I did but had no way back out! I figured you needed ender pearls but I did not want to risk going back and having the endermen ruin it, so I grabbed a bunched of wool AND RANNNN! I did place some wool blocks to jump up to get high enough and the whole freakin thing nearly exploded on me, but i was able to place some wools near the entrance and save them. I was so happy to find out that i lived through the experience i started to jump around and i fell into one of the random holes. That was disappointing but I luckily placed 4 wool blocks to save my life. So happy!
