Anybody happen to know if the Halloween update enable damage? As fun as a new evil dimension sounds it'll be somewhat boring if all the bad guys just hump my leg. :smile.gif:
So, I tried out minecraft last night with a friend playing on a local server and it was quite a bit of fun! I'm probably going to purchase this sometime when its purchasable again.
I've got a few questions though that I could not find easy answers to.
1) Although I got monsters to spawn at night on my server, they didn't seem to do any damage, and I could not hurt them either. Even magma didn't seem to hurt me at all. Makes trying to survive a little boring. :smile.gif: How do I turn on damage?
2) Difficulty settings and server options. I didn't see many options when I typed "help" in the server. Does anybody have a good server config guide?
3) If I play on some of the public servers, what is good etiquette? Some things are obvious, like don't break peoples stuff or take their items. I'd rather know now if there are other things I should be careful of in the minecraft community.
4) The world is infinite right? If I keep going in one direction forcing the terrain to keep updating, is the poor server going to choke? Is the world infinite downwards or is there a "bottom" to the map? Is there any quick guide to how the terrain generation works?
5) Sound. I seem to have none. Is there sound in this game?
6) Does the client self update, or do I need to remember to check the website for new updates?
