I was expecting the typical spear suggestion. I was not mistaken. This new weapon is overpowered in many ways that would make the sword obsolete. Not only does it cost less than the sword, but it has a longer reach. This would be OP in PVP, since you could hit people without them being able to get close enough to hit you.

    No Support.

Mechanics wise, you can nerf the spear's swing speed until it's fair. I would say slower than an axe. That would make a cheap, slow, and ranged weapon.

Yep this is pretty much every spear suggestion ever. Except this one doesn't include the ability to throw the spear. Doesn't mean I'm opposed to the thought of a spear in the game, though.

Yeah this is cool, but I think it's not just about exploring the desert temple that makes it great, it's overall a nice structure to build off of, and I wouldn't want to see it replaced, not that badly at least, honestly I would prefer that they add in an igloo for the snow bioms.

This is an idea for another structure. The Desert Temple wouldn't be replaced. And igloos are being added in 1.9, as others have told you.

    This is a good idea...

but you need some cryptstone pistons. Otherwise you can just mine the pistons and redstone, get through, and have a boost to your next redstone project while you're at it.

Well, the pistons are concealed behind the Cryptstone, so the person would have to mine the cryptstone to get to them, which is impossible without a diamond pickaxe, and takes about a minute to break one block.

I find the concept of the Crypt dunguen very interesting. It's good and feels like a "real temple", so good work on the suggestion. But the thing that bugged me was how the Lich will use fireball at such a high blocks. More accurately the range of 20 blocks, and giving the fact that the room where the player will fight the Lich. Is fairly a little small because of the fireball, ice storm, also how much does the Lich's health have?, and how fast is it?

Also can the smite enchantment effect the Lich is some way? also does the Lich drop anything? or it's drop are in the double chest.

Overall this is a very interesting and detailed suggestion, the dunguen your suggesting gives Minecraft dunguen feel of a "Real temple"

    SUPPORT

I was thinking the same thing. I think I'm gonna nerf the range, because currently the Lich can snipe you from across the chamber. As for the Smite effect, I said that it is an undead mob and is treated as such. However, melee is not the good way to go about fighting this, because of its Undead Aura ability. I couldn't think of any drops for it, so I guess the chest will have to do. I was thinking about it dropping some item that lets players use the same "spells" that the Lich does.

One thing is for certain. Temples get boring. The first time you find a desert temple, you may or may not set off the trap (Probably not because nothing sticks out more than stone on sand). After that, you may as well have explored every desert temple. This is a suggestion for a dynamic structure, known as the Crypt.

    Structure:

What makes the Crypt unique is that it generates in a linear fashion, with one room leading to the next, and uses different combinations of room types. These room types serve different purposes:

Corridor: The basic 7x10 room with four pillars, two on each side of the room. Torches are placed on these pillars. These are used to connect special rooms.

Staircase: This is a 5x8 staircase that leads either upwards or downwards. This is sometimes found at the end of corridors to add variety.

Spiral Staircase: A 9x9 room with a stone slab staircase leading either upwards or downwards. Torches and webs can be found on the surrounding walls.

Arrow Corridor: a 1x10 corridor with a dispenser placed every 2 blocks of the wall, with a stone pressure plate underneath, with redstone wiring connected to these dispensers. This would make a total of 5 dispensers on either side, with 10 in total. These dispensers contain arrows.

Lever Puzzle Room: a 9x9 room with three levers in the center, and a piston door on the other end. One lever activates this door, while the other two activate the 18 dispensers on the walls. These dispensers contain exactly one poison tipped arrow each, and are concealed behind vines, so an inexperienced player may not see them.

Pressure Plate Puzzle Room: a 9x9 room with a 3x3 platform in the center, with an iron pressure plate above that. This pressure plate is wired to a piston door on the other side. There isn’t a catch to this puzzle, other than the fact that the player will have to leave behind several items in order to pass to the next room.

Burial Corridor: Similar to a regular corridor, though it contains two double chests on either side that contain bones and rotten flesh. These are to symbolize coffins. These “coffins” have a 25% chance to contain an emerald.

Inner Tomb: This is the final room of the Crypt, and will always generate last. This is a 15x21 room with four pillars on each side, and a raised platform at the opposite end of the room. On this platform, a double chest can be found, with loot identical to four stronghold chests. (Not exactly sure how to say it, but this chest contains some good stuff.) A new miniboss spawns in this room as well, the Lich.

    Lich

The Lich appears to be a skeleton wearing a black robe (Similar to a witch or villagers) with holes and tatters. The Lich glides around, with both arms outstretched. The Lich will use one of three attacks:

Fireball: Identical to a blaze’s fireball, except only one is shot, and with considerably more accuracy. Has a range of 20 blocks or so.

Ice Storm: Fires 4-5 snowball-like entities that each do 2/3/4 hearts depending on difficulty. Has a range of 10 blocks, but will start to spread out after 3. This attack is devastating at close range.

Lightning Bolt: Shoots a horizontal lightning bolt that does 4/5/6 hearts of damage depending on difficulty. The Lich will gain the “Charged Armor” effect for 3/2/1 seconds before firing depending on difficulty.

Undead Aura: If the player gets within 2 blocks of the Lich, they will release a field of black particles that act as a lingering potion of harming. This is to discourage players from charging the Lich, and making for an easy fight.

The Lich has a total of 30/35/40 hearts depending on difficulty, and a 50% resistance to magic. The Lich also is immune to fire. The Lich is an undead mob, and is treated as such. They will still ignite in daylight, however they will not take any damage.

    Material

I know what you’re thinking. “Nice idea, but people can just mine through the doors so the puzzles are pointless.” I know, I’ve thought of that. That’s why these Crypts will be made of a new block called “Cryptstone”. Cryptstone has a hardness identical to Obsidian, but can be pushed by pistons. (Or else the puzzle doors won’t work.)

Feel free to leave any criticism or feedback, and even ideas for more rooms if you have them. (Not idea farming, just welcoming.) Otherwise, thanks for reading!

Boooorrrrrinnngg!! This is your typical "Less X, More Y" arrow post involving ore materials. Check out BookWyrm's suggestion on this. (Granted, he does use the ore materials for arrows as well, but he also uses unique materials, like Obsidian and Glass.) Sorry, but I'll never support new arrows made of materials like Gold, Iron, and Diamond.

    :D Thanks!
Well, you do need obsidian anyway to get enchantments, and since you can only get the level 1 of both those enchants, and once you get the enchant you forfeit any more chances to get a better enchant from an Enchanting table, I thought it was OK.
Its not the most important part of this though. I just wanted another way to use the Shards, and since that's how cavemen or tribal warriors made their swords more deadly, by putting shards of obsidian on them, I figured it made sense :D Do you have any more ideas on what I could use them for? I feel like there has to be more possibilities.

    Quote from BookWyrm17»

No I am NOT here to suggest multiple tiers of Arrows.
I am here to suggest different functionalities of arrows.
I saw another post on arrows that brought to mind my ideas about it. I was going to wait a while so it didn't look like I was trying to copy off of them, (plus it seems polite) but then I saw that it was necro-bumped, so it was actually already dead. (sorta) :D So I'm free to post this idea!

I guess this is where we start off.

    Types of Arrows
There are 7 types of arrows.

    Flint:

The basic, wonderful arrow type we have all come to know and love. Sharp little projectiles that do damage to both health and moral.

Can be used with bow Enchantments. I've grown fond of these little guys.

    Wood:
To craft these arrows, simply leave out the flint in the recipe! You end up getting a sharpened stick with feathers on the end. These arrows are really more for target practice than real projectiles, dealing only a half a heart each, and 50% knockback. But they are so light the drawback on the bow is almost instantaneous! You can craft another arrow by putting the correct material above the Wooden Arrow. Don't really see the point of this, unless you want to play a game of Bow-tag but not actually kill anyone?
Can be used with bow Enchantments

    Stone:

Crafted with a solid piece of stone (No cobble here!), these arrows are pretty basic. They don't deal quite the same amount of damage as a Flint arrow, but their blunter tips mean they pack quite a punch! They deal 50% damage and 150% knockback.

Can be used with bow Enchantments So like, melee from a distance? Also, would they travel as far as flint? Being heavy and all.

    Glass:
This arrow is crafted from glass, and while they are just as sharp as Flint arrows, they are so fragile they break on contact with ANYTHING. Stone, flesh, dirt, it doesn't matter. You can only use this arrow ONCE.
The special thing about these arrows, though, is that they are hollow.

"What does that matter?" you ask?

Well, you can fill them with liquids! Namely, potions! It looks like at the moment, there is no way to craft these delightful little devils, the potion arrows, so this would fit very nicely. On contact, it shatters, splashing everything in a small radius with a volatile liquid :D (It can also be filled with water to put out fire, and do extra damage to blazes)
Cannot be used with bow Enchantments I haven't been following the recent snapshots closely. Do the potion arrows really have no crafting recipe? If not, this makes sense to me.

    Gold:
This arrow is crafted from Gold, which, as you know, is actually pretty soft. So it makes for a terrible weapon, dealing only 25% the damage that a flint arrow does. What makes it useful?
Gold is the most enchantable substance out there, and just because its a tiny bit on the tip of an arrow doesn't mean it isn't helpful!
At the moment, Power, Punch, Infinity, and even Flame all have to do with what happens before or while you are shooting. You draw back more, your bow has a heavier draw weight, you have infinite arrows, and you set your arrow on fire BEFORE you shoot it.
But there are three enchantments that I think would work FABULOUSLY on arrows.
Smite: Your Golden arrows do MUCH more damage to the Undead! Woo! And since so much enchantment is packed into such a small space, it does lots more damage! Only two arrows are needed to take down a zombie!
Bane of Arthropods: If you don't even want to get close to those spiders, take them out with these!
Looting: It kills me that us long range fellows don't get the benefits of extra loot. It seems like you have to actually go in and kill them with a sword to get anything extra. But not with these!
Each arrow takes half of an experience point to enchant. You can stack them on the enchanting table to mass-enchant them.
Can be used with bow Enchantments. I don't see the point of this actually. The enchants go on the bow.

    Diamond:
Like expected, Diamond arrows do more damage! (I mean, you hit someone with a sharpened diamond, you expect them to feel it.) But they only do one heart more. They do have one more effect on the enemy, though. These indestructible tips have a 50% chance not to break when hitting an enemy, instead of disappearing into the void, never to be seen again. And the fact that they are the hardest substance around means that when they hit Gold, Iron, and Diamond armor, they deal x10 durability to it, shattering the armor with each shot! (They don't work on Leather and Chain armor... those types bend, not break.)

Cannot be used with bow Enchatments. I'm not sure how I feel about this one.

    Obsidian:
These require a new item to craft: The Obsidian Shard.
Breaking Obsidian has a change to give you one or two Obsidian Shards instead of Obsidian. An actual shard of obsidian has an incredibly sharp edge. Doctors actually use it on the edge of scalpels sometimes. The edge can be as small as 3 nanometers! Crazy, huh? I like this. It makes Obsidian not useless. However, instead of a new item, I would just use Obsidian in place of flint, and have it give you 8 arrows.
Three Obsidian Shards on the right side of a Sword in a crafting table will give it Sharpness I, without the need for enchanting it (but it can't go any higher than level 1) Don't do this.
Three Obsidian Shards crafted with a tool will give it Efficiency I. Don't do this.
Obsidian Arrows are very special. They are so sharp that they fly right through an enemy, dealing 2 hearts extra. But they are so sharp, they don't lose any speed when hitting an enemy, so they deal no knockback and can fly right through several enemies.
Cannot be used with bow Enchantments. An interesting trait. I suppose the no knockback factor makes up for it though.

    Yep!
Tell me what you think! What do you like? What seems overpowered or weak? How can I fix it up?

I do like how the obsidian one makes use of an mineral that becomes minuscule after a portal is built. That being said, I only like arrow ideas that use uncommon objects, to keep the original Flint feel. Flint is a mineral, but it isn't on the same page as the other ores. I don't like the ore ones, but I do like the glass and obsidian ones. I have another idea. How about Prismarine arrows, crafted using Prismarine Shards, that do not lose speed when fired under water, deal the same amount of physical damage as an arrow, but also does an additional heart of magic damage.

posted a message on Reactor Ruins: A new structure in the Nether

This sounds like a really cool idea that will give players another reason to spend some time in the Nether. Also, I would have it be surrounded in Netherbricks. I just think that would look nicer. Another thing is that, this sort of creates more of a progression to the game. An optional one, actually, which is even better.

    1. Build a Nether Portal

    2. Find a Nether Fortress

    3. Obtain Potion Ingredients

    4. Make Potions of Water Breathing and Night Vision

    5. Raid a Monument

    6. Look for a Reactor Ruins, and use the gold blocks from the monument to activate this.

    7. Bask in your loot!

Sorry to break it to you, but your opinion isn't the only one that matters. Saying "Everyone hates my idea, but I think it's good" is a horrible argument. The suggestion won't grow at all, and it's just a bad suggestion. If everyone says it's not good, then you should probably change it.
Besides, would you want something good enough, or great? You can't make something great if everyone dislikes it.

I never once had that mentality. I was simply stating that I don't see how I can change it. If it seems moddy, then it seems moddy. I have people asking me to make it more unique, while others are asking that it be simplified. You can't please everyone.
