EDIT: Since the Forum is being archived, I'd like to point out that I finally did something with this. Here is the GitHub page for it: https://github.com/Lesking72/mcupdate
I decided instead of trying to use tumblr to just modify the HTML myself, and host it with GitHub pages. I'm probably the only person that uses it, but I wanted to update this post in case someone finds it in the future.
--- OLD POST BELOW ---
I felt this belongs in the tools category because it's a launcher mod. If it belongs somewhere else, move it.
Some people, including me, don't enjoy the native launcher. So, I made a few modifications to it to the old one since Mojang is no longer supporting it.
1. Removed the update nag from the top panel
2. Changed the blog page to mcupdate72.tumblr.com (Note: I don't have time to do much of anything right now, so it's going to show the default launcher page. When the new blog is finished, it will automatically display the new blog.) EDIT: https://lesking72.github.io/mcupdate
To install:
EDIT: Removed as these instructions were outdated, visit the GitHub repository for proper instructions.
Once you have installed this modification, you must open launcher.jar directly! If you use the bootstrap (executable downloaded from minecraft.net) it will replace this with the standard launcher. I don't know if this will cause problems when game updates are released, but if they are, I'll try to poke a stick at the bootstrap to make it not replace launcher.jar

Please note that the blog is not finished, as a result of the theme the original blog uses no longer being available, I'm having to cannibalize a new theme to make it look similar. So the theme does exist. It's called MMMMinimal, but in the HTML code, it's called Photo Minimal, but searches for Photo Minimal (and the website link provided) came up mostly dry. It's still going to take a bit because Mojang made some changes to the theme that I have to replicate. EDIT: I don't have time to do much of anything right now, so it's going to show the default launcher page. When the new blog is finished, it will automatically display the new blog. EDIT: New site is complete. If you did install the old mod, my old tumblr page automatically redirects to the new site, at least until my tumblr page is taken down.
Download EDIT: Visit the GitHub repository to download the mod
The launcher does this randomly too, sometimes I can make it start the launcher sometimes it won't.
This is the terminal log that has been open for well over 10 minutes:

Reversing LZMA on /home/les/.minecraft/launcher.pack.lzma to /home/les/.minecraft/launcher.pack
Unpacking /home/les/.minecraft/launcher.pack to /home/les/.minecraft/launcher.jar
Cleaning up /home/les/.minecraft/launcher.pack
Starting launcher.
When I force the terminal to close the launcher window stays open and will not close with the window buttons.
Specs:
Ubuntu 15.10 running kernel 4.2.0-19
OpenJDK 1.8.0_66
64 bit java
Video driver X.org X server - AMD/ATI display driver wrapper from xserver-xorg-video-ati (open source)
Starting the launcher directly from .minecraft won't work either.
Also let me know if I should have used a spoiler instead of blockquote

EDIT:
I changed mcpi.minecraft to minecraft.minecraft and the same in the other one and it worked.
actually it was a failed pig model, which is what some people form their theories about Minecraft upon.
It wasn't until after that post that I found out what the bug was but i'm guessing at the time it happened it had the pig texture but it was tall and didn't explode
On SPC 1.5.2, none of the WorldEdit commands seem to work. I can't use the wooden axe to set positions, and when I make brushes, it seems to work fine but it doesn't actually change/edit blocks. I tried both manual and automated installation, and I don't know how to fix the problem.
try using //pos1 for position 1 and //pos2 for position 2
I don't know what happened to it. Ever since I got minecraft I have wanted mods. This was the one mod I always wanted. After teaching myself to mod and having used 100's of mods I never got to use the zeppelin mod. Every time I make something I end up making ships, planes, or spaceships that need the mod. If anyone updates it I will be very grateful. Do it for a kid who has always dreamed of having that mod.
You can search minecraft 1.2.5 jar and use the installer
Hi, I have a hard drive from a computer running XP and am trying to boot it with a laptop in a hard drive case.
I booted into it and it showed a little loading bar and it rebooted into windows 7. Any info about this?

1. Open the jar file with WinRAR or 7-Zip and extract M.class
2. Paste the following into any text editor
3. Save that document as an HTML file (.html) in the directory you extracted M.class to and open the html file.
