Why you want to become member: I've been looking for a new server for a fresh start. I've gotten tired of my previous ones and I want a brand new beginning so I can build all over again. I've got a lot of ideas!

What you like about this server: I joined in once and everybody gave me a wonderful welcome. It feels like people are pretty nice here, and I like a classic survival experience.

Have you read the rules: Yessir!

In-game how many banners are in/on the spawn house?: By my count, seven.

posted a message on OptiFine HD (FPS Boost, Dynamic Lights, Shaders and much more)
I noticed a bug in both the 1.8 and 1.8.1 versions. I tested this with both versions, with and without Optifine - it's only present with Optifine. The player's hand is improperly lit above Y-128, and will only be lit based on the time of day, before abruptly flickering much, much brighter. This happens once every few seconds. As in, I would stand next to a torch, and yet the hand would be lit as if I were deep underground, before suddenly flickering brighter than the torch for a split second, then going back to dark. This would happen regardless of how close to a light source I was, so long as I was above Y-128. Below Y-128, lighting is normal. It's only with the player hand in first person, however - on any other item, or in third person, the bug was not present. It is fairly bothersome since I play in first person, like having empty slots to see my skin's hand, and am currently playing on an Amplified world in high-up areas.

Mods are entirely free, based on the Minecraft EULA, I believe. You can't modify someone else's product and claim it as your own, after all, so make sure you're not being scammed! Installing mods is usually a semi-complex process, so unless you or he are willing to look into tutorials on how to install mods, and not to mention find out what mods you would actually want, wait for now and just play the basic, normal version of the game (also known as 'vanilla', since it's plain, basic and unmodded). Mods are also only available for the PC version, and as stated by 'cooldude' up there, make sure you post in the correct forum next time, if you use these forums again. Hope we helped!

posted a message on When do you THINK 1.3 will come out? (100+ SUPPORTERS)
Hmm... Personally, i'm excited for it, so, i can't wait.
However, i want to make sure it's all well and good, so i'm happy waiting so long as it's good and ready by the time it's released.

In other words, bugs and bumps does not a minecraftian make.

In even more other words... i'm going to just wait for the bugs to be ironed out, and, once that's done, eagerly await the full release.

Nice idea, I might give it a go.

Can you snowball stuff? Because it doesn't really hurt them...

To get Exp, you could use the bug/glitch/thing where if a Dispenser knocks a mob off a cliff, and it dies, it drops Exp. Unless they've fixed it. It'd make getting Feather Falling pretty simple.

One more thing: can you craft Helmets for getting Respiration and Aqua Affinity? Seeing as it's just like Feather Falling, in Utility.

Snowballing... No. It doesn't hurt them, yes, but it's kind of a mix between the no-bows and no-punch-off-a-cliff rules. Thus, you are not allowed to reel in or hit mobs with eggs/snowballs. I'll update the OP.

If you can't attack hostile mobs, can you still punch testificates?

Technically, i see them as pacifists - They don't attack things directly, they let iron golems defend them. So, no.

Actually, raw fish is edible IRL, just look at sushi or salmon.

True - But i like it this way. It makes it a little more difficult than just 'bring-a-fishing-rod-everywhere-so-you-can-nibble-on-fish-now-and-then'.

But dispensers need bows?! Am I allowed to craft them for this sole purpose?

Yes, that is allowed. Crafting weapons to use is, however, not allowed. I'll update the OP to specify this.

Nah, I am a warrior-settler, not a pacifists. I don't really like this challenge, because when a pig shoves my off a cliff, then all pigs go extinct from my biome. Just not a peaceful guy. I have lots of mob drops though, and am well fed.

Okay then, you don't need to. Remember, as stated in the OP, you can if you want to, as it is a challenge - you don't have to if you don't want to. So, that's that, and you don't need to express that you don't like it because it's not your sort of thing. Per se, it could be said that it is neat, it's just not your sort of thing. But, whatever works, i suppose.

I don't know where. I just thought this up the other day - i didn't base it off of anything, i just made it up.

Okay then. This is just a little challenge idea that i thought up when i was playing SSP the other day, trying to spice up the gameplay. It's fairly simple, but the simplicity makes it a challenge - and, once you get into it, you fear monsters all the more.

Rule 1: No attacking enemies directly. No attacking them. No swords, no punching, no fishing rods, no off-a-cliff attacks. This not only makes you fear them, as you are forced to run away, but it gives you more of a 'survival' vibe. Also, no using snowballs against enemies - just as you're not supposed to punch them off of cliffs or reel them in with fishing rods, this may not do damage but as said before you're not supposed to directly aggro them, or use any sort of knockback to harm them.

Rule 2: To go hand-in-hand with Rule 1, No crafting weapons. As in, no swords or bows. Fishing rods are allowed, but ONLY FOR FISHING. Not ghast fishing, not animal fishing. Just fishing. For fish. If you really need to kill an animal, use an axe. I'm going to exclude it since you need it for trees. No TNT either - what's the point of pacifism if you just blow everything up? However, you can craft arrows, for Rule 3. EDIT: You can craft bows only for the purpose of making dispensers. Don't make bows for fighting, only build them to put in dispensers.

Rule 3: Indirect ways are allowed. Traps and dispensers are useful and allowed, as well are snow and iron golems. If somehow you can manage to get one aggro'd on an enemy, wolves are also useful for this.

Rule 4: Don't use beds too much... What's the fun in it if there aren't any enemies at all? Use it primarily for setting spawn point.

Rule 5: Not exactly pacifist related, but, don't eat anything considered inedible! Rotten flesh, Raw Chicken, and Raw Fish are not allowed to be consumed. If you want to pump up the challenge, the same can go for raw beef and raw porkchops.

Rule 6: Armor suits are not allowed. Boots i can allow for featherfalling (if you somehow manage to get enough EXP), but don't end up just running around with a suit of armor, making you a tank and ruining the fun of the challenge. I'll allow it for the nether, but that's it, and even then, please use it sparingly.

Rule 7: Play on at least Easy Mode. Peaceful ruins the entire idea of the Pacifist Challenge.

    Finally, have fun.

Tips: Torches are your best friend. These should be your top priority at first. Wheat farms are vital to this, since you can't emergency-munch on stacks upon stacks of rotten flesh or raw food.

So yeah, that's it. I sure hope you all enjoy it, and, feel free to give suggestions. It's personally kind of fun, and the challenge is exciting - at least, to me. Keep in mind this is a challenge, you're not forced to do it so don't complain that it's 'stupid' or anything. This is for those who want to do it. So... Go out there, and survive!

posted a message on Need ideas for a parody
Hm, this is really pretty vague. People will want to know 'what kind of parody' - a song, a video, a world, ETC ETC. I suggest you say what kind of parody you mean, because not everyone thinks the same. Good luck, though, minecraft parodies of almost every sort are great!
