    I am requesting that someone make a mod for SMP that would allow server admin to adjust the rate of monster and animal spawns in a given area.. given the Xand Y coordinates. So the left, right, front, back axis.

    The main reason for this would be to stop monster/animal spawns in a city or to increase monster/animal spawns in farm.

    posted a message on Odd Spawn Issues On a Server.
    So A friend of mine pointed this out to me and I thought this would be a good place to put it. Please tell me if is the incorrect place and I will do my best to fix it.

    So here is the issue.

    We have noticed that when F3 is pushed, he uses this to find squids, that things don't seem to spawn, or spawn at a lower rate. However after the ID mode is turned off, after a while things start to spawn again after awile.

    This isn't my server mind you, just something that we, as a group, have noticed.

    The only mod the server currently has is the Bukkit Myhome one.

    Has anyone else noticed this? Or know of any way to work around it, other than not using F3?

    I'm an amature programmer in the extreme sense of the word. And Bukkit confuses me to no end currently.

    zMod isn't open source, so isn't it illegal, or at least unethical to just open Zans code and alter it? I'm not usually the one to ask that, but yeah. I'd just start from scratch, make a basic mod with the essentials from zMod and write it. hell, I can even help you if you start from scratch. And if Zan returns from his vacation or is resurrected, then we can stop and use zMod again. But I wouldn't take his code...


    I agree that it would be unethical to use his code and alter it. What I want to decompile his code for was so I can see how he wrote it and, like you said, make the basics of it work from what is there. I really only know C++ and from what I have seen, in the hour I spent trying to open it, you can't open a .class file in visual basic.

    And if you are willing to help me with it and teach me a bit, I am more than willing to learn. Just be aware I am a full time student and my work load can get a bit crazy.

    I live in California, So -8 I think?

    I built a tower out of obsidian using Zmod and had to take it down to make room for something else. I don't want to hear about how people miss Zmod.

    Type /solid to change the shape type to ether solid or hollow. then the command for whatever shape you want to build.

    I just got my server set up and running. I love the server wrap so far but I have one question or a suggestion depending on the answer.

    Is there a way to turn creeper damage above the surface back on? If there is a way could you please explain it? if there isn't a way could you make the mod so that there is one?

    I know, crazy right? But some of the people on the server I host said that without their building getting blown up by kamikaze shrubs, the game lacks a certain something.
