posted a message on Low FPS from Shaders Mod (but not how you think!)

So this sorta sounds like your typical Shaders Mod tech support question, and those usually always come down to "Shaders Mod takes ton of FPS loss to run, just don't run it". The problem here however, lies somewhere else. Recently (a few months ago) I upgraded to a new graphics card (Nvidia 560ti -> AMD R9 290), which by most games is a massive upgrade. However, for minecraft, it seems to be the exact opposite. I haven't really noticed a difference in FPS in main vanilla minecraft, but with Shaders installed, it's a whole other rodeo. With my 560ti, I was rolling about 60+ FPS, but now on my R90, I'll be lucky to snag 15-20 FPS, when in vanilla, my new card gives me 100+.

I hear that minecraft runs better on Nvidia, but it seems there's something more to the tale. I instantly lose FPS everywhere in minecraft, as soon as the Shaders mod is installed. I'm talking within the menus, even entering a normal game without shaders on, still holds FPS loss as if there is a shader on. Not sure what's going on there, but I don't remember having that problem with my 560ti, as the FPS loss (which did exist with it) only happened once I turned a shader on. I just want to go back to playing with good ole shaders on. Can I get some help?

    Specs:

    Processor - AMD FX(tm)-8120 Eight-Core Processor

    Video Card - AMD Radeon R9 200 Series (R9 290)

    Memory - 16 GB

Operating System - Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium Edition Service Pack 1 (build 7601), 64-bit

Not sure if it's a bug or what, but I can't seem to access the Quagga's Inventory. Not sure if it's supposed to be accessed just like a horse or what, but whenever I hit "E" it just accesses my inventory. The Quagga is definitely tamed, it had hearts pop up after I jumped on it so many times just like a horse. It also allows me to ride it saddleless, but I can't control it without the saddle. What am I doing wrong? Or is this a bug?

Meanwhile, Thaumcraft is getting $1200 a month on patreon. lol

I don't blame him for asking for a little bit on cash. Making mods is tedious and takes a ton of time.

True, but Thaumcraft is allowed to be in custom modpacks, Mo' Creatures is not.

Is there a place where I can find ruin templates that people have made and uploaded?

I love the ruins that I've found so far, but it seems like there isn't that many (keep running into the same ones over and over), and I haven't found any that look like the screenshots in the first post. Is there anyway to increase the chances of not so common ones, and how many is there total in the vanilla mod?

The rule is, and I quote:

    • Do not ask, demand or pressure creators to update their mods, this includes asking if/when there will be an update, and applies well for downgrades

DrZhark hasn't been on in over 2 months via his profile, I knew this before I made that post. I had no intent to ask, demand or pressure the creator(s) to update this mod or any other mod. I also did not ask when, or if there was an update to 1.7.10. I solely asked the community, via the thread of mo' creatures, if there was any news. Thank you, but try again. :D.

I thinking begging for an update is a little over the top, there's no reason for the developer to be spammed with constant annoyances when he's provided so much content before hand. However, I do think some helpful insight to what's going on at this moment would be awesome. From what I saw on their forums, someone mentioned using a 1.7.10 version that was in the works and could possibly see release that weekend, but that was in August. So who knows what's going on. I'd like some news on it though, if anyone knows anything!

When did asking about news on the update of a mod become a sin? If you have no idea, you could sit on your hands and close your mouth D:

    Quote from JohnOptegrove

What the hell are you talking about?

I was referring to Mojang explicitly permitting Hypixel's server shop (which is against both the previous and current EULAs) according to the Hypixel staff.

On top of this, after looking at Hypixel's Server Store (again), they're not really breaking anything in the EULA besides maybe the ranks (which seem like they're getting changed because of the new EULA). Not to mention, changes aren't required until August 1, 2014.

    Quote from KingOfRedstone

A lot of servers spend a load of time and money making amazing new gamemodes and features. I think just selling cosmetics won't even make enough to be able to cover half their hosting costs. People have the freedom to play on any server they choose so why would people play on any server that they think the those who pay have a much greater advantage over them. Personally I would never donate for something unless I felt that I got something from it or that it was a server I loved a lot. This doesn't help new servers as anyone starting up is going to fail after the first few months hosting bills come in.

I think a lot of you are missing something.

So can I charge for my minigames or mods?

Yes, so long as all players on your server have access to the features.

This has everything to do with the normal concept of the game. Read the Q&A thoroughly. You can't charge someone to make diamond swords, or to buy them ahead of time (ruins the concept anyways), but you can still charge for your awesome team deathmatch or mob arena plugins with the different classes. Either way, all these people getting butt hurt are either wanting something to get upset over, or they're the server owners themselves who lack all things optimism. People who are going to put in the money for minecraft servers, are going to do it regardless. Just don't charge for gameplay, all your plugins and whatnot ARE NOT affected. READ THE Q&A and EULA PEOPLE!

I agree ! and i will recommend not purchasing mine craft to everyone.

All because they're preventing abuse to the proper way to play minecraft? I'm sorry, but if a server is required to sell individual pieces of gameplay just to make enough to maintain their server, they're doing it completely wrong. Not to mention, its morally wrong. Obviously, stated by the EULA, it isn't their game to pick apart to make money off of anyways. This is Minecraft, made and owned by Mojang. This is their property, not yours, you should be happy with the freedom they already give.
