May 31, 2012LeSieg posted a message on Snapshot 12w22a Ready For Testing! These are truly impressive updates. I'm not one for snapshotting (I'll take my stable builds, thankyouverymuch), but I am giddy with anticipation at the eventual 1.3. If the API is released with it (which I doubt it will), I don't see why any new update could be wanted for for a very long time.Posted in: News

It really is fun to watch other people be inspired.

This has been my experience too. It would seem silly that Mojang would create new features in Minecraft and not make them compatible with others. There is a process to this, you know. If you are having problems with maps in regards to chunk updates and new features, I would chalk it up to a bug that's the exception rather than the rule. Checking the changelogs and bug lists to see if others are having similar problems would always be recommended.

I used MCEdit as well, it's a wonderful service.

I thought I was the only one who had heard that.
C'mon people, you don't need to murder people in every game you play.

Please everyone pay attention to this individual, for this is a brilliant idea.
Let's hope this is the case, because it would add purpose the roles of each villager other than a parade of rainbow smocks.

It's nice, because gravel roads really drove me bananas for some reason. It just didn't really "work" with the design I guess. I can't really tell from the picture here but I hope the block is a bit more suitable for walking and makes a less annoying noise when touched.

This entirely.
I would much rather see the money be independent from the other ores entirely, or at the very least have ways of being obtained on its own accord. Trading is a funny system, in that you get money when you sell things as well as spend it when you buy them. So for all the people here worrying about spawning new chunks...yeah, you'll probably have to spawn new chunks if youreally want a significant amount of rubies, but you'll probably still be able to obtain some money without having to do anything but sell some of the junk you've already got sitting around.

If the question is "how do I upload my custom map" the answer is here: http://www.ehow.com/how_4452565_file-mac-os-x-leopard.html
Essentially you just have to create a .zip file of the Minecraft save (found in your .minecraft folder) and upload it to some file-sharing site like MediaFire, then post a link in the forums and ask people to download it.
If the question is "how do I play a custom map" the answer is here: http://www.wonderhowto.com/how-to-install-minecraft-save-file-using-mac-414680/. Just follow the instructions (don't worry, it's written for Mac users).

I do not agree with claims that the game is becoming easier...additions like Hardcore Survival, shears, Zombie sieges, the End, and more have made the game come with its fair share of challenges. Creepers are still as obnoxious as ever and I've never seen the Nether more fun than it is currently right now (although I wouldn't mind it being a little bit more objective-based as it lacks any real incentive for development and extensive exploration compared to the Overworld).
To talk more specifically about the currency system I doubt it will just become a system of spamming the villagers with enough Cobblestone until you have enough money to buy a thousand diamonds and do nothing but sit on your (virtual and literal) butt all day--I would think the developers are a little more savvy than that. The testificates need some interaction with the player, and an economy system being built into the game is on par with survival being added in terms of how much it will do to incentive the player. It provides a third spoke for the game to build off of (the other two being the aforementioned survival and the crafting aspects), and could lead to further potential benefits in the form of built-in jobs, village development, SMP or SSP shops, skills and more.
So yeah, I'm excited.
