    posted a message on [Tutorial]How to Install a mod
    I searched and searched but for the life of me I could not find a topic that tells a user that is new to modding precisely how to install a mod. So, I've decided to make one myself. I know you can find stuff like this on youtube, but I'll feel restless until I do it, so, I will. Anyway, down to the point.

    This tutorial will tell you how to install a mod. Not a specific mod, just a mod in general. But to do this we'll need a mod to install, hence we need a mod to use an an example. But since mods involving audio are also popular, we'll be installing two mods. The very popular MAtmos by Hurricaaane as known on the forums, and a great mod called Mo' Creatures by DrZhark as known on the forums. We will be using what is usually referred to as the best modding platform: Minecraft Forge.

    You can find the topics for these mods here:

    Mo' Creatures: http://www.minecraft...-and-more-fish/

    MAtmos: http://www.minecraft...here-simulator/

    The reason I picked these mods is because they both do the same thing generally: Expand minecraft. Mo' Creatures adds more mobs and MAtmos adds more sounds. Get it? Anyway, without further ado, on to the tutorial.

    We will be using Minecraft version 1.5.2, the current version when this tutorial was written, for this tutorial. The first thing you will need to do is download the latest build of Minecraft Forge. I recommend the latest recommended build of Minecraft Forge, which is 7.8.0.684 universal at this time. You can get it here:

    http://www.minecraftforge.net/forum/

    Or more specifically, here:

    http://www.minecraft...x.php?topic=5.0

    Download the recommended universal forge from this page here:

    Next, download Mo' Creatures and MAtmos from their topics here:

    http://www.minecraft...-and-more-fish/

    http://www.minecraft...here-simulator/

    More specifically for MAtmos, here:

    http://ha3.eu/public...os.php#download

    Make sure to download both the mods' versions for 1.5.2!

    As a requirement for DrZhark's Mo' Creatures you will need GUI Api 0.15.6-1.5.2 and CustomMobSpawner 2.2.1. These files are absolutely necessary. The mod needs these to work. You can find these on the Mo' Creatures topic.

    Now make here's a checklist for all the files you should have, assuming you haven't renamed any:

    DrZharks MoCreatures Mod v5.2.2.zip
    CustomMobSpawner 2.2.1.zip
    GuiAPI-0.15.6-1.5.2.jar
    MAtmos_r24__1_5_2.zip
    minecraftforge-universal-1.5.2-7.8.0.684.zip

    Have all of them? You'll need them! I won't bring them to your attention again.
    Here's where we get technical, assuming you're not a very experienced computer user. I run windows 7, so it may be a bit different for you, if you run a different OS, try and find out how to get to the folder we're going to. Now, open the start menu and type run. Type this in the window that appears, type: "%APPDATA%" without the quotes of course. This will bring you to the roaming folder. From here, open the .minecraft folder, it should be at or near the top. Inside of this, open the bin folder. There should be a file named minecraft.jar here. You need to open this and see the files it contains somehow. For this, you will need a program that can unzip files, like winrar or 7zip. You will need to download and install one of these yourself. I recommend 7zip, it seems to have the least problems. Now if you used 7zip, right click the minecraft.jar and select Open With and then choose default program. If you open up other programs, 7zip file manager should be in there. Select it and uncheck the box at the bottom of the menu. That should open a menu like this:

    Open the forge folder like this too, and you should get a menu just like it, only containing different files. Now, select all the files in the forge zip and drag them into the minecraft.jar, making sure not to get them inside of a folder in there.

    Once that's done, exit of the minecraft.jar. I hope you haven't closed bin because you still need it. Go back into the .minecraft folder. Copy The Gui API zip you downloaded into a coremods folder that you should create now. Additionally, remember the META-INF folder that was in your minecraft.jar? Delete it. Trust me. Now go back to bin and create a folder called mods, unless already there. Copy the MoCreatures and Custom Mob Spawner zip into the mods folder.

    Now that we're done with Mo' Creatures, onward to MAtmos. This one is easier. Go back into the .minecraft folder. Now, open up that MAtmos zip you downloaded. Extract all the contents into the .minecraft folder, except for the blank file that says where to extract that. It will most like ask to merge folders, so do so. Now start up minecraft with what is generically named Minecraft.exe and FML should do some set-up, then it should all be installed. Everything worked correctly you should hear new sounds in your minecraft world and new you should see some new mobs.

    Congratulations! You now know the basic process of mod installing. Most mods only need you to installed Minecraft Forge and drop the mod in the mods folder. Some stuff will need to go in coremods sometimes though. The mod creator should specify where it should go. Sometimes mods don't support Minecraft Forge, and you will need to use something called modloader to use them, but I will not show you that, sorry. Be aware that some mods, like Optifine, even with Minecraft Forge, need to be put directly into minecraft.jar to work.

    So, to install your mods, install Minecraft Forge, drop into mods folder. Simple.

    The Alternative
    Now, that's all well and good, but I will not mention an even easier way to install mods. A magical Minecraft Launcher by sp614x, as known on the forums, called Magic Launcher. To use it, you will obviously first need to download it. You can find it here:

    http://www.minecraft...-profiles-news/

    You won't need to even touch minecraft.jar with this. I'm going to use the same mods as earlier for an example. First, make sure your minecraft.jar is clean, meaning unedited. An easy way to do this is to open the minecraft launcher, select options and force update. Also, make sure the mods and coremods folders are empty. Now open the magic launcher and click setup. Add the Mods from earlier into the Mods list using the add button. You should see the mods in a list now. The order of the Mods in this list matters. It matters a lot. This is the order in which they are loaded. So, for example, you can't have Minecraft Forge last. How would you load all your Mods and then load Minecraft Forge? Inconceivable. So, for example, Mo' Creatures needs Custom Mob Spawner and Gui API to work right? So those should be loaded before it. Ultimately, they should end up: Minecraft Forge, Gui API, Custom Mob Spawner, Mo' Creatures. Use the up and down buttons on the right so adjust. Oh, and don't use MAtmos. We don't need that. So yeah, they should end up like this:

    When you're using forge, forge will pretty much always go first. And when a mod is dependent on something, make sure it is loaded first. Magic launcher is very cool because you can switch mods on and off with the check boxes on the left of the mods and don't need to touch the jar at all. Pretty amazing, huh?

    Anyway, that's the end of my tutorial. Hope you liked it.

    posted a message on [REQ] Garlic Girl
    Hello anyone who this post may interest, I'm openly requesting a skin because most of the time, when I ask a person, they come up with a broken computer. Anyway, to be brief, this may seem a bit strange and obscure, probably why I can't find an existing skin, I want a skin of the girl that appears on the front of Garlic Girl™ products.

    For anyone who might take on this request, here is a reference picture:

    I'd really appreciate anyone who could make this for me.
    Every time I see this at the grocery store it just gets to me...

    Please post your main mod file code here.

    In fact just work off the PigZombie files e.g change the name and id's in the following files:
    - EntityPigZombie
    - RenderPigZombie
    Oh and the model you should use is ModelBiped

    Now I'm wondering why I didn't think of that.Anyway, I won't be able to try it until later since I'm EST time and I've got class to get to soon

    Heh, I guess I won't grow out of turn-based, at least for a while. :lol:
    Ah, Tales. I remember their Game Boy games - never had the game, but a friend of mine did and I just peered over his shoulder for the longest time.

    Yeah, it's really easy to get enveloped in the action of the tales games. And, in being real-time there's the ability to be able to play with your friends for even more fun.

    Chrono Trigger? Agreed. My all time favorite. I'm still a bit used to the wait and attack, unlike the live time that all the modern games have :P

    Turn-based, that used to be my favorite RPG battle style. Then when I started playing Namco's tales I started to like Real-time much, much more.

    For a mob there are 3 files that make it up:

    RenderMyMob(This visualises it in the world)<--This is Render

    Sorry about the late reply, but I wasn't able to try it last night, anyway, I placed the addRandomArmor at the end, I wasn't really sure about where to put it... correct me if that's wrong, also, what do you mean the render?

    Does "Mario & Luigi:Partners in Time" count?

    Quote from Blootz

    Meh. Roleplaying in minecraft, can be fun.
    I very much enjoy Garry's Mod RP, though. Preferably DarkRP or PERP.

    Quote from Alzorath

    Final Fantasy 6 or Chrono Trigger to be honest... cliche I know... but they are so much more developed in terms of storyline and world than most/all modern rpgs... (before it's said, yes elder scrolls has a much more developed 'world', but imo their stories are notably weaker than these games imo - still like elder scrolls though :D )

    @Zak_inc Yes, Mario & Luigi partners in time definetely counts!
    @Blootz I'm not sure if that exactly counts as an RPG...
    @Alzorath Final fantasy VI is less cliché than Final fantasy VII, I could say.

    Try this in the entity file:
    protected void addRandomArmor()
    {
    this.setCurrentItemOrArmor(0, new ItemStack(Item.swordGold));
    }
    In the render make sure it entends RenderBiped and use this:
    protected void renderEquippedItems(EntityLiving par1EntityLiving, float par2)
    {
    this.func_82428_a((EntityExample)par1EntityLiving, par2);
    }

    Thanks, I really appreciate your help.

    The one Panda uses to trap the WIther in bedrock, and then use a cobblestone generator with piston tape to suffocate the wither.

    Also, literally just chug an Enchanted Golden Apple and you can kill the thing with an iron sword and iron armour.

    When I killed my first one, I did do underground, and the wither spazzed out in the smooth stone surrounding it and it just let me kill it for free...profit???

    Trap it in bedrock? How?

    Oh, so my last post was in the wrong section.
    Anyway, I'm really new to minecraft modding, and I've been looking to make a biped hold a weapon. I'd really appreciate if you could make it simple for me, I'm a real noob at this.

    Thanks in advance

    Okay, I made an error in the title, I meant weapon but that should be obvious. I don't know if I can edit my post, but I left something out, so...
    This mod is in 1.5, and I need a make a tool have infinite durability. That'd help.

    Once again edit: Oh, so replying edits it. How did I not see that edit button earlier...

    Once again, I'm asking for the opinion of people. I like to know what the people think. Since I'm a really big RPG fan, I'd like to ask what your favorite RPG of all time is.

    Mine is Tales of Symphonia. When I came across Namco's tales, I was stunned. The games were absolutely incredible in my opinion. I'm a diehard Final Fantasy fan, but this was even better. I highly recommend you try them if you haven't.

    Now, enough about me, what's your favorite RPG?
