posted a message on Group Manager help please.
This should be posted on this forum, the server administration area. :)

I'm not all that familiar with GroupManager, but have you tried looking for an option where you can disable building? (Such as if you find something that says "Build: True" change it to "Build: False" for that certain group.)
If that doesn't really work, in the permission file (if GroupManager has one) Add "-essentials.build" in as one of it's permissions. A minus directly next to the permission node means they can't use that certain command or right.

As a 3rd option, download a Permission plug-in, such as bPermissions or PermissionsEX. Fairly easy to use. PM me if you have any more problems with GroupManager or Permissions. :)

posted a message on How Many Hours have You played?
Probably somewhere around ~750 hours. I've emptied out my bin folder so many times, so I've lost track.
But, there's basic math involved I suppose.
    • Bought MineCraft around Alpha 1.1.2, so that's about ~600 days ago
    • 2 1/2 hours per day on average
    • 600*2.5=1500
That's quite a lot. I've only played other games like TF2 and Terraria for 100hrs total.

This looks exactly like crafted but the character is a bit different.

Agreed. Even though Crafted was taken off the app store :(

On topic: I think I'll try this out pretty soon, pretty lazy day for me. Reminds me of Terraria :)

You could take up programming and do some jobs for people. I made $100 dollars off of 1 website I made for a hair salon.

Computer languages to learn for websites:
    HTML
    CSS
    php
    MySQL / knowledge of phpmyadmin

    This ^

If you do learn MySQL related programs, you can try setting up a server for a multiplayer compatible game and adding donor perks, as long as the server isn't hosted on a site.

posted a message on Most annoying ads?
Even though Google Chrome & AdBlock try to block most ads to their best ability, I've always hated the "Meet hot girls in your town!" ads.
TV ads are just plain bad though. I hate them. Some ads like Kohls or Target are always loud as hell and annoying.

posted a message on What was the first game you ever played?
Going in the same type of format as Pork Master:

    SNES: Donkey Kong Country
I was only four at the time. I didn't really know what the hell I was doing, but I still had fun.

    N64: Legend of Zelda: OoT
I was a bit older at the time, got many many hours of play out of it. To bad my N64 doesn't work D:

    PSX/PS2: Crash Bandicoot
    So addicting, still is.

    PC: Halo: Combat Evolved

Then from there I started getting into the newer stuff such as Xbox, Wii, DS, etc...

    Xbox 360: Halo 3

    Wii: Wii Sports

posted a message on server plugins
I would suggest looking at youtube videos, bukkit's list of plugins, or even BukkitDev.

To be honest, these are some of my favorite.
    • ChestShop -- Allows users to buy and sell items
    • Essentials -- Lots of commands for moderation, fun, or even the server's time.
    • iConomy -- Used for a system of money on the server, allows people to get money from selling items
    • Lottery -- Players can buy in-game lottery tickets for a chance at getting in-game money
    • LWC -- Chest protection, door protection, dispenser protection; only allows certain groups or people to open them
    • NoCheatPlus -- People without Permissions can't use any sort of flying/x-ray mod, also can't do various hacks/cheats
    • WorldEdit & WorldGuard -- Protect or edit land in an instant
    • PermissionsEX or bPermissions -- Easy to use Permissions systems.
I used to use many more plug-ins similar to the ones above. Be warned though, the more content and plug-ins you have, the more server space/ram you will most likely need.

posted a message on Dumb Question but please answer...
If you run a server with an older map (such as a map from 1.1 for example), you would have to go out farther and generate new biomes and structures such as Temples or other biomes. The land (chunks) you have already discovered won't have any new features.

    So in short, two choices.
    • New map seed
    • Go out farther in the map and generate new land
    Hopefully this helped. :)
