I'm glad I could help! If you have any issues with sound or mods not working on servers, you can download my patch here. Modloader does not work right with modloader for me without the patch.

Thank you for this! Kind of sucked that my sound kept cutting out. Your patch worked like a charm.

posted a message on 1.6.3 One Major Thing They Need to Fix.
Same thing happens to me. I want to take horses places, especially my mule for some extra inventory, but I don't want to have to build a pen at every destination just to keep it from escaping because the lead will most surely break if I go far enough that the area has to load back in when I come back. The leads break and are just laying on the ground, spinning, as you said. I was hoping it would be fixed as of 1.6.2, but it's still a significant problem.

Also, some of my animal keep escaping enclosed areas. Mainly sheep, but only the ones that have colored wool. o.O Go figure that one out.

Just goes to show how poorly a company makes themselves look when they're so eager to take legal action without even understanding what they're getting all fussy about.

A pen is really all you need. When it comes to glitching, there is really not much you can do but wait for a patch to come out. Try making a two stage gate, so that they can't escape when you come in.

Yeah, I'm thinking the leads are pretty pointless either way unless I'm just stopping and slapping down a post temporarily. Anytime I walk too far away then come back, the leads are broken and their wandering around. The pen I have at the ranch seems to be working fine so I'm glad for that.

Make a hole two blocks deep and one block across. That's the minimum size for the hole.
Now nudge the horse into the hole.

Wouldn't that make it suffocate? But I'd rather not have to put my horses into holes either way. :/ If they're gonna glitch and escape I guess I'll just have to wait until it's fixed...

Thanks for the quick replies. I guess I'll keep crossing my fingers until 1.6.2 comes out. Which should be today, hopefully.

Sorry if this has been asked before. Really tired after a day full of Minecraft and Zelda II. Easier to type than do a bunch of searching. Anyways, yada, yada...

My friend and I found some horses on my server and I'm wondering what the best way would be to keep them from escaping. At first we just had them in an open area with leads attached to posts. One day I was on by myself exploring, and when I came back, both leads were broken laying on the ground. The horses were still nearby, so I was able to pick up the leads and attach them to the posts again.

Since then we partially walled off the area. Enough that we figured they wouldn't get out if it happened again. Well we were both out exploring this time, came back, and his horse was gone. I found it wandering in the field outside of the wall. We still don't really know how it got so far in such a short amount of time. Or how it got there at all, really.

So now I'm in the process of making a ranch with a gated area of 1 block of wood and 2 fence posts high. My friend is still paranoid of his horse getting away, so he put it inside the ranch -with- the horse tied off to a post.

So should this keep them in ok (see picture), or should they still be tied off, too? Is the leads breaking the way they are a bug? It only seems to happen when we go far enough that the area has to load back in when we come back. Thanks in advance for any info.

Also....sorry for rambling so much lol.

I don't really care for it. I still don't see them as a -threat-, just more of an annoyance. Like my friend and I found horses in the distance but it was getting night. We wanted to go get them anyways. My God it took forever to finally get zombies to stop coming. I'm at the point where I'm relieved to see a Creeper.

Makes sense. Seems to be where most of this occurs (edges of areas that were discovered prior to 1.2). But there still seems to be a loto f random areas that weren't even close to the borders of where I originally explored that still load like crap. Not nearly as bad but it kind of ruins the experience when you're exploring new land and you see it.

This world was generated back in 1.1. And I didn't set a warp to this area or anything. I would have to re-discover it. It's hardly the only place that loads like that, though.

Yes it only happens in this world. I have other worlds linked via MultiVerse that haven't been explored a whole lot but still, they generate more normally so far.

Sorry if this is the wrong area to post this, but I'm sort of at a crossroads with my server world. We've done so much but the more I explore the more sickened I am. Here is a screenshot of how bad the biomes and such generate in my world. It's very rare for biomes to load smoothly and consistently and have a good flow from one to another. Most are very sporadic, small and have sharp borders. In this case, I found a jungle, forest, desert, plains, taiga and ocean biome all in one area. This is how bad it is and it makes the world look ugly as sin. Is this really normal or did something go wrong at some point and, if so, is there anything I can do to make things generate better when I explore further out?

Also, sometimes the biome borders are in a clear zig-zag pattern...It's terrible...

posted a message on [1.3.2] Sound Packs! V2.0 (Change the Sounds!) (DISCONTINUED) [Forge]
    Quote from Wolfheart9

I'm sure the author will lose sleep over an ignorant individual who is giving them no form of income nor any reason to cater to their needs. Thank you for this post. Those of us who understand how to do things properly shall enjoy it.

You know, at least everyone complaining is making sense. How are they uninformed or uneducated because they don't want Forge? Where do you see them saying it's too complicated for them to know how to install? I sure don't see that anywhere.

Personally, I myself know how to install all of that crap. My friend even had me get all the Tekkit junk to get on his server not too long ago, but I can't stand all of that and I like my Minecraft a lot more simple. Some additions on top of vanilla, but not as much as packs like those add. So I understand why people are frustrated they'd have to have such a huge mod just in order to change some sounds around to their liking. Too big of a requirement for something that simple. I'll be passing myself. Not that I don't support the creator of this or anything, but I don't think it's fair to have such a hefty requirement, either.

Either way, oh well. It is what it is. If people want to do it, great, hope they have fun with it. Others like me will pass for now and just keep on hoping for better options in the future.

Joliween is pretty cool. Seems to be labeled Jolicraft Spooky, now. Trying to use the customizer is kind of a pain, though, trying to make it for autumn and having the orange trees with a regular sky. Trying the default while setting the trees, foilage, etc to Joliween just results in brown trees. Can't get them orange for the life of me. Guess I'll just keep toying with it some more, but still, the orange sky and grass is a tad much for me.
