    Hey, I'm just wondering about what your doing with potions (yes I did search it). I am hoping to develop my own mod potion/alchemy oriented mod soon and don't want to step on any toes. I am hoping to allow more automation to potions, such as allowing them to be pumped around as liquids, mass potion brewing (with side effects!), and other interesting things. Thanks in advance!

    I have to thank you, Shreaders, for starting this topic. for quite a while I have been wondering why minecraft isn't as interesting to as it used to be, and now I know. I do agree that we don't need the origional 1.7 generator back, shure it was interesting, but it did have the flaws of the chewed up terrain that we don't want. I have been playing since a little before thanksgiving of 2010. I remember when notch reintroduced the seed function to terrain generation and I was able to type in random stuff like "lovemuffin" or something and randomly feel like I just got transported to the Nevada deserts with their giant rock arches (made up the seed off of the top of my head, no Idea what it would actually spawn in any version). I do like RedYosi101's suggestion on how to generate the world. It will take a little longer to create new worlds or generate new terrain, but the quality of the terrain will increase dramaticaly.

    And now we get to what I beleive is the elephant in the room of terrain generation. Caves. I play using Direwolf20's lets play mods. once I find a cave, I'll have more copper, iron, tin, and redstone than I can really even use. you can litteraly find a single cave that goes all of the way from the top of a mountain down to lava lake level. It intersects at least 1 abandoned mineshaft, and about... a bajillion ravines. I have honestly found, instead of the origional cave generator that would generate a bunch of small caves that will probably never intersect, you get about 1 uber-cave per every 1-3 biomes.

    you can officialy add me on your list of supporters, and if I can make a suggeston to you, take this to Get Satisfaction. that is really the only place mojang looks for suggestions, and so far some of the best or most usefull have been taken. I personaly thing, as one who remembers the interesting genrator of old, that this should deffinetely be one of mojang's priorities. If you want to appease any opposition (how do you oppose this?) you could add this to the terrain generator with superflat and the soon to be introduced giant biome options.

    Meh I give up, you seem to be right, but IC2 keeps crashnig while BC, Railcraft, and Redpower of the compatable version are all fine. I'm just going to wait for Redpower to update itself, sorry about that.

    Thanks for the help, the only problem is if you were to check the IC2 downloads page, it says to use Flan's unofficial ModloaderMP. SDK's/Forge's (they seem to be the same files,name and all) is only usable in IC2 verison 1.90 and beyond. the MC1.2.3 compatable version uses Flan's. I already have SDK's/Forge's downloaded and am using the Magic Launcher (a beautiful peice of code).IC@ downloads page here:http://wiki.industri...?title=Download

    I seem to have a question. I was hoping to play some IC2 backdating to MC1.2.3, but it turns out that the compatatble version for 1.2.3 is the last of IC2 to require Flan's ModloaderMP. I was wondering where I can find your old ModloaderMP files, As they seem to have been removed from the OP.

    although the idea of a dying grey sun would be cool too, like the normal world but with alot more clouds, to allow occasional glimpses of the only thing bettween you, and a minotaur/[whatever other mobs have been discussed] apocalypse.

    I don't want to be mean but this thread has become increadibly unorganized and hard to understand, the OP needs work, and there are no real descisions made to make something finite.
    If you don't want to edit your OP to make it undersatndable with the rest of the thread, then you are forcing people to read the whole of the thread to understand anything.

    Now, if you were to fix the OP to make it relavent to everything else on the thread, this post will be null and void. I am really only posting this because I find it frustrating to miss about 10 pages and get completely lost over a period of hours. If you cannot fix this, then I'm sorry but this idea is to good to go to waste. I will make a new thread (linked to this one of course) with a more up to date OP and a good relation to the All Dem Demensions threads (LinkHere).

    I hope to see this fixed, it's such a good idea...

    I am willing to help with the new OP and any pics or drawings needed to develop the idea fully.

    I do like this idea, but then people will complain about how this adds more higharchy (tell me if I spelled this wrong) to minecraft. now I personaly like the higharchy, whith you needing to get wood tools to get stone tools to get iron tools to get diamond tools to get obsidion to make a nether portal to get glowstone to make an Aether portal to get skyroot tools to get holystone tools to get zanite tools to get gravatite tools to get the mysterious mazeworld portal block and then make those blocks into the shape of an ??? to get to mazeworld. and that is the minecrft higharchy in a nutshell, unless you use the nether update/ nethercrarft. some people will complain about the higharchy the way you have suggested it, some people complain about it right now. I hope you/ we can find a way to make this work.

It does sound a little cheesy though, not like mazeword is much better. but it does describe the complexities of mazeworld to a better extent than, mazeworld, a world of infinite mazes, whickh is what that makes you think of. A long time ago, like on the first or second page, we settled on Labrynth to describe it kind of like Deadelus' Labrynth in Greek Myths. but I guess some of the new readers skimmed over that and the name was lost. and Regular Hexahedron, did you change the OP, I haven't chacked it in a while so I can't tell after just reading it. and one last thing, are we still doing the sunless/ dying sun void that coats the world in a perpetual, but above monster spawning level, twilight?

    I understand everything except the math you used to decide that iron finds more diamond in an hour than diamond. because it just stands to reason if you use an infinite iron pick versus an infinite diamond pick, then you will reveal more blocks per hour with a diamond pick than if you are useing an iron pick, thus getting the same ammount of diamond and probably a bit more. I am sorry if I am mistaken but I thought I should say something about this.

    In my main world Chalenger, there are two large flat areas in the western and south-western part of the map. the seed is either chalenger or Chalenger, not shure which. I don't know how to use pics on this forum, so I can't show you that, but here are chords if you are interested in checking it out for yourself: x -399, y 73, z 139 this is one of the largest areas at a single elevation, and if you are willing to use MC edit already, then you could edit the natural contours of the land slightly to make a large flatish area. although the sewer thing may be a problem. off topic, the sewer idea makes me think of undertown from The Edge Chronicles (oh Vox, why did you have to blow the whole place to kingdom come?).

    Aleskander is sugesting that it would be better if instead of having it a different color right off the crafting square, you have to dye the wood the color you want, this alows for a smaller amount of inventory space used unless you WANT a different color wood/fence/what ever the heck else you make. much like wool now, I think there is a mod for painting different blocks already, but I don't know how to use hyperlinks.

    moat people mine alot for the rarer resources, since coal is fairly common, even a small mine can find a good amount of it. If I ever run out of coal I have a large amount of wood stocked up that I can use for charcoal. and quick caculation: 1 sapling smelts one wood into charcoal(just skip this if you start off with one coal), one charcoal smelts 8 wood into charcoal, 8 charcoal smelts 64 wood into charcoal so it takes a toatal of one sapling and 73 wood to make 64 charcoal.

    this thread was mentioned on the Mazeworld thread and I decided to check you out. it seems that your basic idea is sound, with a world of order compared to the chaotic overworld, just like the Nether has a (for now) modded counterpart of the Aether. I hope to se many of the ideas developed in the also mostly forgoten Mazeworld thread get transitioned into Infinite Infernus, can I hear cooked porkchop in a furnace in the middle of an empty city anyone?
