posted a message on mods aren’t like they used to be

Has anyone else noticed that mods don’t have the same surprise factor? I’ve been wanting to play a kitchensink pack like CrazyCraft but mods for newer versions of Minecraft are the same old ones like Tinkers, BOP, RS, Alex’s Mobs— mods that you don’t really encourage exploring something new, when we’ve been through them so many times already.

Meme/Funny mods kinda fell off after 1.12.2 imo, with FunCraft being the last pack with similar vibes to CrazyCraft. I know CC was ported to 1.16 but that’s not really my point— just that there’s no new mods to really explore as of 1.18+.

Anyway, just wanted to reminisce a bit I suppose LOL, if anyone remembers those times.

Mods I miss always hit me randomly— I miss Pandora’s Box haha and that superhero suit mod.

posted a message on Slimecicle Inspired Hardcore Apocalypse (Interest Check)

    Hello!

I'm posting this because I feel like Slime's new video would have inspired players into looking to try something new but worry not, even if you don't watch him it's fine! The point is straight forward. I would love to have an apocalypse server but my fear is that in joining a public server, the zombies would out level new players and that's just a bummer. I thought a fresh server where everyone starts together would be the more fun course to take.

So this is just an interest check, to see if anyone would be interested in what is essentially: "100 Days in a Hardcore Apocalypse." It would be modded, I'll only be accepting a few players, I think proximity chat would be fun but I will only be accepting 18+ players.

This is just an interest check so please vote a +1 if you're interested, I'm not currently taking applications but want to see if anyone would like to share ideas prior to my starting a group.

EVERYTHING will be discussed as a group: how many members we're comfortable with, what mods we want, if we really want it to be hardcore or have limited lives, proximity chat or not, etc.

posted a message on High on Sugar Aether Add-On not working.

So High on Sugar released her Aether Add-On on her last facebook post here, you don't need an account to read more. But I can't get it to work; first it doesn't appear on the resource pack menu and when I get it to appear, it still doesn't change anything. I'm aware it's missing that mcpack.data or whatever file but I was able to add that by copying and pasting the one from the main high on sugar pack and that got it to appear in the resource packs menu.

It's meant for the 1.7.10 version of the Aether II mod. I've seen a youtuber use it here and I'm just not sure how to go about it. Any ideas, or someone who has gotten it to work before?

posted a message on 1.15.2 LF automatic tree chopper...

Like the title says, I'm looking for a mod that will add an automatic tree chopper machine. I thought Cyclic, AE or Mekanism would have something that does this but I've yet to find something.

Apparently Mekanism does have something but I can't seem to find it as I don't know what it's called.

posted a message on Waiting for Server error

Yes! At the start, when I was still very determined lol, I was testing mods by removing some, starting a new world and flying around to see if it would still occur. My theory was that I was encountering an item/biome that was causing it. If it didn't have the error, I would slowly add more mods, start a new world and fly again. Eventually I got to points where it wasn't happening in new worlds so I thought it was safe to start a permanent save. But a few hours in, I'm out exploring, and it happens again. At this point I've removed and added and removed mods but now that it has happened again, there's not a mod around that I can blame it on when those mods worked just fine another time.

posted a message on Waiting for Server error

Hey there forums! So I've been trying to play a custom modpack for a few weeks now on Minecraft but once I really get into a save and am out exploring the world, I occasionally get this "Waiting for server..." error on the mod I use that identifies items.

I try saving the game and it gets stuck on the saving screen, making me have to force shut it down. When I load into the world again, it loads me in a few minutes from where I originally had stopped. This constant loading makes it difficult to pinpoint what is causing my world to 'lag' as there is no crash log. Anyone have any experience with this?

This is for 1.15.2, I don't have Optifine installed, I've tried removing mods that I think may cause it, I should have enough ram dedicated to the pack.

Looks like your world may be corrupted.

Did it works if you start a new world?

In the crash report it says:

    java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: svenhjol/meson/enums/WoodType

    at svenhjol.strange.base.helper.DecorationHelper.(DecorationHelper.java:207) ~[?:1.15.2-1.0.0-beta.3]

svenhjol is the creator of the Charm mod.

Maybe it is an issue with Charms - test it without it

I removed Charm and created a new world and there have been no crashes so far (flying around to see if anything triggers a crash). Svenhjol is the creator of three of the mods I had actually: Charm, Strange and Charmonium. Strange is an Add-On to Charm but Charmonium can be played on its own. I know Charm can be accompanied by Quark but I don't include Quark.

Is there a way to know what exactly Charm was spawning that was causing the crash the first time? That way I could maybe turn it off in its config. Or could it just be anything to do with the mod?

Starting the world without Charm causes it to crash while loading and this is the new log: https://pastebin.com/2rJYTxfV

Can I ask what makes you think it's Charm? I see at the very bottom, where it lists data packs, it says many of them are (incompatible). Is that just something that appears no matter what?

Maybe I should remake the world as I know both Charm and Strange generates structures and it might just be loading a world without them that had them previously could be the issue.

posted a message on Modded Crash

Hi forums! So I'm hoping someone can give me a hand in reading these crash reports to detect the problem. The first crash I got was this one https://pastebin.com/SRfKnH7u and I assumed it was the Strange mod causing the crash since it appears in the last line and when the Minecraft Launcher appears, it says the error was: java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: svenhjol/meson/enums/WoodType.

So I removed the mod in hopes that it would fix it but, in the same world, I still crash exploring certain areas and this is the new crash https://pastebin.com/JbpqaRUL. Is it because I removed a mod that generates structures that the chunks are having errors? I've never ran into this error when removing mods or adding them. I saw some people say it's because I have the wrong Forge version but I am on the latest because some mods require it.

If there's a specific mod causing the error and it is visible in the new crash report, I would appreciate it if you could point it out, so I can learn to spot it next time. :)

posted a message on Stars in eyes?

Hi! I wondered if someone could finally answer this question but does anyone know how youtubers got stars and little smiley faces on their minecraft skins? It was a short trend that can be seen in this video and I believe Aphmau had started to do it in hers too but she doesn't in recent videos so it leads me to assume? It was some sort of mod? Any ideas?

posted a message on Looking for Quaint, LGBTQ+ Friendly Server ♡

I'm sure if you've scrolled Tumblr for servers, you will often stumble upon vanilla-esque servers with somewhat large communities and very cute builds and gifs of worlds with shaders. Unfortunately by the time I come across them, they've just closed applications. :pensive: I'm not against submitting an application so long as they are being accepted / declined in a smaller time period, rather than waiting a month for a response. Both Vanilla and Modded works with me but I rather it not be a large modpack full of technology but more geared towards Vanilla such as harvestcraft, MCA, etc. A light roleplay feel I suppose you can say, but it doesn't have to have roleplay, just be your casual immersive minecraft experience.

*I would also be open to putting something modded like that together myself. I think it'd be a comfy experience for everyone to have a small community based around trading foods, maybe have the marriage plug-in, building farms, very Stardew Valley you know? But only if people would be interested in it.

I assume this is MCA causing it as it has caused me issues before and it only seems to occur when I near a village. Before it crashed me but allowed me on again but now every time during load in, it crashes.

    - Your IGN: Galhac

    - Your Discord tag: swan#7630

    - Reason for applying: I happen to like commercials and your entire post just caught my attention! I do love bullet points, a whitelist SMP, and I'm looking to stick through something for a long term to make friends! You sold your server perfectly on that post alone and I hope it's as nice as it sounds. c:

    - How did you find out about this server: Scrolling the forums.

    - Experience in modded minecraft: I have possibly played... every mod out there, or I've tinkered enough with them. It's difficult for me to find mods I haven't messed around in which can make Minecraft boring. But I find that having people to interact with really makes things better.
