True that, we want to close it, not force us to choose a block :tongue.gif:
It may or may not get annoying when you hit it on accident, but i'm guessing it's a 'bug' Cause you know.. you have to be extremely lazy to 'complain' but you're suggesting.
I'm guessing this is just a thought. We're still in alpha anyways :tongue.gif: I don't think notch would want to go that far... yet. But very interesting idea, if anyone were to install Windows or a certain 'linux' they might be able to get minecraft running in some way. (See: Windows booting up on orignal xbox.)
Nah the problem is Firefox, it doesn't like Minecraft and makes it really slow. Try a different browser like Chrome, Opera or IE.
It did help slightly to reinstall both Java and Firefox. Currently it's playable for me, so I'm not going to try a bunch of different stuff at the moment. (I did try Chrome, but no noticeable change)
I got a certain program that kills unnecessary programs and background processes and boosts performance. It's called Game Booster, and it's made by Iobit, i suggest you try it and see if it makes ANY difference. (Some anti-viruses may be hogging up some things, or maybe firefox is with resources. I suggest trying out a new browser called Avant.)
Game Booster will also allow you to select what processes/programs you want closed, and hides in the task tray.
- A firewall is still enabled
- You're behind a router and your port is not forwarded correctly, or not forwarded at all
- A anti-virus or anti-spyware could be blocking it as-well.
Certain firewalls to check:
- Custom (See: ZoneAlarm.)
- Windows Firewall
- Network Connections (You'll see a lock next to your ethernet icon in there.)
Well pray to god you can use it, if not dual-boot with Windows XP Pro and Tinycore or Damn small linux or whatever you prefer. Just use a virutal machine if you want to. (Don't have to but meh.)
Most microphones don't need drivers in the first place, unless you mean sound drivers. Then finding a linux driver might be a bit hard.

Truth. I believe someone else has confirmed a IRC chat saying we will be getting a Signpost. Search, wisdom.
