Kinniken posted a message on Millénaire - NPC village - 16/09/18 : Millénaire 7 open betaPosted in: Minecraft ModsMillénaire forums for more in-depth discussions than here:
Millénaire 7.0 open beta! Millénaire 7.0 introduces two great new features: a reworked Norman culture and the construction of a massive, end-game marvel: Notre Dame of the New World! Head to the beta page for all the details and the download link.
Millénaire 6.2 for Minecraft 1.12 available!
Millénaire is now officially updated to 1.12.2. Download the new version on www.millenaire.org!
Millénaire is a single- and multi-player mod for Minecraft. It aims to fill the "emptyness" of single-player worlds by adding NPC villages to it, with loose 11th-century Norman, North Indian and Mayans themes and additional cultures planned.
Villages are populated with men, women and children of various kinds, who perform tasks such as trading with the player, expending current buildings or improving existing ones, cultivating crops such as wheat in Norman villages and rice in Indian ones, crafting tools and powerful amulets, etc. As the village expends, the number of villagers increases as couples have children who grow up into new adults.
Help villages grow by trading with them and be rewarded with unique items such as Normand and Indian food or statues and tapestries to decorate your house with. And if they start liking you enough, they might even build you a house of your own.
Millénaire is available in the following languages: French, English, German, Russian, Polish, Spanish, Czech, Swedish, Dutch, Portuguese, Slovenian, Hungarian, Chinese, Arab, Estonian, Norwegian, Ukrainian (more coming!)
Download Millénaire on Millenaire.org.

Making new cultures
Since Millénaire 1.4, the bulk of a new culture can be made without code (not just buildings and village types like before, but new NPCs as well). As such I'm interested in player-made cultures to integrate in the main game, provided they fit the general theme of Millénaire of "real" cultures from around the 11th century. Players interested in producing one for Millénaire should PM-me about it. If we agree on the idea, I'll provide support in the form of help on how to mod Millénaire and in the form of whatever new code might be needed (for new items, blocks or good productions), though likely not with the buildings and NPCs themselves. I reserve the right to change anything I might not like in a culture I'm shipping with the mod itself, but in practice I intend to leave as much of a free hand as possible to culture designers.Contribution welcome, it helps make Millénaire a rich game!
See what they are doing and what they need in the villages' centres.
Help Wanted
- There is a lot of content to fill up in the Millénaire Wiki, feel free to help: http://millenaire.org/wiki/
- Female and children sounds
- It would be very useful if people who have been playing for a while could post detailed accounts of how they play Millénaire, what they like/don't like, what their goals are when playing, etc. I need more comprehensive feedback, not just small reactions to individual features.
- New lone buildings: the more different kind of lone buildings (or variations of the same kind), the better. People wanting to do lone buildings in the same style as the existing ones are welcomed. You can post your creation in the thread, preferably with a screenshot. I'll add those I think fit in Millénaire.
Trade with them, to help their villages grow and gain unique blocks, foods and items.

About
With this mod you're able to display a ghost image of a schematic file inside Minecraft to rebuild a structure or export any part of your world (or a server's world) into a schematic file. You're able to export parts of your world, too!
Recommendations
The following is small compilation of mods that I recommend using. They are not mandatory, but they may make things easier for you.
- OpenEye Automatic crash reporting, the crash reports can be found here. It's an awesome mod that helps mod developers fix crashes way faster.
- Dynious' Version Checker LunatriusCore's update notifications will be replaced with an entry in Version Checker if the mod is installed.
FAQ, Help, Crash Reports Before reporting a bug, READ the FAQ. I won't be replying to posts reporting bugs/issues in the FAQ that can be fixed by the user. If I ignore you you may consider reading the FAQ.- Make sure you use the latest version of the mod. Bugs are usually fixed within a few days of reporting the bug.
- Upload (copy&paste) .minecraft/logs/fml-client-latest.log to https://gist.github.com/ and add the link to it to the post. Note: if the crash is on the server upload fml-server-latest.log instead.
- Describe what you were doing when the mod crashed. The more details, the easier for me to fix it as soon as possible. If something doesn't look right, add screenshots or optionally a video if you can.

MinecraftNotchinUnderwear posted a message on What happened to the community?Posted in: DiscussionEveryone who has been playing since beta/alpha know what I'm talking about. Back in the good old days, when chests were full blocks, and cobblestone had those dark lines, the community was mature, and respectful (I'm not saying that everyone's a jerk now) and a couple of people successfully created entertaining youtube channels, they didn't expect money, or subscribers. We had in depth mods like BTW that would add simple minecraft-like features. Now the community is made up of immature 5 year old griefers running around killing people and destroying peoples creations, youtubers are doing minecraft lets plays as an easy way to make loads of money and keep it all to them selves, saying DONATE SO I CAN MAKE ANOTHER HUGE MANSION!!! SUBSCRIBE CUZ I SAY SO AND IT WILL MAKE ME MORE MONEY!!!!!!! There are NO survival servers now, everyone's creating stupid faction servers, and mini-games (Which I personally dislike) but no one makes a simple vanilla server so people can play the game the way mojang created it. The mods too... the stupidest pointless mods are getting sooo much popularity, while the good ones have not a chance at being big. I don't mean to be Debby Downer here but really? is it just me? or is the community changing for the worse...

Syrrn posted a message on My search for a server, and what I have learned from itPosted in: PC ServersA long time ago I was bored. It was in the winter, there was not much to do. I had been playing Runescape but was growing tired of it. I came across a game called Minecraft. It sounded interesting,I believe it was only 5 bucks, so I decided to try it. I believe I only played for about a day. I kept getting killed, couldn't seem to figure out how to survive the night. I got frustrated and gave up. Forgot all about the game.
Flash forward. My son tells me about this game he wants to play, Minecraft. I remember that I had made an account so I download it again and manage to recover my account. The game turns out to be a bit too advanced for him but it gets me interested in the game again. I play single player for awhile and then decide that maybe I would try and join a server.
It was a disaster. Everywhere I went I was killed by other players. I couldn't understand what was going, no one seemed interested in helping someone who had zero experience outside of single player survival. I tried a couple different servers before I found one that I wasn't instantly killed. Somehow I had managed not to get killed immediately and a friendly moderator took me under his wing. I had never messed with redstone, plugins were completely new to me, the server was a factions server and I had no clue how that worked. This moderator took the time to explain how things worked, helped me setup my own faction, and was the first friend I had made on a server.
In time I made a couple more friends and really started to enjoy playing on a server. The more time I spent playing the more I learned. I also started to realize what I didn't like about servers. This server you could buy packages. A player could send a few bucks to the owner and they could get the ability to fly, or to use world edit, or whatever else they wanted. I found out quickly how annoying a kid could be with powers they are not responsible enough to use. I slowly started to realize that owner of the server wasn't really a player. For him it was just away to make money, he didn't seem to care what went on in the server. I stopped playing.
I wasn't looking forward to finding a new server. I had a better idea of what I liked and what I didn't like, but I was still basically a newbie. Thats when a friend of mine from the old server contacted me and told me about the server he had moved too. I joined and was surprised to see that several of my friends had moved to this new server. This server was also pure vanilla which was great for me. We did not stay on this server long though. A friend of a friend decided he would host his own server.
This new server was a new concept for me. I knew a lot of the players from previous servers. If I didn't know them, they were a friend of a friend. This was the first whitelisted server I had been on. The owner was just another player, there were no admins or mods. Nothing was built on creative mode. I was in heaven.
Nothing lasts forever though. Slowly people started disappearing. Some became bored with minecraft, some left for different modded versions. We would all still communicate on Skype but the activity on the server had died. A few people that did still play wanted to invite friends, who in turn invited their friends and soon we were accepting anyone. Whitelist was out the window and things started getting griefed. That was the end of the server.
My original group of friends had scattered and I was looking for a new server. I played towny, I played sky block, factions, vanilla, modded. I learned a lot about minecraft but never found a server I could settle in and call home. I have played enough minecraft that I know what I am looking for now.
Fresh start: The early days of a server are the most exciting times. Restarts seem to energize people. Players spend more time on Minecraft then they normally would. Everything needs done and there are a lot of projects going on. You meet new people, collaborating on projects early on leads to friendships that last the duration of the server. Everyone loves starting fresh but if you are joining a server purely because of a recent restart you may be joining for the wrong reasons. A few weeks in and spawn will be shaping up nicely, maybe the nether hub has been started, but as these projects start to wrap up activity on the server will slow down too.
Admins/Mods: If I log on to a server and see one admin, 3 mods and a builder, but only 1 regular player, I leave. I don't want to play on a server where players are competing for ranks or special privileges. If you can't play as a regular player I don't want to play with you. I am not saying you don't need moderators. I think a couple very trusted players with the ability to kick players from the server when something happens is a good idea. A moderator doesn't need any special recognition. If he does maybe you have selected the wrong person.
Creative Mode Builds: I personally hate anything built on creative mode in a survival server. I understand everyone wants a nice spawn area, or a nice nether hub, or maybe you really want an iron titan but you just don't have the time to collect all the materials. But by building this stuff in creative you are taking away projects that the community can work on together. Big projects like these bring the community together. Yes, your spawn area might be a weird collection of mismatched buildings but it will make the community stronger.
Donate for Ranks: Servers cost money, I understand that. I don't think you need to sell colorful names, special item, abilities or whatever to pay for it. If you have a solid player base they will help. Setup something through paypal so its easy for them. If you have bribe them to get them to help pay some of the costs I would worry about the longevity of your server.
Whitelist: If you want to play minecraft with a bunch of random people be prepared to deal with griefers. If you want to play minecraft with a bunch of like minded individuals get a whitelist. A whitelist is no guarantee against griefing but you would be amazed how much a simple application process slows them down. Asking someone there IGN, age, and to rate their building skill 1-10 is not much of an application. Let them tell you something about themselves. Make them put some thought into writing something instead of poorly filling out some crappy form.
Skype/Teamspeak/Facebook/Something: Give your players away to communicate with each other outside of the Minecraft. People can't always play at the same time. It really helps keep the community strong if they have away to contact each other when they are not playing. Not everyone likes to join calls but give them a place to leave messages, create a Skype group or other website forum.
I have more to add but I am running out of time, I will elaborate later.

What part of "read this whole post" did you not understand? Q: Why does my game freeze on the loading screen? -A: The most likely answer is you forgot to delete META-INF, or your archive tool didn't want to delete it. Q: Why does my game black screen? -A: There are a number of reasons this could happen, the most likely is that you're trying to play alpha through the browser. Mods don't work with the browser version. I do not care about black screens. Get me the error log. Follow the instructions under the "Linux / Other" download on www.minecraft.net. This applies to all OS. Q: Do these mods work with [older version]? -A: No, they are designed for Minecraft 1.6.2. ModLoader 1.6.2
A mod, kind of like a mod manager, that stops conflicts with mods that alter rendering, recipes, add entities, gui, smeltables or fuel. If you're a modder, feel free to decompile this and learn how to make mods work with it. Inherit BaseMod and override any methods as necessary. The mod's main class file should be prefixed with 'mod_'. Read the Javadoc for information on methods available.

Elemental Arrows 1.6.2
The Elemental Arrows mod adds four new types of arrows; explosive arrows, fire arrows, ice arrows, and a joke weapon, egg arrows.. They are crafted the same way as normal arrows, but the head is replaced based on the element; gunpowder for explosive, coal for fire, snowball for ice, and egg for, well, egg. Crafting an explosive arrow only gives you one arrow, and it explodes upon impact. Crafting a fire arrow gives you one arrow, that will ignite stuff upon impact. Crafting an ice arrow gives you one arrow, that will freeze water into ice, lava springs into obsidian, put out fire, and break torches. Egg arrows spawn chickens upon impact with the ground, but there's a secret too. Lightning arrows strike lightning where ever they hit, use diamond in recipe. Homing bow recipe is same layout as regular bow, but diamond instead of sticks. Requires ModLoader 1.6.2.

More Stackables 1.6.2
This mod makes saddles, doors, and signs up to 8 in a stack, minecarts and boats up to 4 in a stack. This is great for storage and for using workbenches, chests, or furnaces, as you no longer consume your food! Requires ModLoader 1.6.2.

Sign Tags 1.6.2
Type [time] into a sign, and it will show the current time. You can also type [x], [y], or [z] and find the current position of the sign in regards to that axis. [a|b] is a redstone input function for signs, where text replacing 'a' will be shown when the sign is powered, otherwise 'b' is shown. Type [light], and it will show you the current light level of the sign's position. [biome], [temp], [humid] each tell you the biome you're in, the temperature of that area, and the humidity of that area, respectively. [temp], [humid] will no longer function in Nether.

Death Chest 1.6.2
When you die, if you have a chest in your inventory, it will be placed where you die, or in the closest available spot. The chest will be filled with as many items as possible. Items stored in the crafting slot are still lost, as usual, and any excess that won't fit in the chest will be dropped.

AudioMod 1.6.2(Not updated for now)
AudioMod is an upgrade of sorts, and a modder's utility. Included in this mod is CodecIBXM, created by Paul at www.paulscode.com, who is the creator of the sound system used in Minecraft. It allows Minecraft to play (in addition to ogg, wav, and mus files), xm, s3m, and mod files. The only readily available feature of this mod is the ability to add new music, however, it adds support for modders to add new records and sound effects. There is a slight increase in load time when using this mod. Using this, you can also use custom sounds, alongside the originals. Custom music and sound goes into the resources folder, music in mod/music. Custom sounds go into mod/sound. For example, if I were to add a new footstep sound effect to stone, I'd put the new stone1.ogg in mod/sound/step. In game, the new sound would occasionally be played, alongside the originals. Custom sounds for things like the menu click and water do not always work, at the moment.

Floodgate 1.6.2
Floodgate block can be used as either a floodgate, allowing toggleable water and lava falls, or as a trapdoor. When you place the floodgate control block, it will place a gate in front of the control block in the direction you are facing. Applying redstone power to this will remove the gate. Use the control block to open the GUI where you can place supporting blocks that will replace how the gate looks. Requires ModLoader 1.6.2.
The recipe:

Spawner GUI 1.6.2
Adds a GUI to all mob spawners, that will allow you to pick what mob to spawn. I also reallowed mining spawners. You can disable spawners with redstone aswell. Should be compatible with all mobs, but don't expect the mobs with special spawn conditions to work everywhere. Animals require grass, Monsters require darkness, Slimes require being in their special chunks, and 0-16 depth. Requires ModLoader 1.6.2.

Block Distortion 1.6.2
This mod is just an experiment. Everything that is 3D (Mostly noticeable on blocks) has a random distortion. Known issues include: Clouds randomize as they move across the sky, held items look rather odd, and GUI elements may be screwed up. I don't recommend using this mod long.

Biosphere 1.6.2
This is a new generator. You may select this generator in More World Options when creating world. In this generator, the world is made up of massive spheres with glass domes. Inside these spheres are random biomes. There is a random chance of a lake being placed in the center of each sphere. Usually water, but rarely lava. Bordering this lake you will find sand for water, or gravel for lava. Connecting each sphere is a wooden bridge with fence rail. Beside each sphere is a smaller sphere, which is where you will find diamond and lapis lazuli. These ores only occur here, the others are equally spread throughout the spheres. The cave generator used here is a modified Nether cave generator, where like on the surface, will generate lava below a certain level. if this lava reaches the outside, an obsidian wall will be made to hold it in. Many options can be changed in ".minecraft/config/Biosphere.cfg". Requires ModLoader 1.6.2.

Armor Stand 1.6.2
This block will give you a place to show off your armor. Just place the block and right click on the platform. You can choose from a selection of skins to hold your armor, as well as have it stare at you, constantly. You may also change the texture of platform by putting block in the last slot. Known issues include: placing a block inside of dummy, standing on its head, possible inability for mobs to path around it. Recipe is 3 solid stone blocks along bottom, with 2 sticks in the middle. Requires ModLoader 1.6.2.

Azanor posted a message on [WIP] Thaumcraft 3 [WIP NO LONGER]Posted in: WIP ModsThaumcraft 3 has been released.
ThaumCraft 3by Azanor
I'm creating this thread as a "Think-tank" for my planned spiritual successor to ThaumCraft. As much as I love Thaumcraft I feel it has become "just another tech mod". While there is nothing wrong with that I think I can do better
ArcanaCraft will inherit many of the blocks, items and features from ThaumCraft, but with an even greater focus on magic. The thread for Thaumcraft can be found here: http://www.minecraft...ted-on-1052012/
Planned Changes- Aura will play a much greater role and will be much more dynamic.
- Vis will not exist as it does currently (for the most part). Items and blocks that require magical power will (for the most part) draw it directly from the aura.
- Taint will still be around and still be "in the air" like Aura, but the two will no longer be opposing forces
- A greater emphasis on research and experimentation along with a much improved research system that does not boil down to burning cobble/bookcases in the hope of winning the lotto.

MCFUser6867051 posted a message on ENCHANTMENTS ARE COMPLETELY ******!I've enchanted several thousands of tools.Posted in: Recent Updates and Snapshots
A large majority of them were level 50 grindfest enchants.
And guess what? None of them are useless. Quit bitching.
Just because YOU don't use it doesn't make it completely useless. I don't ever use wood tools, gold tools, or lapis actively.
Let's remove that too!
Smite actually 1 shots skeles/zombies much more. Projectile protection is much better for PvP than protection. The only bad enchant is arthropods, and even IT is an improvement over the regular sword.
Enchantments are already bone-easy to get, quit whining. - To post a comment, please login.

Wonderful server to start on, not too many over complicated plugins, and enough to keep yourself entertained for hours upon end, I recommend this server 10/10! Hundreds of Hours of Playtime, and Easy to Gain ranks by voting.

Define for me "Real Minecraft" As Minecraft is a Sandbox game and Will always be a Sandbox game. It is your Choice to play on that Version of minecraft or not. They are not Forcing you to play anything, As you are Choosing to play it yourself.
Yes things are getting too easy, but what do you think a Snapshot is for? Testing. That is why they are Releasing the snapshots to test what people's Reactions will be for the upcoming 1.3 update.
