posted a message on What projects are you working on?
A ship with a steel-and-gold swan figurehead is my main project right now. I'm also sort of working on cleaning up some of the tunnels in my main mine.

posted a message on Cool things to do in Minecraft?
I tend to just make random things around my base when I get bored but don't yet have the nerve to turn monsters back on. I started with a rose garden on a platform in the air as an homage to The Adolescence of Utena. Then I started making a ship with a swan figurehead because I was on a Tolkien kick. (Actually, I still haven't finished it - I keep having to go and get more steel.) I also went on a sheep-shearing adventure so that I could dye enough wool to make a rainbow pride flag.

It'd be neat to have a little radar up in the corner showing the location and field-of-vision of the monsters. But that's just because I play too much Metal Gear Solid.

I tend to hum this one. (I even posted a sign reading "Look down, look down..." at the main entrance to my mine.)

posted a message on your chest organzing system?
I have two chests inside my shelter - one for useful/pretty materials and the other for food/plants. Then out behind the house, I have a "rock repository" chest where I stick cobblestone, dirt, and sand.

I think horses (or other critters) that can be controlled while you're riding them would be nice.

    YES. YESYESYESYES.

It's a shame he died just recently. -.- I still have a large ass collection of his books in my shelf, I read some still every now and then. Moar info?

Man... I cried when I found out. (My cousin and I were really big fans of the series - even attempted our own version of the hedgehog spiketussling sport once.)

Poison headcrabs and their corresponding zombies in Half-Life 2. I never finished the Ravenholm level because I kept getting so freaked out. (Well, that and because the thing autosaved when I was out of ammo in a location where you've got maybe three or four seconds before a bunch of baddies show up.)

posted a message on So everybody killed monsters all night long?(Playstyle poll)
I was late to the party - started playing after beds were introduced. So for me, they just seem like a nice normal feature. Of course, before I had enough material to build a bed (I kept getting lost while out looking for sheep... it's kind of embarrassing), I just spent part of the night making things out of wood and replacing the walls of my house block by block because I found being surrounded by cobblestone to be too dreary, and the rest looking out my door waiting impatiently for the sun to rise.

posted a message on Were beds a mistake?
Cheap or not, I like beds. I only do single-player anyway, so it's not like I'm preventing anyone else from going out and fighting monsters. In a big sandboxy game like this, it just doesn't seem very nice to tell other people that the way they choose to play is somehow wrong. Why would we be given the option to lower the difficulty level in the first place if not wanting to face hordes of monsters unprepared is such a bad thing?
