I like the idea of a stronghold compass. But I think it might be a little bit OP... maybe it could have a timer? (As in, the item only lasts for, say, 2 minutes, and then it breaks)
What do you think?
that could work but it may not be as OP as it seems. How many eyes of ender dose it normally take to find a stronghold? you could just just add the average amount to the crafting recipe and the added crafting materials, like compass and/or village finder would just guarantee you have enough eyes of ender to find and fill the portal.
There is a conflict between this mod and Gany's Nether. Setting ganysnether under Recipes to false will fix the crash but you may want to have a more permanent solution
So i have been away from modded Minecraft for a while and I decided to download the latest dierwolf20 pack. While doing a little customization of the pack i found this little gem. Not knowing what it was I looked it up. Come to find out it is another ingenious mod by Gany! thanks again for joinning the mine craft modding community you have done so much.
i just have a comment and a question about the thermal oven you are considering from the surface mod thread. since the only resource that is available in both the overworld and the nether (because of this mod)is cobble i would suggest the recipe use cobble it can be shaped like the bookshelf recipe from biblio craft using six cobble and three cobble slabs instead of the wood.
as for the question are you going to limit it's cecipies to only non metals or are you just going to make it slower?
just a thought about the encasing bench. in stead of making the process free you could add an extra slot for wood planks. it would be a cheep cost making the process not too painful while adding a little balance and logic. after all where does the crate come from?
i also have an idea for the new thermal oven but i will leave it on the nether forum.
Sorry I missed the poll. Moving and such has kept me busy. If you added something along the lines of the ender infusion table. I would be happy with your mods as far as 1.6 goes. And would be interested to see what you could come up with using the tools in 1.7
Ah ok so metallurgy metal effects aren't added to say a pickaxe nor are the speed/dig lvl?
I'm not saying there isn't stuff to do, far from it, don't get me wrong.
I'm just saying that if you take out vanilla making like we're considering, in order to use more the non-metal reagents before you progress to metal tree, you gotta turn it off for metallurgy too else you'd try to jump to metallurgy stuff long before TiC stuff, if nothing, for ease of making and metallurgy effects on metals and tools/weapons.
the durability mining speed and dig lvl are all implemented just not the built in enchant like effects.
First, bear with me as I'm fairly new to the mod. I've just kinda figured out how to tinker with TiC and make tools and weapons. Immediately I realized that first thing I should have done when making this version of the world on my server is deactivate vanilla tools as it makes some of TiC stuff obsolete. The thing is, the recipes for metallurgy stuff suffer from the same problem in that why bother smelting stuff if you can crush it to still get that 1:2 output and then furnace smelt into ingots and make tools without making a smeltery and casts and getting lava. I realize you can't otherwise make all the extra weapons/tools, but what are the stats when you do? How do they compare to regular metallurgy made stuff?
So my question is, is there a way to basically disable default toolmaking with metallurgy ingots so that you have to use TiC, and once made through TiC, would tools and weapons retain all the stats and abilities that they normally get as assigned by metallurgy?
first of all the biggest advantage to making anything into a TiC tool is that you do not loose the item when it brakes and it is much easier to repair. another advantage is you can use different materials for different parts of the tool to make it better suited to to task you want it to do. the last advantage is all of the modifiers that can be used to make the tool even more powerful. in other words even withe vanilla tools still enabled the TiC tools are superior so it is not really necessary to remove the vanilla tools either. besides currently with this mod not finished there are some advantages in using the metallurgy vanilla tools like the built in effects on the swords at least until it gets implemented in this mod
Oh i have been using the custom stuff mod but i thought i would post a suggestion here in hopes that it would be supported locally and i could eventually remove the extra mod..
I posted this on the main thread but this may belong here
i am using the "All the world is supper fun" setting in my nether survival mod pack. it is very use full but i have a few problems with it. first of all it messes up the ore berry bush generation and i am a huge fan of them. second it dose not change the generation above a certain height (I assume it was implemented before the height increase). the second one is not a big deal because i just disable all the biomes in BOP that generate that high but it would be nice to have more variety especially since i have already removed the biomes that either spawn passive mobs or generate trees.
