It pisses off severely indecent human beings such as yourself and all the other people whining all over the forums.
But honestly, the MineCraft fanbase has grown to a point where everything added is going to **** off loads of people no matter what, so it's most likely gotten to a point where they add things simply because they want to.
I'm amazed how people can become so angry over such simple things. If they add something I initially think is bad, I give it time and begin to enjoy it. There are so many more methods of acquiring food now that it just adds a new interesting challenge to the game.
I'll probably get a lot of backlash but whatever, I just thought I'd put my two cents in.
EDIT: Well it looks like you've tried asking in a less offensive manner earlier. I should say that a majority of the people posting on the forums here are all angry and upset either because they don't like the new features or they don't like all the people complaining about the new features.
I wouldn't recommend arguing about it here, because, well... everyone is angry.
They are physically ugly yet aesthetically pretty.
This has to be the best way to put it. I feel like in MineCraft, you're sort of just thrown into an alien world, so it would make sense that nothing around you actually LOOKS like you.
It would be interesting if later on, if you attempt to attack these monk-like characters, that they will attempt to run away, and warior/guard NPC's will begin to pursue you. Like the Zombie Pigmen, but some run away instead of fighting depending on their type.
Oh wow o_o, I haven't had internet for more than(?) a month (Just because I've been away from home working), and when I get internet again we have Multiplayer Survival mode? This is really awesome!... but I have a problem already x_x...
I just joined the "IanFitz's Loosely Moderated Server" and the level started loading. I started to walk around and someone said "KuroBit is starting the fires" and I got banned from the server... Is there any chance I could be let back in? x_x...
Ah, I haven't been on the forums for a few months, but this post made me want to come back :tongue.gif:.
I'm a bit rusty since I haven't made skins in so long, but here's my attempt at Zero: (Click to download)
Did you shop this or is this a brawl map? If it's a map, then you sir, win.
It's a model and texture replacement (and collision edit) of Final Destination. I replaced the background and stage with a flat 2D object, and put one in the back, and set it's texture to the MineCraft sky, and the foreground is this image:
That pink glow below the characters is where the crystal in the center of the stage used to be. I don't know how to remove that :tongue.gif:.
Hahaha, I can't wait to see the final product of this. I think I might do line #12 if I can. This just seems too awesome not to contribute for XD.
(If I can't do it for some reason, feel free to kick me out and have someone else do it, I've got finals these next 2 weeks, so I'm really busy... hopefully I can do it...)
SMP was faster at sending this one too. :tongue.gif:
I ended up getting really sick so there was no way I was going to be able to record mine XD. Sorry about that.
I definitely like the new model (as long as the head proportions and the blushes are fixed pronto). It has plenty of complexity in it, and should lead to some new ideas for skins and whatnot. That said, it's only a concept, and it will change frequently.
The logo, that said, needs improvement. The curve needs to be more straightened out, and the font should change as well.
Aside from those tiggly-niggily bits, Dock's doing a decent job here.
You basically have the same exact opinion as me for some reason XD (right down to the head proportions and blushes), but I think this could lead in a good direction. I mean, Even if you don't like the model, you'll be able to skin it to your tastes. (And I couldn't quite figure out if Notch said something about custom models? or maybe it was a choice of a few custom models to put your skins on or something...?)
That title though, it just seems way too happy. It seems like it's a game made more for a much younger audience, instead of an audience of all age-ranges. I think games like this should balance out certain elements so it's not to childish for older audiences, but not too violent or dull for younger audiences. But again, these are all concepts, so we'll just have to wait and see what happens. I'm much more exited then I am worried about the changes.
EDIT: Also, I'm pretty sure Dock knows what he's doing since he's worked on multiple commercial games in the past. :tongue.gif:
EDIT 2: I guess I got into this a bit late, I didn't realize there was such a big heated discussion over this... I hope I'm not fueling anything...

I also made this one a long time ago:

That's fine XD.
For anyone who still doesn't believe me, Here's a video of me playing on the stage:
Sorry about the quality, but a little (at least 8 year old) web-cam was all I had.

I don't really have a way to record off my TV... (unless I use the old camera pointed at the TV trick x_x)

I haven't figured out a way to add 3D objects, but I think it still came out good :tongue.gif:.
EDIT: I thought the image would be convincing enough, but since you may think it's fake, here's a video of me playing on the stage:
Sorry about the quality...

If your talking about the things that just looked like legs though, those things where creepy.

I can't imagine MineCraft without blocky large-headed pixelated people running around... :tongue.gif:
