Threw together my own attempts at an Eld style firework, did three variations. A more standard one that looks like the default texture, and two different more rocket looking ones.

    posted a message on Eldpack v3.8b (may 22 ) ----- ( v1.2.5 compatible )
    Quote from Jman37X

Greetings, all! Some of you may remember me from when Eld went on his hiatus right before the pack was updated to 1.2.5, I was basically the coordinator of the fan-updated version of the pack. Firstly, I'd like to congratulate Eld on apparently getting hired by Mojang! I had no idea that happened until just a few days ago, but that's really amazing. However, that does mean that he might not have as much time to work on the pack, and a combination of my love of this pack, my desire to help the community, and sheer boredom, I decided that I'm going to give my attempt at once again, managing a community-driven update to the pack. If anyone has any contributions they would like to share that they would like me to use, feel free to post them here, or sent them via messaging, although I would prefer just posting them here. If anyone remembers how I did it before, I not only had updated versions of some things that recent updates need, but we started touching up on old things that he looked over, as well as we had an alt.png document that had additional textures for some customization. I'm going to spend some time looking through earlier posts in this thread, searching for things people posted in the past, but if you guys could help with this in any way possible, I would really appreciate it. I'm gonna try and make my own versions of textures and such, and will sometimes post updates of my progress, so feedback is appreciated. Well, I think that just about wraps up my little announcement. I would highly appreciate any help you guys can give, and I'm hoping that we can make this work like we did last time! :D

Then here you go, here's some basic stuff I've managed to get done.

    http://img546.images...letonwither.png
    Skeleton recoloured to Netherrack pallette.

    http://img849.images...6076/itemsu.png
Mob Skulls added, Leather Armour greyscaled and lightened to work with dyes, Paper copied to Empty Map position as a Placeholder, Painting copied and edited slightly in the item frame position.

Command Block and Item Frame background done, other items just copied over from default as placeholders.

I think the whole argument is a bit stupid and pointless. And I find the idea of "if you don't support them by watching the ads, you're stealing" to be ridiculous, just seems like a load of white-knighting to me.

    Quote from DuckTapeDemon

hi i am being hacked on my own minecraft server they somehow got onto my account eventhough i changed my pass three times already please help me out

If they're changing your pass, I'm assuming you mean your account, not server?

In which case it could be that you somehow downloaded a keylogger, I'd advise to scan your computer for viruses and malware.

Might also be worth changing your password from another computer if you can.

posted a message on Do you think the Minecraft Edu mod will benefit education?
    Quote from BC_Programming

And how does minecraft 'teach' these? Specifically, how does it teach these at all?

    -Creativity:
It doesn't teach creativity, it allows people to express it. More importantly, the same intellectual effect can be had with any artistic medium- finger-painting, for example.

I would say that it teaches creativity through experimentation and having to take consideration of the rules and limitations that exist within Minecraft, and work within that to produce something.

    Quote from BC_Programming
    -Maths:

It doesn't teach this at all. It has no more numbers than everyday life, more importantly, the maths that are involved are so simple that no person old enough to play a game would benefit from it, unless they were already developmentally challenged.

No more numbers than everyday life for a seven year old? Besides Maths class, I don't recall too much dealing numbers at that age. But how can you say Minecraft doesn't teach maths? Minecraft requires people to work out basic equations all the time, for example; "I need to make 7 Iron Pickaxes, how many Iron Ingots will I need?". The point is it's getting the kids to practice maths.

    Quote from BC_Programming
    -teamwork:

No. Sure, there can be an element of teamwork, but guess what, for one thing, it's optional. For another, how is this better than simply playing team sports? It's not.

It's not worse than team sports either. As for being optional? With a teacher present, it's quite possible for them to be made to work as a team.

    Quote from BC_Programming
    -communication:

Not even sure how you came up with that.

Came up with that one, because communication is a big part of working as a team, if you're unable to properly communicate with those around you, they're not going to understand.

    Quote from BC_Programming
    -using a computer

Not even close. For one thing lwjgl hardly presents the same consistent UI as the rest of the system, for another, most people learn to use a computer by using a computer, so it's not going to make a difference if they are playing a game or doing something else to do that. It doesn't so much teach anybody anything, but it rather get's them used to the standard FPS controls. See if that get's you any jobs on your CV: "familiar with WASD keyboard controls".

Right, so if we have a full classroom full of kids on Minecraft, it's safe to assume they're not communicating to each other through typing, they're just shouting around the room, aren't they? Please.

    Quote from BC_Programming
    -problem solving

And again, how does it do this any better than normal social interaction with real people? It doesn't. And the game in no way encourages that behaviour.

No way to encourage this behaviour? So basically the teacher is just sticking them on this game, and not giving them objectives, not doing anything, he's just slacking off and drinking coffee, right?
