Nothing major, just a very simple edit that makes the pumpkins into creeper trophies for your amusement.

You will have to properly rename these for them to work.

    Pick one.

I have been calling it Crimsonite, but if I must choose one of your proposed names then I'd prolly go with Red or Bloodstone. Most other names, primarily ones based on real world substances, sound silly to me.

    Download v1.0.0-ish

    Bonus Rick skin!

This is a total conversion for Minecraft classic Survival based on the classic game Splatterhouse 2. It includes world and enemy re-textures as well a fully playable recreation of the Splatterhouse 2 game. You will have to manually apply the textures to your minecraft.jar file in order to properly enjoy this mod. Once you are playing, the rules are fairly simple; Do not add or remove any blocks unless you absolutely have to, excluding the door blocks in the house, Try to avoid creepers as I did not make the map creeper-proof  , and lastly, survive until you reach the end (a black room with no exit).

Though it is playable, it is far from complete. I still need to expand upon and add much more detail to many areas. I figured that since it is fully playable now then I might as well release it and get some valuable feedback.

I will edit this post with any new information as I feel necessary.

I have yet to see a well thought-out system involving levels.

To that, I point you to this.

Seriously people, consider that. A system that gives a very slight but noticeable benefits to people for doing whatever they like to do. It doesn't add a grind, you wont be going out killing thousands upon thousands of mobs just so you can spawn camp someone who is too stupid to play on a different server, it doesn't change the way you play at all. You like to farm and bake bread? Then do it! after doing it a bit you'll find that your crops grow slightly faster, yields more wheat and seeds, bread bakes faster, and heals a bit more. That's not game breaking, doesn't allow for spawn camping, barely separates the new players from the veterans, and is a nice reward for doing what you love.

posted a message on WE SHOULD BE ABLE TO RIDE PIGS.
I actually rather like the idea of having pigs as mounts. If for anything, they would be the perfect counter-balance to a fortress raid, should multiplayer survival have PVP. Look at it this way; a fortress would likely be garrisoned with archers, lots of em.. and archers would provide an overwhelming defensive advantage for the following reasons:
High ground, heavy cover, large supply stash, and knowledge of the area.
    An attacker would have:
Low ground in the field of fire, little or no cover, limited supplies, and little or no knowledge of the area, slow movement speed.
The only way anyone could mount a successful attack on such a position would be either A: have something that negates the disadvantage and levels the playing field, or B: be Spartans. As cool as Spartans would be, choice A seems like the best bet, but how would you accomplish this? Short answer - pig mounts. Give tamed pigs a couple inventory slots to hold extra armor/arrows/etc. some decent health to take some hits, and a nice speed increase to out-run the archers arrows and get in close for the kill. If things look bad then you could jump off your pig and use it as cover while you darken the sky with your own arrows.

Until multiplayer survival is released though, I must say that it does take an extremely long amount of time to cross a large map and a mount to speed things up would be very nice.

Off-topic a bit, but the only other things I can think of to beef attackers up to defenders are Chinese/Dwarven rocket launchers or fire arrows to destroy the archers' cover and supplies from afar.

You'se gits been talkin' bad 'bout my pig now 'ave ya?

posted a message on Stone Wireframe
I was exploring some caves on my map when I thought, "It would be nice if I had some sort of probe or could see through stone so I could know if there are any nearby caves to mine into." Since there is no radar or probing device, I did the latter. these are the results:

I'm not sure if anyone else has done this before or not, but I still found it to be pretty cool. Here is the tile set I used if you are interested.

It's designed to fit the rest of my rainy skins, as well as replace glass with grating, so its near-useless to anyone that doesn't have the rest of the skins. I plan on releasing em eventually, though there are several others out there that are probably much better in quality and style...

Anyway, this did just give me an idea of making a wire frame texture mod which may look pretty neat. I'll likely update this post with it when I finish it.

Edit: Done before or not, here is a wire frame and solid color tile set.

Krim, do you mind if I change some of those and use them? I wouldn't distribute them and would give you the credit.

Go ahead, you can do whatever you want with em.

posted a message on How to set up a gaming controller with minecraft!
    http://www.electracode.com/4/joy2key/Jo ... ersion.htm
It's simple, free, and works with just about any type of input device you may be using.
though I prefer using a mouse and keyboard, I'd think that a gamepad of some sort would be quite nice in creative games, especially if you want to relax and watch others build things.

Just finished making this for myself when I found your post. It uses the external head mesh to make the eye more expressive when looking up and down.
