I'm not sure if it's solely because of the lanterns or if it's because I just fought an Ice and Fire dragon and the forest caught on fire, but I've already had to close minecraft twice because of a lag (the one where entities and items don't respond at all, forgot what it's called) the first time I encountered these lanterns in a survival scenario.

Checking the logs, I found this:

[15:32:09] [Server thread/WARN] [minecraft/WorldServer]: Keeping entity mowziesmobs:lantern that already exists with UUID 618607cb-5e6c-493f-860a-c62a9d030a6a

And I'm not sure if they have something to do with the lag, but these also appeared:

This one came up as I loaded the world in the forest:

[15:32:06] [Server thread/WARN] [minecraft/EntityList]: Skipping Entity with id minecraft:

And this one when I flew around the forest (with wings from the Wings mod):

[15:32:12] [Client thread/WARN] [minecraft/NetHandlerPlayClient]: Received passengers for unknown entity

Again, not too sure if the lanterns caused those since I have a pretty good amount of other mods installed when these occurred.

Just played with the newest mobs and...

...I love the naga so much. Its fight is already cool enough, but its design as well as its motions are oh-so mesmerizing to look at. The animation for that corkscrew dive (if that's what it's called) is my personal favorite.

you can already get his armour?...

The helm's obtainable, yes, but I'm 90% sure LeJuanisimo wanted the rest of the armor, chestplate and what have you.

    Got another idea here:

If you were to make neutral tribes/villages/kingdoms, I think it's fair game that you allow them to have something in their arsenal that they'll unleash upon the player should they decide to commit acts of hostility against them. It could be some sort of divine blessing from their deity, or maybe advanced armory, or maybe even hulking beasts which they have tamed.

I know it's unlikely, but now I'm just imagining some sort of Eskimo-esque tribe member riding a Frostmaw chasing after a player.

Now that I think about it, how do you feel about adding kingdoms in this mod? Would it feel too weird for a mod like this?

All these talk about a beautiful whale made of light made me think: instead of making it another thing in the world that just wants to kill you, maybe have it be a peaceful giant that is quite a sight to behold instead? Imagine just being outside at day doing whatever you'll be doing when you look up into the sky and see this majestic beast soaring ever so gently in the wide skies.

One method of interaction for these beasts that I currently have in mind is that some type of roost structure would spawn around the world on ground level and the beast will land on it for a brief break before going back to their flight. There, the player could interact with them however they want, including killing them if the player wants to feel like a complete monster.

And if it's not too tall of an order, maybe the player could stand atop them while they're roosted so they can join in on the beast's next flight. During the flight, the player is given free movement on the creature's back, giving them the liberty to look down upon what they are currently flying over.

As for what the creature's appearance is, well a whale made of light is already majestic enough on its own but if you feel as if there's something that should be changed with that, then feel free to do so. Definitely feel free cause this is your mod. :P

Also another idea I have, separate from the previous one, is another tribe, this time made up of brutish and menacing warriors each surpassing your height by about 1 or 2 blocks. To counteract their individual might, they all have terrible temper and an even more terrible synergy in team fights. In other words, if done right, the player might as well just sit back and watch as these brutes all take each other out until only one remains and then the player can end this survivor with ease.

As for the leader of this tribe, well of course they would have to be capable of commanding fear over such unruly brutes to be worthy of being their leader. As such, one of two things they could have for the maybe-inevitable boss battle between their tribe and the player is a loud yell that would cease any infighting between tribe members and the player would have to go through the procedure of getting them back against each other's throat again. The other is that if the leader were to accidentally hit any of their underlings, said underlings won't retaliate at all for obvious reasons.

If you could be a little less ambiguous and a little more to the point, that would probably speed up conversation a bit. :)

I could see Bob answer this message with another: "All depends. What did you have in mind?"

Well I guess I really do need to be a little more specifc, so yeah I'll try doing that.

What I meant by having a "minigame" gimmick is that the usual hack and slashing wouldn't work on this mob(I mean you kinda already did the same with the wroughtnaut with all that attack their backs thing which I really like but this is different). This gimmick would have you do something else that isn't merely swinging your sword.

For example: The "hot potato" gimmick I mentioned earlier. If you know the game "Hot potato" , then I guess you'll know what this is leading to. This mechanic would have it so that the mob catches you, it would attach the "hot potato" onto you which will damage you if you don't get rid of it in time, and to get rid of it, you must catch that mob, who will now be running away from you, and pass that "hot potato" back to it, who, in turn will chase you again until it can attach the "hot potato" back onto you, and the whole thing repeats until time runs out. Of course, if the mob has the "hot potato" on it, that mob will take the damage instead.

....yeah it feels like I didn't really give the best example here.

Of course, this entire "minigame" gimmick would only work well if it comes from some miniboss/boss that you'll willingly approach because being forced into a "minigame' everytime a mob like this spots you does not sound like a pleasant experience at all.

I was really just asking in general so I don't really have any fleshed out ideas but maybe a mob that has a "hot potato" gimmick in it?

Mowzie how do you feel about mobs who have combat systems that are more more akin to minigames than actual combat? Just wondering.

Just out of curiosity-taken-to-the-extreme, is that sprite in the video's thumbnail going to be a thing in the mod or is it just there as some sort of mascot for the mod?

    Let's see here:

    • That frown definitely isn't nice to look at.
    • Those pitch-black spaces making the eyes, the noses, and the mouth is just unpleasant.
    • That character is just nightmarish and everything he does is terrifying(Yeah I saw that creepypasta a while ago).
    • In fact, that's not even the character itself. It's an apparition of him...or something.
    • The entire "face" is actually made of "Kill" in red being spammed over the screen.
    • The first time I saw it, I legitimately became scared for days.

    Just a li'l mechanic idea:

Give the mob an initial weak point where, if hit, will cause the mob to stagger. Then, before the mob can recover, the player can strike a new weak point to cause the mob to fall down, giving the player a chance to attack said mob.

    An Example:

Some hulking bipedal mob has said initial weak point on its face. Hit its face and the mob will stagger backwards. While it's doing that, you can then hit them at their heel to cause them to completely fall backwards.

Can't I just use Google to search for Atlantis?

    ...eh? EHHH??

Fine. I'd pick aquatic mecha because with that, I can go and beat up whatever tries to attack me down there. And if there's nothing that will attack me down there, then I'd still have a mecha, and that's quite cool on its own.

The next poster shall now have an incomplete fate given to them..... also they are now incomplete. Like, they're missing several pieces of their body.

I just recently downloaded the new update and now there's constant lightning strikes and occasionally, a lightning would directly hit me. I was even once under a roof and it still somehow passed through it and hit me. And yes, the sky was clear and I wasn't in a Storm plains(I was in an extreme hill biome).
