    I am working on a texture pack, and it is supposed to have a perfect atmosphere. But I can't seem to get the lighting right. So I need someone who can use the Custom Colours mod to make wonders happen.

    The nights and shadows have to be blue-ish, dawn and dusk as beautiful as possible. Normal daytime. But torches have to emit orange light, that turns blue further away.

    I will reward you with honour, credit, and a skin or something if you want one. PM me if you can do it.

    posted a message on Practice city in the Medieval style. Constructive Criticism welcome. (update #3 August 22)
    A tip by a city builder: When doing medieval cities: Build taller and denser. What you've got there is a village. I'll make a list of complaints, in addition to this:
    • The bridge looks to modern. Try to go with a simple stone arch look.
    • A church wouldn't have that many spires, and a church that size should have a much larger tower.
    • A town hall would likely be made of stone, and look chunkier and more majestic.
    • Try making the roads irregular, and out of gravel. The straight slab roads look wrong.
    • Don't have large squares of grass, like gardens, in the city. Space is precious, people would build very dense.

    The balcony with deck chairs isn't very medieval. Also, stone roofs are very heavy. Interior is empty, and I personally don't like the shape. But it certainly isn't bad.

    A crossbow would be able to shoot without drawback, useful i.e. when meeting an enemy around a corner. Should also have more disadvantages, like shorter range or something.

    No, the thing is that the biome overlay doesn't do that much anymore. I know how to edit the colours, and it worked before, but it isn't as cool now.

    You remember some patches ago? Where you, with the right texture pack, could see very different coloured grass in one area? Well. I tried to make my texture pack like that, and failed. I can make the colours for the plains biome i.e. all sparkly and blue and green and orange and yellow, but the grass will stay green.

    (Not so extreme) example, provided by Glimmar, of Glimmar's Steampunk:
