Please, finish your projects when you start then and don't use silly unstable and unreliable mechanics on them.

This was so frustrating to watch until I unsubscribed.

    Quote from Xinkc

I don't understand what the problem is. How are the sounds broken?

There is a closing sound and a open sound for doors.

However, when you activate a door, you get either sounds at random.

But you must be very endgame to be able to bulid a house out of iron blocks, and given that quartz is as common as iron, it'll be very time-consuming to have enough quartz to build a house.

ore generation frequency ≠ frequency of player finding the ore.

Try to go to the nether, you will see it everywhere in the walls, in the floor and in the ceilling.
Not only that, but the nether is made of big open space, which make it even easier to find.

I wasn't aware that I sounded like I thought the earlier terrain was perfect. :c

I thought it was clear that everything I say is highly opinionated and based off of personal preference. D: (1.7.3's still best terrain gen, Not my favorite development phase but the terrain was effing WONDERFUL...Dat gargamel.

Well the title can be interprated in many ways.

Fair enough, but you should try living in or clearing out a jungle one day. it's a nice green.

If you're reffering to cave game then I'm going to be sick, Not even the fact that the grass was a beutiful shade of neon could save the fact that cave game was HIDEOUS.

    Yes. it was horrible.

I envy you, As ugly as pre survivaltest looked I would murder a puppy to have witnessed it.

But alas, When the forum I was on kept referring to "minecraft" I dismissed it as some ty WoW ripoff because I knew nothing about it and minecraft's a dumb name. :c

When I knew minecraft for the first time, it was about a day or two after notch posted his first video on his channel. it was by accident.

To any people who say something about neon green: How is the grass/leaves color related to terrain generation?

    For me:

Jungle and mushroom biome grass(not mycellium, it's the same color as the jungle one.) is a nice tone of green.
    Plains grass fine.
Ice/snow related biome grass is meh, but you won't see much of it because the whole point of them is being covered in snow.
Deserts grass, you won't see much of it since you need to put dirt/silk touch to really see it. It depend also if I'm into the whole "dry" feel of the deserts.
Swamp grass feel dark and...swampy. not really pretty but it make the biome a swamp.
EH grass, don't really like it much, but I Still think more trees on them would make the color more nice for some reason.

Not sure if I missed something.

I never said that the "neon green terrain generator" was better. In fact, I've never even tried Alpha. Nor Indev, nor Infdev. Whatever.
My personal favorite is 1.7. When did I say I prefer Indev terrain anyway?

The whole topic is about those type of terrain and the guy you responded to was making a sarcastic remark about that type of terrain.
Sure you didn't say it about the indev generator, but you didn't say you talked about the 1.7 (or any other) generator too.

Well when you say you are quitting minecraft like it's a big deal to everyone, this seem a bit selfish.

Sure you can like monthly updates full of glitches and not liking certain block ect. But many think otherwise.

anyways If you are really quitting minecraft like you said, goodbye.

I really hope you're being sarcastic.
You just can't compare the 1.8 terrain generator to any of the previous ones. Really, the 1.8 generator is so dull and boring. It almost doesn't have any proper mountains either, and don't even get me started on the ocean biomes.

I hope you are kidding when you say that this neon green terrain generator is better than anything.
At least 1.7 and post 1.8 ones are way better on any point than this.

Don't confuse beaches and deserts. You just can't have them near each other, as the temperature always changes smoothly. So you will see some transitions.

I wasn't beaches at all, unless beaches extend to hundred blocks for no reasons at all.

    Quote from Exalm

Green islands — Of course the older versions have less features. But don't forget that the Floating type was never default. But it was available. Is it available now? No. Notch implemented Sky Dimension generator (It was later changed to be finite and generate the End stone instead of overworld-like terrain and used in the End), so they can easily add a corresponding world type, but they don't.

My point since the beginning isn't that the current the terrain gen is the very best, or that the the 1.7 is the best one. My point is is that the old, old terrain generator that generated those islands (and the default terrain) is the same neon green biome everywhere is not that good and is barren when you compare it to the other generators.

    I meant a smooth mountain.

And when I said about consistense, I didn't meantthe existense of biomes, but the taiga and jungle together.
In 1.7.3 that's also impossible: Rainforest will be near seasonal forest, it will be near forest -> plains ->savanna or desert.
Or desert -> savanna -> shrubland -> tundra -> taiga. Or plains -> forest -> taiga -> tundra.

And not jungle -> taiga -> desert -> tundra -> jungle.

I had snow biome multiple times near ones that shouldn't in 1.7, like the desert. But that doesn't make any good on both terrain generator.

And more importantly, neon green land/island has none of both terrain generator features.
