Very nice buildings! I love how you built everything, but if I may make a suggestion. I noticed that you use mostly one material for each building, more of a variety usually makes things look more interesting and intricate. Try it out and see if you like it!
Thanks man, and as for your suggestion: I've been trying to build using different blocks, but it never seems to turn out quite right (refer to the pub/inn picture). Until I can figure out how to mesh different blocks and make it look good, I'll stick to wooden houses and stone brick buildings :smile.gif:
Here's some stuff I built for my little town of Hammacher Schlemmer (named after Hammacher Schlemmer ).
The Towers
Some towers w/ interior shots of the right tower (POV based off pic #1). The left tower is currently empty, and neither tower has access (yet) to the bridge connecting them.
Towers, early sunrise:
Towers, late sunrise:
Tower interior (bottom of stairs):
Tower interior (top of stairs, facing up, Quake Pro mode):
Behind towers, outside of town:
The Town (a glimpse of it)
Facing the town gate; pub/inn on left, railway station on right:
Side of my house:
Front of my house (on right) and my buddies house (left):
Other side of my house:
My House
Through the front door of my house:
Standing at the other end of the image above (aka the back of my house):
Attic of my house (hidden behind dragon painting in image above):
Crafting Room/Storage/Basement (through the trapdoors pictured two images above):
Portal/Brewing room (connected to room pictured above):
Sub-basement, located through door pictured two images above:
...and finally, my incomplete hidden corridor, accessed through the dragon painting pictured above:
Note about final image: Behind the painting are also two iron doors that can only be opened by switching two levers on, which also happen to be hidden behind other paintings in the room. The corridor may be useless, but making "vaults" is one of my favorite past-times :tongue.gif:
I've been working hard at developing my Minecraft skills (lol@my life), and so far, this town is the epitome of my work. Hope you guys like it!
My bad if this is the wrong place for this :tongue.gif:
It seems that when I place cobblestone stairs, the lighting is broken on the inner part of the stairway. After a continuing my project a bit, stairs decided to turn into black shadows on the ground. Just wondering if this is a bug associated with the release of 1.5...maybe someone else has experienced it.
Blue: Stair with shadow
Red: Shadow that should be stairs
Very nice house. Seems like it would be perfect for the theme you chose.
I hope you plan to put some kind of roof overhead because honestly, the top/bottom texture of wood blocks don't look that great. You should also throw some kind of roof over the deck, and create some sort of patio under the deck (brick looks real nice as a patio). These are just my opinions however, and I'm sure however you continue this project will turn out good.
Originally a castle project of mine on a friends Hamachi server, I took about an hour copying the initial "3-tower" design that I had before into single player (using WorldEdit). A couple of hours later and a few details later, I have this.
An overhead shot to show the whole building:
Entering the building into the lobby:
Inside of tower 1, looking up to the [current] ceiling:
View of the CEO's office from above and behind the building:
(WIP city in the background)
Personally I prefer the entrance to the original tower, but the new one will allow for a nice plaza.
Notes:
-The interiors of the 2 buildings are much different, as the front tower of the original is buried a bit deeper than the back towers.
-The tower will contain multiple floors, spiral staircases, a fountain, and possibly an elevator.
-Each tower has a diameter of 16 blocks.
-The texture pack is the v1.4 Ripclonian Pack by RipClaw.
-The Knoxius.com uploader is open to public use (in case anybody might be wondering :iapprove:).
Let me know your thoughts on my corporate tower =)

Thanks. It's got a lot of work to go before it starts looking really nice.
