Chill out, bro. It's a ****ing video game. And yes, I am saying it is okay to "be an asshole" because they didn't protect something. You call it theft- I call it wealth redistribution.
But alas, there's no point in filling this thread with our obvious conflict of opinion. Nothing I say is going to make you consider that maybe, just maybe, that little wooden hut you built in a digital block-based game isn't important. And nothing you say is going to make me reconsider my actions and start being a nancy who respects peoples' "belongings" (which is a term I use very lightly because we're talking about a few bits of code). Furthermore nothing you say is going to cause me any sort of mental anguish, and chances are I won't remember we even had this conversation by tomorrow.
I play Minecraft and grief for the same reason one plays Grand Theft Auto and runs down old ladies- because it's wanton destruction and I can get away with it. It's that sort of chaotic evil that exists in primal urges. "Oh look, a flammable house. Well I just so happen to have a flint and tinder." If I'm an asshole for destroying a few bits of code that you presume could actually "belong" to someone else, then everyone who plays shooter games is an asshole for potentially ruining someone else's gaming experience by repeatedly killing them. Everyone who has ever played Just Cause, GTA, Saints Row, Garry's Mod -or any other sandbox game that allows destruction- they're all assholes too. You play the game your way. I play it mine. I'm not less of a person because I play the game differently.
I now leave you with a Batman clip.
Regardless of whether it is a game or not, being a **** is not acceptable. Sure, it is just a game. Games are for fun, right? Well when you grief, you're ruining someone's fun whether it is code or not. You may be having fun, but the person you griefed won't be.
I come onto a server which I have been playing on for just as long as everyone else. I **** up peoples' things, steal, and then go back to my base with the loot of my conquest. And I feel better about myself because I have an impenetrable base underneath a lake of lava, compared to their wooden hut out in a clearing. Some people work hard in Minecraft to get their materials. I am one of them. Then I come along and take all of it because they were not smart enough to protect their things.
So you're saying it's okay to be an a*shole because they didn't protect something. Regardless of whether they protect it or not, that doesn't automatically make it ok to be like you are.I, for one, and considerate and don't grief like you people.
I don't remember personally insulting YOUR way of playing multiplayer; which I presume is to prance around and give flowers to all of your server "friends" before proceeding to go to the town storehouse and retrieve stacks of wheat- for free, of course- because you're all a bunch of communists who share resources instead of fighting over them like REAL men.
Because your way of playing multiplayer is screwed up. You griefers come into a server, F- up people's things, steal, and leave. Then you feel better about yourself even though you're being a rude a-shole. Some people work hard in Minecraft to get their materials, then you morons come along and take all of it because you're too lazy to get your own.
tl;dr: grifers are nothing more than inconsiderate and selfish pricks without any respect for people and their belongings.

All the US military has to do is park some all their battleships at the coast of each country/continent and fire on the lions, killing hundreds when each shell explodes. Not to mention that we can use over 15 of our special forces. Then clear out an area and get some fuel and return to the battleships and aircraft carriers.

Tell us something about yourself: I spend most of my spare time playing Minecraft. So far I've been playing for 6 months and I don't regret purchasing it. If I'm not playing Minecraft, I'm listening to music while foruming or playing Steam Games. I get along with people really well and tend to be generous towards others.
