    posted a message on Mirrors
I had the idea of mirrors today when i was thinking about decorating my minecraft house, the idea just came to me and i thouht hat it could be really useful in other ways such that in a maze there would be mirrors to confuse people.
I personnally dont know if this has been suggested before or not but my search came back with zero results found so im posting this.

To make he mirror i was thinking make it the same as a painting in the way that its 8 sticks in a chest formation and then put an iron ingot in the center to resemble the mirroring effect. And with it beng like a painting it could have three different sizes as in one block a two block high and hen a two by two block size. I thouht that the way in which you can pit the mirrors on walls would be the same as the paintings aswell so hat might be able to save on the progeamming.

I think it could be really good becase this way you can see your character but also you can make a complicated maze so much harder but also decorate along a hallway to resemble more like a hallway. It would make decorating much better and wouldnt be much hardr to make or use than that of a painting.

    Thanks for reading.

posted a message on Launcher crashes before mojang
    Quote from epikal

Those graphics card drivers look about the right age, last one on amd.com is 2006 also (Catalystâ„¢ 6.11)

Try the Linux / Other .jar.
It may work as is, otherwise try allocating it less RAM.

    To change the memory allocation:
    1) Open notepad and enter the below text:
    java -Xmx256m -jar minecraft.jar
    2) Save this file as mc.bat in the same folder as the minecraft.jar you just downloaded.
    3) Run Minecraft via mc.bat.

This should allocate 256MB (default is 1GB)
(Try OptiFine too for an FPS boost.)
To free up some RAM too, have a look at the runnig applications and decide if you can uninstall/disable some. The free version of Gamebooster may also help in this regard.

Also, I'd run Windows Update to get SP3 and clear that directx warning about old files.

Ok ive tried the notepad to change the memory allocations but i think i did it wrong, is there a different way in order to open minecraft via mc.bat or is it automatic, and if it is automatic then it didnt work. Using a different launcher didnt work as ive tried them all, either same problem or just isnt comaptible. Ive cleared up as much RAM as possible in order to give it more but hasnt done much.

I appreciate all the help youve given but its either i play in the browser or get a different computer by the looks of it, although if there is a way to get the mods to work in the browser id like to know how if you do know. Thanks anyways.

posted a message on Launcher crashes before mojang
I know there have been other posts similar or exactly like this one but every solution that i have seen does not seem to work and some of the topics that have had the same problem seem to not get a reply.

    READ POST FULLY BEFORE POSTING

I am new to minecraft and have played a few worlds to get the feel of it all and now i would like to play with some mods installed aswell but i don't know if you need the launcher to use them however the mod loader does use it and you need that installed to allow certain if not quite alot of mods to work.

Whenever i launch the stand-alone minecraft launcher it starts up fine, i used to not be able to log in with that but could in the browser. That has been fixed with deleting all the .minecraft folder in the application data folder. I updated it and can now login, however it shows a loading screen and then goes completely black, the launcher then decides to close itself down and place an hs_err_pid file where the launcher is located. Now i know this happens before the mojang screen is supposed to appear because the browser based version works fine.

    Some notes about it:

1)Java is updated as much as possible
    2)Updated all other drivers
3)THERE ARE NO MODS INSTALLED therefore dont reply with the problem being the mods plz.
4)I have changed my password already as some solutions state this would make it work.
5)Checked on different computer with windows vista-launcher works.
6)The hs_err_pid has numbers next to it and there are many other topics which have the same thing already on it so if you want the actual error report then it would be easeir to view another one.

Specs of my computer are a little unknown but seeing as the browser works then the problem with it working has to do with the launcher. I am currently running on windows XP proffessional and if suggestions are for the java being the wrong bit type (32 instead of 64) please can you state how i can find out which bit type i am running before saying to follow a solution which will more than likely make things worse. Video card is a radeon 9200se, and the computer is fairly old.(dont say get a better computer because that will obviously work but dont have the money for that)

And one other thing, i appreciate that other people will have the same problem but stating it onto the topic doesnt give much help other than saying the problem is a little bigger than it should be.

I would like it if i could get a reply for this problem, it would help, and thank you in advance if you do help.
