Made a diamond sword instead. Got it enchanted with Fire Aspect, Looting and Knockback(Wasn't thrilled about the knockback, but it is handy when there's a flaming zombie.)!
Knockback is useful when fighting Creepers, even when they cornered you.
I my best world, I had located a zombie spawner that I haven't turned into an xp farm yet and it's about 100 blocks away from my home mountain. There's a desert village in the dessert that takes me about 3 minutes to walk to from my property and all of those villagers are still alive. Since I have an idea where my Nether fortress is, I can make a potion of weakness if i want to. But I don't really know which one to pick. Do anyone know which one will be the best one to start a new village from?
If you go far enough away from your farm, your animals and crops stop growing. If you stay home where the chunk they're on is still loaded, they should finish growing in about 2 Minecraft days.

That's not really true. I found a desert well above a ravine before. Here's one that's in a copied seed of one of my worlds.
Here is is before as normal.
Now here is the same well after punching blocks all the way to bedrock, nothing but a few ores.

Stay there and do something around your property while keeping the chunk loaded. Just close enough so the chunk can still stay loaded and updated.

Why you want to teleport a Creeper into the Nether? You know that anything that explodes next to the Nether portal while it's on will turn it off.
