- Looking to add awesome fun and new abilities into your game world?

What are Inventory Pets?
Inventory Pets are living animated creatures that exist in your inventory and give you amazing special effects, drops, buffs, utilities, defenses, and weapons in exchange for care and feeding. Plus, some pets, such as the Purplicious Cow, are especially handsome. The latest release contains 52 awesome, unique pets with mind-bending skills and fancy tricks, and 5 special pets only available during holidays.

How do Pets Work?
Inventory Pets have unique and powerful abilities that become active when they are in your inventory hotbar. These effects expire if they are taken out of your hotbar or they have not been fed. Bad owner!
How do I get an Inventory Pet?
Inventory Pets can be acquired in two different ways:
- All pets, except for Legendary, are craftable using vanilla Minecraft materials. Material requirements are higher for rarer and more powerful pets.
- Pets can be found in four special places in the Overworld: Sea Caves, Cloud Dungeons, Treetops, and underground Dungeons.
Sheep fountains can often provide a safe haven for deserving….

Recipe Key
Here's an example recipe for the Creeper. Emerald Nuggets on the Outside, his favorite Food at the Top Center (Gunpowder), Diamond in the Center, and Gold Ingot at the bottom.
Most pets follow the above recipe structure. Materials for each pet (except Legendary) are listed above with the individual pets.
- O = Outside Layer
- F = Food
- D = Diamond (usually)
- G = Gold Ingot

Dungeons
Dungeon Facts
- Sky Dungeons are protected by Blazes, which only appear when you are near the Chest. This is the only place you have a chance to get a Cloud Pet.
- Sea Caves are protected by underwater breathing Cave Spiders. This is the only place you will have a chance to find the Pufferfish Pet. These are only found in the Beach biome.
- Underground Dungeons are protected by fast-moving Zombies. This is the only place to find the Black Hole.
- Treetops are the only unprotected Pet hiding spot, but may be harder to find. This is the only place where you have a chance of finding the Slime Pet. These are only found in regular Forests, Birch Forests, and Jungles.
How Do I Care for My Pets?
Each pet has unique foods they like to eat. Keep a small stack of this food anywhere in your inventory and they will find it and eat it. Nom! Some pets eat after a certain number of uses, other pets eat 1-2 times per Minecraft day. For more information on individual feeding habits, see the Pet-O-Pedia above.
Other Pet Care Facts:
- Most pet effects continue to work in Creative Mode.
- Pets only get hungry when they are active in your hotbar. They do not get hungry if they are in your regular inventory or in a chest, or if you are in Creative Mode.
- Want to name your Pet? Just press the 'n' key while holding a Pet!
- Pet hunger is represented by a durability bar. When durability is zero, their effects will no longer work. Simply place their favorite food in your inventory to get them fully restored and active again.
- For pets that give you items, you must keep them active in your hotbar in Survival Mode to receive the items. These pets drop items an average of 2 times per Minecraft day. This applies to the Cow pets which fill empty buckets as well.
- Pets can bite. But you can’t feel it. Ok, they don't really bite.
- Most pets are potty trained.
Can I use multiple Pets at once?
Yes! That’s part of the fun of the game. You can mix and match and combine fill up your hotbar with up to 9 Inventory Pets.
Can I use this in my modpack? Will it run on servers? Will it be compatible with other mods? Can I post it on spam sites?
Yes, yes, yes, no.
- Ok, more seriously. Yes, you can use it in your modpack. Just list us in your credits and link back here (the main forum page)
- Yes, it runs on servers. We worked very hard to make sure it did. Even that crazy Black Hole and Moon pet work.
- Yes, it is supposed to be compatible with other mods. If you run into a conflict, please let us know (see the Bugs section!)
- No, please don't repost this and please don't download from those evil spam sites. They make us sad.
I'm having issues with Lag, what can I do?
Most of the issues have to do with the way 1.7.10 loads chunks. There are two ways to fix these issues:
- Try out FastCraft, found here: http://forum.industrial-craft.net/index.php?page=Thread&threadID=10820. It's compatible with Inventory Pets and works on both Client and Server.
- You can turn off Dungeon creation in the config file, and just acquire Pets through crafting. You can also turn on the recipes for the Legendary pets in the config file as well.
Is this mod fun?
ZOMG! It’s the funnest mod since that other really fun one you used to play!
I Found a Bug!
Yes, you will find some bugs. It happens. But you can help us fix it:
- Please feel free to send us a PM or post right here in the forum.
- Or, log the issue on our GitHub: https://github.com/capnkirok/Inventory-Pets/issues

PVP
Though not intended as a PVP mod, Inventory Pets is really, really fun in PVP. Ridiculously fun.
Examples of PVP games:
- Choose 8 pets each and one weapon (no food)
- Ghast/Cloud/Weapon vs. Ghast/Cloud/Weapon (flying battle)
- You can also turn off 'Pets Must Eat' in the config file so you don't have to always refuel
Note: The AOE Pets and the Black Hole now work with Scoreboard Teams (for both buffs and negative effects). To turn on Moon, Black Hole, and Dubstep to affect other players, just update the setting in the config.
If anyone makes a great PVP map and/or video for Inventory Pets, we'd gladly post it here.
Modpacks
Please feel free to use this mod in any modpack, both public and private. There is no need to notify or ask us, please just mention Purplicious_Cow and Inventory Pets in the pack if you do make it public, and link back to this forum post.

- One Life to Live - Jadedcat

I think it depends on how you want it done. I'm not aware of a mod that simply lets you keep all your stuff, mostly because the keep inventory gamerule is a thing. If you're mostly concerned about your stuff not despawning, there's at least one gravestone mod, though I forget the name of it. Might even just be called gravestones, heh. If you want your equipment/tools, I think ender IO has a soulbound enchantment, and Tinker's Construct has a modifier that does similar.
1
Do you get that when going into your inventory, too? Seemed like my frames died when I was moving some things around.
1
This looks really cool, and really complicated, heh. I'ma download and try to get onto the server(s) and see how it actually works.
1
Is there a recipe for turning gravel into flint in the pack? If not, try to find a village with a tinker's hut.
1
There is one that might do what you want. Magnanimous Tools. Build them and they slowly get better as you use them.
1
Ah, you want to turn them into the experience. Aye, I think collecting it from a grinder and a spawner is the best bet. Amusingly, I actually like to put a weapon in an autonomous activator and funnel mobs from a spawner to it and get the xp from that, heh.
1
Sweet Have some more input, heh. Most of the mod seems to work pretty well together, though I haven't been able to dive too deep into it just yet, but there are two that stick out: Millionaire and the Mo' Creatures mods. The Millionaire cities seem to be spawning everywhere. I haven't been able to wander for far at all without stumbling across them in every semi-flat space I stumble over. Additionally, the extra creatures are everywhere, cluttering the surface. Even more annoying, they seem to randomly grow aggressive.
I think those two really stick out because so many of the other mods make wandering around so interesting. Lucky Block, Ruins, etc, there's a lot of cool things to discover by just going out and exploring. I'm going to try poking around the settings to see if they're things I can fix on my end. Either way, nice mod pack
Edit
I turned the frequency of everything down to one, so I'm only up to my knees in critters, instead of well over my head I think I know why some of the critters are becoming aggressive: Evilcraft. It looks like it defaults to creating several vengeance spirits when a world generates, and I think they possess random mobs and go after the player.
