    posted a message on Minecraft NAT support
    Does anyone know if, since 10/31 update, has Minecraft changed the way it handles NAT? Even after today's update I'm still unable to connect my server. I'm running the minecraft client on the same machine that's hosting the server.

    Prior to today I was receiving the "Took too long to connect, failed to login" error. After today's update I now receive:

    "Connection lost
    Internal client error: java.net.ConnectExcpetion: Connection timed out: connect"

    All of the information I've found on this issue so far pertains to Macs and talks about troubleshooting aspects of my server that have never changed. Anyone outside of my server's local network can connect without a problem. I can connect fine if I set online-mode=false, but this was only necessary AFTER the 10/31 update.

    Does anyone with experience with the Minecraft networking codebase have any idea what could have changed?

    posted a message on MAC: Took to long to log in
    Reporting the same "Took to long to log in" error as well. Everything was fine until the halloween update. A few friends were having the problem but were able to log into my server after multiple attempts.

    I have tried dozens of times with no luck. The machine i'm using to log in is also the server. People outside of my network have no problem but I haven't got a 2nd machine to test on my same network. There shouldn't be a network problem since others can connect to the server but I'll bypass my firewall and switch to see if that works.

    :: UPDATE ::

    - if you set offline-mode=false in server.properties, I'm able to log in. This wasn't necessary before the halloween update though.

    posted a message on List of bugs/known issues with SMP
    Sorry if this has been posted to death but I didn't see it.

    Is there a running list of known bugs/issues with SMP so I can review them and know what to expect? I'd also like to know if there's a centralized post or area to add my own findings so I'm not dumping these things into a random place.
