Why not have a single block that once selected brings forth a menu to select Texture then a volor wheel to change the color of it to any you please. If you have played The Sims 3 think of it to be the same way the decoration tool works in that.
It would be placed on the edge on the block (Which ever edge you are currently looking at) you are looking at.
It would also not count as a full block so as to make "walls". Not sure if its possible but I would like to see it.
Or better yet allow them to be placed at a diagonal across a block as if to make a slide, that would open up a small world for "traps" and the what not.
