if you go zombie spectator mode, are villagers scared of you?

They're scared of the zombie whose eyes you are currently sharing.

    when you go down:

    hint 1.
take a close look at the giant cube
    hint 2.
the middle blocks of the cube
    hint 3.
    the middle blocks are wool
    hint 4.
    break the wool using shears
    hint 5.
get shears using the dropper in the room at the beginning of the map

I was wondering what that dispenser was for...

    the amount of hoppers:

there are 6 colored hoppers and one hopper to obtain
    a shrinking potion

Yeah, I got all of those already.

    the parkour:

The parkour is just there to make you rage, actual parkour shouldn't be in a puzzle map, you can't actually make the last jump, the only way to finish the parkour is by flipping the room.

    You certainly succeeded at that.

How am I supposed to get at the green and yellow wool blocks on the cube? I can't find any paths that take me to them.

see those buttons with stained clay? you need 6 of them...

I figured that part out, but what I had thought was the barrier for the purple hopper is still confounding me.
I got all of the barriers in the room with the number 8 to go green and a hole appeared in the floor. When I went in I found a giant cube room with a few walkways and passageways, but so far I can't get anything out of it. Any hints? Also, please tell me if there are actually more than 6 hoppers.

EDIT: do those pillars that look like something from a parkour map (shown upside-down in picture 7 in the OP) have a practical use?

EDIT: What TZ are the forums using?

WOOHOO!!! I JUST FINISHED THE MAP!!!!And here comes the map review.
The code 3, like it's predecessor maps, requires the player to use their skill of inferring and analyzing, but the code 3 is rather special. During the gameplay, the map demanded me to use all my mind skills, including spacial analyzation and observation of environment. The map does not give the player a direct answer, and rather asks the player to continue on the map without any dialogue of any kind. It is completely up to the player to decide which puzzle to solve first, but later on, the player realizes that it is all just one large puzzle. The code 3 has extremely mind-blowing and astounding gameplay, however, if the player did not play the previous code maps, then this map will be nearly impossible for them to solve. The puzzles were absolutely mindblowing, requiring the player to use every single mind skill he/she has. The quality of the map was stupendous, with no glitches/bugs or building mistakes encountered. A small problem about this map, however, is that it requirs a lot of backtracking, making the player confused of their location in the map, but perhaps that's another one of the Code's charms.

    Gameplay: 10
Flawlessness(No glitches, no bugs, etc): 10
Difficulty: 10 :P (Do not play this map if you haven't played the previous 2 codes, unless you are very, VERY smart.)
Problems: Too much backtracking, lack of tutorial
    Rated: 9.99999999/10

Overall, the Code 3 was probably THE best minecraft puzzle experience for me, every second of it was a surprise. I loved how it required me to use every single part of my dusty old brain, and the puzzles were very intriguing and addicting, while also not giving up quite easily. If you want to play this map, I recommend play the first two code maps first. But believe me, this map is definitely worth playing two of it's prequels first. The Code 3 is one of those rare maps in which the quality of every aspect makes it deserve to have a game of it's own. I cannot state enough how magical this map was.

    ALSO...The End?

Any advice on how to beat the puzzle leading to the purple hopper? It's making my brain explode.

When I go into the sapling planting room after the time machine(The one where there's grass), I can't open the dispenser. Is it supposed to be like that?

yeah, I think it's supposed to be like that:
You're supposed to plant a tree on the right block before you go through the vortex so it will grow up and get you to the hopper.

Strange...The last one is the purple one, and I entered that one. If you managed to enter the code for orange and yellow, then you should have the digits necessary for the last purple one. If you're asking for the location, here's a hint: redstone lamps and clay.

Yeah, I was trying to find the purple hopper. I've made some progress thanks to your hint, but the puzzle following it has me completely stumped.

you need to find more hoppers like that one, just kill yourself to get back where you came from

I've found and entered the codes for yellow, orange, green, blue, and red hoppers, but I'm stuck now. Any clues for the sixth (what I think is the last) one?

First you'll have to find another place... I don't want to spoil anyting but if you haven't seen grass instead of dirt there where you have to put the saplings, you don't need it yet. When you did see the dirt turned into grass, you will know what to do.

I got through that part, but there's another problem:
I went through the tornado and got to another hopper - this one collapsed and I found another one below some water. I entered in the code 49873 and got a scoreboard on the side with a pair of brackets for a name and one entry also named by brackets, with a score of 1. Any hints from here? I can't see any way to progress.

I disagree. Why? because of the difference between caving and, to make an example, branch mining. For me, there is nothing more to branch mining than: break one block, break another block, move forward, rinse and repeat ad nauseam. Caving, on the other hand, is less predictable. I never really know what will be around the corner and that give a sense of adventure. When I do make tunnels, it is for the express purpose of finding new caves.

EDIT: sorry about the necropost, I didn't see the date. However, this may still be a relevant conversation.

I have to say I still disapprove of the clay biome. It's unrealistic AND it'll destroy the clay economy...

How? I can already get a ton of clay from a swamp.

posted a message on Using Books To Create Talking Villager Dialogue

Does that map use talking npcs? How do they accomplish it?

There are plenty of ways of delivering messages using command blocks, but it all seems a little bit roundabout. It's a bit like saying a redstone torch that when placed somewhere moves blocks out of the way of sign is the same as a book.

The map uses command blocks to create a dialog. You don't have any choice in what "you" say, but it is still pretty cool. I would like to be able to accomplish something similar without being a redstone wizard like Hypixel is, though.

Sounds like a neat idea, but I don't really see any uses with it that can't already be accomplished. For example: http://hypixel.net/threads/herobrines-return-minecraft-adventure-map-1-5.1033/
