posted a message on Literally the most depressing Planetminecraft skin contest ever
I liked quite a few of the skins here. The "trapped" and "butterflies in the stomach" ones were both nice. I also liked "bouncing off the walls."

There are a lot of "sad" or "depressed" skins, but I wouldn't call the contest as a whole depressing. It is, due to all of them, technically the most depressing contest they've ever held.

posted a message on Change to Banners- Allow any item to be used as a pattern
    Quote from LinonWater
I think this is very unlikely because they've created several texture files for the banner patterns. So if new patterns were created then they would be wasting time recreating like 150 to 200 new texture files just to put on a banner.

    Sorry, no support!

They could just overlay the texture of the item overtop of the banner, instead of creating a new texture for each different banner + item combo.

posted a message on Change to Banners- Allow any item to be used as a pattern
With the new banners, you can add patterns to them using mob heads. I would like to suggest that any item be allowed to be used as the pattern. If you used, say, an iron pickaxe on your banner, the banner would have an iron pickaxe printed on it. The same could apply for any other item.

I'm not sure if it would work with blocks, but they could just have, say, the front face texture of the block show up on the banner. Maybe you could control which face of the block would show up by arranging it differently in the crafting table, like you do with dyes on the banner.

The iguana tweaks mod adds movement slowdown based on the armour rating, so the highest portection comes at the cost of slowest movement.

I do not care about mods for this case. It also doesn't have bow things, does it?

    Use the quote feature, also.

posted a message on Ability to Add Mobs to, and a Allied/Neutral/Hostile System, for Teams.
    Quote from MrWubzy
I like this idea as it adds a whole new (and simpler) way to deal with using mobs in map making. I can't see many flaws in this since the main idea for this suggestion is to add it in for map makers, and it's simple enough (almost too simple). One question I do have to ask, though: how would we add the entities to a certain team? Is it a tag we have to edit, or an item we have to craft? I also have to add that this seems to fit better as a plugin rather than an addition to the game, but at the same time it fits as a map making tool.

You could just add a mob to a team by adding it's UUID to a team like you would a player.

    Quote from Coga19000
Sems like a good idea. However, how would the mobs be added to a team? And also, how would it be able to switch team status?

    A command, probably /scoreboard team <teamname> <allied/neutral/hostile> <secondteamname>

posted a message on Using Bees for Beeswax: Fuel your Furnace! Waterproof your Clothing! Make a Candle! Seal a Book! UPDATED WITH CONCEPT ART! UPDAT
I was thinking that this was going to be Just Another Bee Suggestion™, but I was pleasantly surprised. Great suggestion. I think maybe it should be slightly less efficient a fuel than coal, maybe 4-6? Also, just how high can you stack a candle? What if you stack it so high it reaches over the top of the block border? Does it become a 2-block block, like doors and beds, or what?

posted a message on Cows, Pigs, and the Problems with Leather Armor
I think that armor should be divided into two groups, Heavy and Light.

Light armors would be Leather, and Chainmail. Light armors have no negative effects, like slowing you down, or decreasing your agility with drawing a bow.

Heavy armors would be Iron, Gold, and Diamond. Iron and Gold would slightly decrease your movement speed, by 0.1 speed. They would also make drawing a bow take an extra 1/4 of a second, from 3 to 3.25. Diamond would slow you more, by 0.25 speed. Diamond would also increase draw time to 3.5 seconds. These are both assuming you have a full set of armor. If you had only one piece of iron armor, your movement speed would drop by 0.025, and your draw speed would increase by 0.0625.

These changes would give Leather and Chain more reasons to be used, and would balance out the armors better.

posted a message on heavier lapis lazuli enchantment requirments
I think maybe doubling the amount would be fair. Lapis seems more common than diamonds for me, anyway. I'll be lucky if I manage to find more than a diamond or two in a spelunking trip, but I'll end up going home with 2 stacks of magical blue dye in my pockets.

posted a message on A New Tree. The Apple Tree.
Maybe they're one of the few remains of an ancient civilization that modified oak trees to grow apples, and then all the normal oak trees and apples died off.

A better fruit to get its own tree would be the COCOA PLANT. Currently, cocoa is a parasitoid plant that preys on jungle trees. That's nothing like real cocoa at all.

there's a mod for everything these days. because you guys dont support ideas which are already turned into a mod, the best idea mojang can get is name changes -.-... just support the things who are already converted into mod as long as they look good.
btw i support your idea but i think that for every 9 oak trees there should be an apple tree and that every apple tree should drop 1-2 apples since trees are extremely easy to farm. maybe for the lolz apple trees should also have a decreased grow time, making them good for wood supply.

you are darn right! being a mod is not an excuse to be a vanilla feature! for example, take the npc villages. they are originally from the mod 'millenaire' but because some people dont like the complexity of those mods mojang made the npc villages basic with a decent trading system. if mojang wouldnt put some mod features in vanilla minecraft there wont be ideas left and everyone is FORCED to install mods!

NPCs are not from millenaire. Are you serious? The NPCs are nothing like them. People had been asking for NPCs long before millenaire was released. If mojang had based our NPCs of the modded ones, they'd be about 50x better. In case my post didn't give it away, I have no support for the addition of apple trees.

posted a message on Ability to Add Mobs to, and a Allied/Neutral/Hostile System, for Teams.
My idea is the ability to add mobs to teams, like you can with players.

When mobs are on teams, they become passive or neutral to players of the same team. They are still hostile to other teams, however. Mobs on opposite teams will attack each-other. Players on the same team as a mob could right-click on the mob to make said mob join their "party" and follow them like a wolf.

Allowing map makers to put mobs on teams would be a fantastic feature, and would allow for things such as friendly NPC soldiers, or on multiplayer custom maps, for two teams to have armies.

I would also like to suggest a way to make teams...
    • "Allied", in which the two teams will be unable to hurt each other, and their mobs will be passive to each other. It would be useful in case someone needed two separate teams, but not have them hurt each other.
    • "Neutral", in which the two mobs of the two teams do not attack each other unless provoked, but the players still can.
    • "Hostile", in which the mobs of the two teams are automatically hostile to each other, and the players are obviously able to hurt the opposite team.

posted a message on Leather Drops from Bats
The problem with this is that bats spawn infinitely, and would be relatively easy to make a farm for. Now, if we made bats work like the rest of the animals, this could work.

Bats are also meant to be "ambient mobs" that exist solely to make the world seem more alive. Personally, I think song-birds and very small insects would have worked better.

Bats could drop "bat wings", which could be used in potion making, maybe for potions of leaping (jump effect).
