Perhaps some kind of schedule could be made so that we can know ahead of time when the server will be online and offline? This way people can have a good idea as to when it'll be available for them to go in and play around with other users.

I'm having a problem similar to what other users have been saying: I log in with the IP address you gave, and it seems to work, but while everything is loading the server times out before I even get a chance to see everything. This problem very well could be on my end, since I live on a college campus with a substandard IT department in a city that has poor internet service to begin with, but I'm wondering if there could be anything else causing it if others are having the same issue.

I'm sad to hear that the server is down right now, but is there any chance I could still get in on the action?

It'd be cool if, with exception from the red lanterns, of course, that like how tools are now lanterns would last longer depending on what materials they were made out of. For instance, maybe you could make a stone lantern that would last longer than a torch, but then an iron lantern would last even longer, and so on and so forth.

I understand both sides of this argument. On one hand, creepers have quickly become iconic characters in the game, but at the same time they're an extreme nuisance. While in singleplayer you can simply change the difficulty mode to peaceful in order to avoid the irritation, creepers in multiplayer could quickly become a catastropic troll fest of people leading creepers to other people's bases and blowing them up.

Personally, while I don't think that Creepers should be removed completely from the game, or that their mechanics should necessarily be changed, I do think that maybe how often they spawn and where they show up could be tweaked. Zombies, Spiders, and Skeletons are typical monsters that we see in many games, so it makes sense that they would show up frequently. But consider this: What if creepers were beasts that existed solely down in the cave systems? It would be a nasty surprise, but certainly one that would instill fear into the player and stress the importance of procuring some type of armor before venturing into the depths.

Imagine a player new to the game, digging down deep into his personal world in search of resources. He opens up a pocket into a deep cave. It's dark, but he notices the glint of something shiny in the rock. Could it be gold, iron? Perhaps even diamonds, with any luck? In his excitement he sets up ladders to take himself down to the floor. He dug pretty deep, and was only able to make so many torches because of how little coal he had. He's maybe down to two or three now, but he goes about lighting his way a little bit anyhow.

He sets up the first torch. Diamonds glinting in the rock in front of him. Then, out of nowhere, he hears that awful hissing sound. Turning around, two of the hideous greenish creepers are staring at him, eyes black and their mouths agape. With a final shriek, They suddenly combust, taking out the rocks and the player with them.

Perhaps a melodramatic account of what could happen, but again I think that this would be an element that would immediately show the player, "Oh crap, I didn't know this was coming: Next time I'll have to prepare myself before going down." I think it would add a greater sense of treachery when searching for resources, which could make the game a bit more exciting than it already is.
