I just updated and must have gone through a couple dozen seeds looking for a taiga village. Well, needless to say I havent found one but as I thought of it, I havent seen a single structure above water level.
No villages, no witch huts, not even a well
I even tried seeds I know had some kind of structure, even multiple structures and they all disappeared as well. Now the Stronghold is there as well as ocean monuments, so generate structures is on
Could someone please create a new world that is known to have villages or whathaveyou to see if this is just me this is happening to?
Please post seed # so I can check as well. Honestly I cannot fathom the poor luck of no structures, especially when inputting seeds I have played and find everything gone.
For what its worth, I actually found one to my liking.
Seed: taulmaril
While there isnt any structures, sans 2 wells in water on the west edge, its primarily land with some rivers, swamp and a good sized 'lake'. No desert (unless the ridiculously small thing on the south that has a cactus is actually desert), tiny savannah and nice mountains/forests/smaller plains makes it nice for my needs
Oh, add that I found some 30+ diamonds without breaking a sweat between the hole in the stronghold and in a cave that went to y-12....
You cannot make them in a superflat, as it states only plains, savannah and desert biomes can have them. I do hope I am wrong and you are correct as I will force myself to listen to their annoying voices to try
I am going out on a limb and say that with the last couple updates, terrain was changed dramatically in terms of structures.
The seed "yolo" had a butcher for the lone house in the seed (also has a monument if interested) but now has a blacksmith (which I am not complaining about)
Another seed, "96909624" had a large house as the only structure but now that was eliminated and has nothing
Another possibility is did you accidentally uncheck "generate structures"?
I am looking for a seed that is pretty specific, but broad enough if someone comes across one.
For water, I am looking for as little "outside" water as possible, meaning no oceans. Rivers are fine and preferred, lakes can be as well, depending on size. Swampland is usually ok as well if shallow
I am hoping to avoid the following major biomes: Jungle, Desert, Savannah, Ocean (as mentioned), and mushroom isles. If present, hopefully as small as possible
Prefer large amounts of Spruce forests (and Mega Taiga), Oak and Birch. Roofed forests are ok. Plains are ok, but hopefully not too large. Snowy biomes are ok, snow spruce is preferred, flats if not too large
No need for villages or structures, though a tiny village (1-2 houses/villagers) and igloos are fine.

Witch hut should be in NE part of map, Ocean Monument in SE. Sadly, the 1 house village (was a Blacksmith too) disappeared after the last update
This is on the 360, but shouldnt be different. Perhaps if you are lucky, that house is on the SW part of map, pretty much directly west of spawn

From my experience, online allows you to do the updates and play multiplayer from different consoles (not the splitscreen crud)
I dont do the online gaming, so updates and DLC are where I am at.
Note that you have to either have the disc or downloaded the game to that harddrive, otherwise others cannot play on their profiles
I believe you can download updates to a thumbdrive (flashdrive), though not entirely sure how

Likely depends on how many users are online using the server as well as the content of the world itself
In either case, its probably a ridiculous amount, which would be mega $$$

Are there taiga villages now? I only assumed that the savannah villages changed (which is accurate) and was hoping for forest villages

Perhaps I wasnt clear: Inputting the seed number from a mashup seed will NOT bring up the mashup seed terrain

I meant I have a 360, which seeds there should be a classic map on One, unless I am mistaken. I havent ordered my One yet to reference.

Some do look for classic sized maps or post such.
