posted a message on Looking for good survival island seed

    Beautiful seed!

Has all wood types, jungle is small (which I prefer) and easy to clear the floor and can make a nice village up top in the trees. Dark oak is small, couple spruce forests (which I prefer for buildings. Couple Ocean Monuments (those are usually my "boss" dungeons as I likely wont go to the end), haven't checked the tundra for an igloo but overall, excellent. The spacing between the isles is more than acceptable, Thank you

    Title.

Looking for a good size isle, couple hundred blocks around, that has regular forest. NO MANSIONS! I cannot stand those abominations, way too big for the 360 imo. No villages. Other isles can be of any wood type, though prefer at least 1 spruce tree. Jungle is fine, temple is fine. Prefer no desert.

Alternately, having a few good size isles spread over the map is fine, with above preferences.

Really not much to go on. Why not simply use a random seed?

Perhaps instead of the hissy fit, you could actually elaborate on what issue you are having with the redstone and others can suggest a fix.

posted a message on Custom Skins For Console Players?

I have to disagree with MS profits being the hold back. Bethesda, for example, has Skyrim and Fallout that allow mods of basically every sort. Some dramatically improve visuals, others add an entirely new world.

Both are available for console DL

They seem to be in the "decorations" section instead of next to the other fencing. Why they moved it is beyond me...

posted a message on PC texture pack for consoles

PPC texpacks are most likely user created. Not sure which you had seen but what you are more or less asking for is a user created DLC.

BBefore someone wants to be cute and toss the "illegal" term around ignorantly, these types of creations are legal since you are not modifying the console.

posted a message on Why is everyone asking for mods/add-ons for console Minecraft?

Game mods are NOT illegal. Modifying the console itself is the offense.

Allowing user created DLC like Skyrim (as mentioned partly in the above post) pretty much shows that. There is absolutely nothing that would prevent Mojang/4J/etc from creating such a system for consoles (probably only for the newer gen, not 360 sadly).

So when people ask for mods, I would wager the VAST majority are asking for game modifications in the for of DLC, not hacking their consoles for whatever reason. Big difference.

On that note, the suggestion section should be removed, since we arent supposed to suggest PC features, yet thats what the updates consist of.

posted a message on Can someone please explain this new biome selector?

I am extremely confused now. I tried an old seed to see if it changed, yolo. I had done it on the 'large' biomes and it came out totally different than the 'original'. Ok I though as sometimes updates redo seeds as they have in the past.

I then tried the same seed, but used 'small' on the slider. The topography was the same as the 'original', except that the Ocean Monument and Witch Hut were missing, maybe a few minor changes as well.

Curious, I tried 'medium' and was nothing like the small or large biomes.

So now does every seed have 3 versions? This really throws a wrench in the gears when trying to look up biomes on chunkbase as I have no idea what to put for the version since there are different worlds for the same seed.

posted a message on Giant mushroom Isle/ FOUR Ocean Monuments

a "safe" area (meaning only a drop of a few blocks when hitting stronghold) to dig down to stronghold is on the spawn isle, approx coords 4,109

Stronghold seems to be fairly intact, full library and end portal are next to each other, few chests in there as well.

    Seed: 1231787779

I believe I typed in TITLEUPDATE24, selected large biome and unchecked balanced seed

As I see the seeds have changed, I started inputting some older seeds I used to play. One of which yielded the largest mushroom isle I have seed and 4 ocean monuments.

Most of the seed is water, has a few smallish sized islands making for a good survival seed. No structures present, sans the 4 ocean monuments, coords below:

    Temple 1: -408, 72

    Temple 2: -377, 327

    Temple 3: -169, 359

    Temple 4: 135, 410

I have not searched for the stronghold or any spawners

posted a message on Do you think xbox 360 can handle a bigger map?
    Quote from LloydAZยป

The map size in the Xbox 360 is a result of the limitation of the physical file size. Microsoft and Sony have capped the save file size to one gigabyte.

Comparing the map size for GTA V to Minecraft is comparing apples to oranges. The map in GTA is fixed, and can never be changed. Sure it scrawls out in every direction, but you can't enter every building, if you hit a lamp post and come back to that intersection later, the lamp post has returned. There is nothing saved as far as the map is concerned in the game other than your players position in that map.

Minecraft on the other hand has to keep track of every block within a chunk. So a chunk being 16x16x256 = 65,536 blocks per chunk (yes, air counts as a block too) Multiply that by the total number of total chunks that can appear in the world... Not to mention that it also has to keep track of every single item and entity within the game as well.

Is the hardware physically capable of handling a larger map? Yes, it's just the limitations of the file save sizes that prevents 4J from adding larger worlds to the older consoles.

I havent seen anything about a 1GB save file for the 360, could you cite the source?

There is the limit for cloud storage, but that shouldnt affect a local drive
