I'm a beginning modder and have a decent knowledge of Java and I want to add something to a WIP mod that I'm making that allows you to do some cool stuff with cauldrons (don't want to state what for idea stealing purposes), but I can't figure out how to get the cauldron to recognize when something is dropped inside of it ala Thaumcraft's crucible.
None, you don't have the experience to do a custom loop, and most prefilled ones suck. The one's that don't suck are really expensive.
Just as a question how would I gain the experience to do a custom loop? And what prefilled one would you suggest? I may be able to put in a bit more work hours to get it.
Depends on the bin, 8320 will be binned lesser than an 8350, and so on.
You'll also have to spend another $50 extra in the future to buy another card for SLI. Anyway, you could get around 4GHz with air cooling. With liquid, I've heard it being pushed to 4.7GHz or so.
What liquid cooling unit would you guys suggest if any?
Keeping the 770 is fine, but it's just kind of a waste spending more on a feature that'll be inevitably meaningless. A couple of 2GB 770s will outperform a single 770 4GB by a large margin, plus you'd only need a single 2GB 770 to start since you're not going for multi-monitor just yet.
I'm only spending around 50$ more. Nothing to extreme.
The AMD setup does look slightly better. Cheaper and the shiny 8 cores. Plus if I overclock I could probably get it to 4.0GHz (I may be wrong here)
As of right now, they're not cheaper. It depends how soon the 280X comes back full-force. They're already restocking much sooner than projected so there's a good chance it will be soon. Anyway, a multi-GPU setup would be more ideal for a multi-monitor setup. The 770 you got may have more VRAM, but it's still a 770. VRAM isn't the only playing factor in multi-monitor setups.
A single GPU is going to struggle on 3 1080p monitors on high settings, no matter how much VRAM. Instead of paying more for extra VRAM that won't help that much, it would be better just to get a couple of smaller-sized GPUs.
I might actually just stick with keeping the 770 (Or switch to the 280X), and SLI (Crossfire) that in the next couple months.
Those motherboards are still very overkill. Also, don't bother with liquid cooling.
I do intend on doing tri-monitor, and that's actually why I bought the 4GB card. I have two HDDs is so I can have one for gaming and one for OS and programs, its probably me being stupid but I assumed this is better then partitoning a 2TB HDD.

I'll give it a shot, thanks

Also, if anyone knows how I would also love help on making something like thaumcraft's crucible
Thanks for your time,

What would you suggest going for?
I posted a slightly different build with a cheaper setup for both near the end of the last page

It's too late, already ordered the 770, I could probably ship it back if the 280X is really that much better.
What would you suggest?

Willl do; And you suggest getting the Intel build, correct?
