I love this mod, but I shed quite a few tears when I saw that it is 1.5.2 only . I updated to 1.6 and now I can't play with this *cries ludly in my closet*
Atleast Thaumcraft 2 is in the technic pack
watch the thaumcraft 4 previews and cry tears of joy instead.
its like thaumcraft 3 has taken a level in badass. -

He's immune to arrows. I tried arrows before, you can only hurt him with them if you are flying and hit a certain part of the middle. Also, the Ur-ghast spends too much time crying, or it looks like crying because they are ghast tears!
LOL no he's not. My last 2 hydra kills I only used my bow and arrows. You just have to know when and where to shoot. (Hint: wait for him to "say ahhh") -

Hey I have a way to defeat the hydra. You have to wear really enchanted diamond armour, golden apples, and a diamond sword. You have to hit the two bottom heads repeatedly, which will bring him down on health. Keep on doing this, and when your health an hunger is low, run away and eat something, wait, then go back in and repeat the strategy. The heads will explode then duplicate, so he will be more powerful, but once he gets really low, he goes back to 3 heads. Then just do the attack strategy until he explodes and dies. This is really fun, I did it myself just earlier, and recorded it (I didn't send it to youtube).
I've found a fire resist potion and a good bow gets the job done easily. -

There really is no need for that. We have meteors and boss guardians already, along with pretty flowers. What more could you want?!
A release date
Lol J/k, *waiting patiently*.. Besides, I still haven't decided whether I need to send the bill for my new F5 key to Azanor, Mith, or KingLemming. -

C'mon Azanor, you know you want to make giant firebats that sound like Arnold Schwarzenegger. -

Azanor posted a message on Thaumcraft 3.0.5i (Outdated)I thought I'd chime in on the wand discussion. This is my RP view of things:Posted in: Minecraft Mods
In Thaumcraft wands should not be seen as magical object in themselves. Thing of them as magic batteries. To store magic you need a natural, or mystical material that is "grounded" by opposing pieces of metal. Wands are just a convenient and simple shape for this to hold - it is easy to hold (and point). The narrow shape neatly contains the energy between the grounding caps.
Could it look like a razor-edged magi-tech deathray? Sure, but as impressive as that is, a simple wand is more practical and will work better - all the fantasy-tech gimmickry will just interfere with the flow of vis.
Staves? Essentially just big wands and the amount of vis a wand can hold is based on the materials it is made from - not it's size. Staves look more impressive, but they don't hold more vis than a much more practically sized wand. Staves are more popular amongst martially minded thaumaturges, since it can double as a weapon in a pinch, but that is the exception, not the norm.
</rp>
In short - wands have been in TC from the start. They are a big part of TC and will remain as is. I might add staves some day, but honestly I don't see the point. Staves will also require there to be a better way to change the players animations without employing crazy Java gymnastics. To do them properly that is
As for the discussion that the basic wood+iron wand is not magical enough. Pfft, wood is plenty magical. Do you see anything else growing as neat square blocks? (not counting almost anything else in MC :P) -

I think the "spell in hand" animation is still a work in progress. I remember Direwolf saying something (in one of his videos) along the lines of... "Mithion is still working on the particle system, but some things are not rendering properly right now."
Again, not a direct quote and I could have misheard. Just me vaguely recalling hearing something about this particle system.

Yes.

The display cases don't change any textures. I've put a lot (big understatement) of things into displays cases just for the lolz and I have yet to crash or have and error of any kind. You can display vanilla and modded items alike. So feel free to display your lovely gem collection.
Note: I gotta say, when I first heard of those display cases from this mod, I automatically assumed they looks like those glass cases you see in museums and such. Ya know, a cushion-type thing in the middle for the object to rest on and the rest of the case is surrounded by glass. And the first thing I wanted to display was the dragon egg lol. Soon found that my vision of the display was very different from this mod. Nonetheless, I have no complaints.

Just tried Chroma Hills again with only Forge installed and no glitchiness. Added Optifine and everything is still stable. If it is a RAM issue, it's the first time it has ever occurred for me. I'm kinda hoping there's a solution to it cause I've grown quite attached to Chroma Hills and I'd hate to not be able to use it because of this. =/

Duuuude... use these next time when posting your crash logs.
It'll look like this when you do it right.

There's a bus for people like you (and me). It just headed out from the Biomes O' Plenty thread after picking up a few people there who also repeated themselves in the hopes of helping someone because they didn't at least read back a few pages. Need a ticket? Bus arrives now.

You can open the config files of a mod using programs like WordPad, Notepad, or NotePad++. I use WordPad and NotePad++ myself. You know how to get to the .minecraft folder, right? When you get in there, there should be a folder called "config." That's the folder you want. In there should be all the configs files for any mod you've installed (minus .jar mods like Optifine). Use the programs I mentioned above to open those files. Be careful while you are in there and make sure you know what you are doing. Accidentally mucking something up in there and saving it can derp up your game.
Though if you do muck something up by accident, I think you can just delete that config file, re-run Minecraft again and the mod will create its new config file as if the mod was just installed. I'm no coder but I'm pretty sure that's how it works. If I've missed anything, people of the forum, feel free to add to it and/or correct me.

Now that's a good research system. No more resource sinks and it emphasizes the 'you have to research (make notes/write stuff)'. Good stuff here, good stuff.

Last time I'll re-quote this. I'm just too darn lazy to shorten the explanation and possibly leave out something important, so why not quote the mod author himself:
This is from Nuchaz' post like... four pages back when he posted the update [v1.4.0].
So in short, placing the Marker block via Creative will make it stay there permanently as it has no hitbox and thus cannot be destroyed. But try what he says to do in the last statement and see if that works.

Use spoilers when posting crash logs please... example below:
That looks like an ID Conflict, not a bug. Go into the configs files [%appdata% / .minecraft / config] for Forestry and change the ID of either the Stained Glass block in question from Forestry or go into the Atomic Science config and change the ID of fenlie.BHeOre (whatever block this may be).
Here are three programs you can use to edit configs: WordPad, NotePad, NotePad++
