Jan 6, 2012Hey Ovus, long time no see. I logged onto the new server the other day and met Hutch. He told me you have a save of the original world. Could I get that from you somehow? Also I may start playing MC again, so expect to see me on the new server.Posted in: Minecraft Survival Servers (archive)

Anyway, there is in vision from the spawnpoint a pool of lava and a hole that has a zombie spawner literally 15 meters from the entrance. luckily the hole is too steep for zombies to pour out, as well.
Have fun with that seed should it appeal to you.
Heroes of Newerth?

Why you want to be a part of our community: I'm looking for a small Minecraft community that I can get to know with fun and enjoyable people, where I can be a significant player and not just get ignored all the time, and this seems to be it. I have never played McMMO but it sounds amazing and I'd love to give it a shot.

This server looks amazing and I would very much like the join! I've played the map before and I can only imagine how fun it will be on SMP with world politics and struggles thrown in. I don't know where I would colonize if I get in to the whitelist, probably Japan and/or eastern China.

My photobucket is out of bandwidth, so pictures are here: http://img685.imageshack.us/g/20110330200503.png/
You may have seen these, I've been posting pics of this save in the aesthetically pleasing homes thread. These builds do have plenty of cobble in them, but in my defense cobble looks pretty with my texture pack. I can easily tone it down if I join Occam. :wink.gif:
Anyway, my minecraft username is the same as my forum name, and like I said, I'd love to join if you have room!
I think that all looks fantastic! I love how you avoid anything that looks too blocky or square and make full use of gently curved edges and diagonal walls. Your color choice is also great and that sword statue is excellent. :biggrin.gif:
What texture pack are you using?
Mar 20, 2011Gerudoku ftw! I use it too.Posted in: Minecraft Survival Servers (archive)
All of the projects on here are looking great it seems. I really like that wall design for the fortress, It's very interesting to look at and fits in with "da orc" theme.
Tshara what are you going to put in that tower?
Mar 9, 2011So now that you're planning Thebe does this mean that V.B.C is done?Posted in: Minecraft Survival Servers (archive)
I would say (as much as Kalekar's say means anything on this server, but I would like to actively contribute as much as anybody else) that the city looks a little random, all of the buildings seem to be placed in no particular order. I know you were already considering this but maybe try tightening up the city and creating one central figure around which everything revolves (which I'm guessing is the statue) and have paths radiating out of that that lead to all of the other buildings just so that it's a little more organized.
I would also suggest that you place the Taj Ovus (which I assume will be the main monument besides the statue) in the back so that as visitors arrive from the sea the city gradually gets more and more epic as they walk through it, ending up in the back where the most epic piece of all is, the Taj Ovus. Unless you were planning for the house of Thebe to be the main attraction, in which case I think you're fine.
I recall you saying earlier that you wanted the statue to be like the Colossus of Rhodes, dwarfing the port with it's massive legs and being the first thing you would see as you sail in. Maybe you could even have the statue dwarf the entire city, with 2 central pedestals on which it stands on either side of the city.
Also, what materials are you planning to use? And where will Thebe be on the map?
Mar 1, 2011Hi again, Kalekar here.Posted in: Minecraft Survival Servers (archive)
I decided to start working on something big. This is the preliminary layout for a large Greek themed town. There is a large fountain in the center that will have several different paths splitting off from it. The only path outlined right now goes up a large staircase to what will be the main pantheon.
This is the side of the staircase. The braziers on the top cause the staircase to poof out around them so that there is no point on the side that is too steep.
Here is the bottom of the staircase with a design and the center fountain.
The design at the bottom is repeated in the staircase (I might have to extend it.)
This is the fountain itself.
Hope you all like this stuff!
Edit: (Yay for images finally working!)
Feb 28, 2011Hey guys.Posted in: Minecraft Survival Servers (archive)
My IGN is Kalekar and I'd like to join your server because it looks absolutely beautiful and I'd like to be a part of the most epic server out there. I've never seen an aesthetically dedicated server before but the idea is amazing, and from the looks of the people you've already recruited you must already have some awesome structures going up.
While I have yet to build something massive (I'd like to change that), I love to build nice little homes. Here's my humble desert abode. It has a pitched roof with a loft/balcony on the side.
(Sorry I don't really know how to upload them)
Feb 26, 2011Kalekar posted a message on [MAP] A new type of map... the Treasure Hunt! V1.1 now out!Bravo! That was absolutely amazing. It took me a while (considering I was running back to the solution room quite a bit) but it was fun the whole way through and the prize was spectacular. The map was also simply beautiful. The only problem I had with it is that some of the hints were a little unclear and only made sense after I had read the explanation, but besides that it was a very fun scavenger hunt. Thanks Eum3Posted in: Survival Mode
Feb 9, 2011Kalekar posted a message on Semi-RP (factions)-(nations) Accepting Applicants!I'm not sure what happened. I heard it got reset and now there is a whitelist. Could you add me Ethan? I was having a lot of fun and now I've got a lot of ideas for stuff to build.Posted in: Minecraft Survival Servers (archive)
