    Myself and many of the people I've met over the last many years through Minecraft will be doing a UHC this weekend. However, as we are on the dawn of Minecraft's 10th birthday, I'm opening this UHC to everyone! The UHC will be running on the 11th of May at 9am ET. If you are participating, please join the server at least 30 minutes prior so that we are not waiting for you when the game starts.

    Hey guys, I'm back. Been caught up with a bunch of stuff IRL. Going to update my development workspace and then release Pokecube Legends as soon as its updated. Sorry to keep you all waiting so long. It will include things for Jirachi, Shaymin, Groudon, Kyogre, Celebi, Manaphy, probably Darkrai/Cresselia. There's also a WIP structure for Dialga/Palkia/Giratina and Arceus that can be found in the world. As soon as I get dimensions working again, those 4 will also be obtainable. I'll go into more details when I release.


    Also, big plans for deoxys and Rayquaza. It's going to be out of this world ;)

    Is the the image you mean?


    Because this is without a doubt just artwork. Look in the background at those trees. Acacia's arent generally that dense and especially not so close to regular oak trees. So, even if it was based on a real world, I doubt it's one that was very natural.

    I live in Australia, the only thing that seasons do here is change the temperature and affects how long the days are. Most of our native trees are evergreen so we don't get many leafless trees over winter. Also, the reverse thing for southern hemisphere, winter is still winter, it just happens when the northern hemisphere is having summer and vice versa.

    I'm a modder, I make mods. I'm also studying a bachelor of computer science. Although I'm working on other things at the moment, want me to look into developing a client side mod for seasonal changes? If so, I need to know what it is you want changed. I should be able to change biome colours as the days go by, change the texture for leaves so they look more full or more empty depending on the season, with autumn(fall) making leaf particles fall from the blocks. Make animals look fluffier in winter and less so in summer. I might be able to change the lighting colour during certain seasons so winter feels darker and summer feels brighter.

    Time to correct a few things, seasons wouldn't necessarily be laggy, the effects of a season though? that could have performance issues depending on how extreme you wanted the seasons to be.


    Something you need to take into consideration is the way chunks are stored and loaded. If you have a season change, such as its winter, that menas in most biomes, instead of rain, you get snow, any chunk that isn't loaded when "winter" starts will only just start its new season when the surrounding chunks may have started days before. This would create some pretty funky looking looking chunk borders which break would break the illusion of minecraft's vast, expansive world. This is likely the main reason we cant have seasons.


    Lets put that aside, when you ask for seasons, are you after localised seasons, only affecting regions within the world as these would be a little more difficult to implement or a global season system, where the entire world is affected by the same seasonal change? Regardless you face another two issues:


    Local seasons: The minecraft region files would likely require a new format, for those that have been around long enough to experience these, they're not fun for existing worlds and create huge issues when playing worlds across versions.


    Global Seasons: Minecraft worlds are huge, it would seem silly for a season to affect the entire world at once. Granted, weather and the daylight cycle do this to, so this point is somewhat invalid, but the chunk storage/loading is still a very valid argument.


    If you just wanted variation within the biome colourmap and rainfall rates as the seasons change, well, the only argument I can really think against that is WHY WOULD YOU WANT MORE RAIN?

    Hi there, hoping to confirm whether or not other people are having success with using the entity criteria for "type": "player" in custom advancements. I'm not receiving any errors in the console and the advancement is showing up to be achieved, but events that should trigger it don't seem to be working. Here's one for someone else to test. If it doesn't work for others, I'll report it as a bug.

    Linkstone isn't a holdable item, therefore it shouldn't switch items out of a Pokemon's inventory.

    Did some testing and somehow, it turns out I had broken item trade evolutions. This has been fixed and a new version should be uploaded shortly. Thanks for reporting this.

    I'm sorry, I don't quite understand what you mean. What pokemon are you trying to evolve and what item item are you giving it to hold?

    That is correct. Pokemon that evolve through holding an item when traded still need to hold their item. If they do so, when clicked with a linkstone, they will evolve.


    Also, I'll be uploading a major bugfix later today, any linkstones or neverstones you have will be removed from the game.

    For all you complaining about trade evolutions, worry no more. I've made a minimod named Pokecube Expansion that aims to add a bunch of other items. Consider it an apology for not having released legends yet, but don't worry, its still being worked on. Its just quite unstable at the moment.

    POKECUBE EXPANSION

    Pokecube Legends is still in development, so, to apologize for its lateness in arriving, I've put together a small mod called Pokecube Expansion. This mod adds various items to Pokecube that either don't belong in the Core or are just useful tools to have for playing Pokecube. Over time, I will add more items that are either cannon to the games, (i.e toxic orb) or would be fun to have or are heavily requested (i.e. Linkstone).


    List of Items:


    Linkstone - Trade evo alternative. Crafted with stone surrounding Trading Table.


    Neverstone - Prevents experience gain while holding. Crafted with stone surrounding Lucky Egg.
