I usually build a small basic house and then dig a two block wide staircase down until I either hit a cave or hit diamond level. If I hit a cave then I explore it. If I hit diamond level then I just start digging a 1x2 shaft until I finally hit a cave.

Silverfish are actually just a parasite that was kind of like what fleas would be to actual people and when the Proto-Villagers were turned to Endermen, they were converted as well. As for why the Silverfish live in the Strongholds, it's because they lived on these Proto-Villagers and when they fled into villages the Silverfish weren't adapted to live in the sunlight so they died off. Eventually, Some Silverfish adapted to live off of the stone and remnants of food that were left behind. Thus, the only surviving members of the species happen to live in Strongholds. The reason they don't appear much in Abandoned Mineshafts is because they were hunted to near extinction by their natural predators, the Cave Spiders.

I would love to and probably will if I have the time. There is actually a ton more stuff to this theory that I didn't put in because it sounded out of place or just kind of made the whole thing more long-winded than it should have been. I'll probably put up a thread for it and I'll send you the link with the WHOLE story. I would love if an animator picked it up but it's not something I want to actively pursue right now.

My theories about the dungeons and what not has always been this.
Long ago, villagers were much smarter than they are now. Rather than just wander around aimlessly, they built great structures near oceans, temples in jungles and deserts, and subterranean cities. Eventually these villagers started toying around with going to different worlds. They're first experiments did not yield good results, as they sent pigs into the Nether where they mutated and became terrible creatures due to the harsh environment. They then tried going to a completely different world, one that they learned to fear and hate. They named this world The End. Soon, the dragon that lived there began infecting the people with her essence, turning the people dark and giving them unnatural powers. They became unstable beings, bent on taking apart the world that they had once known and bringing it back to their queen, the Ender Dragon. The villagers began fleeing but it was too late. Having opened portals to worlds that were no longer safe, they attempted to destroy all portals to the Nether, though not before building Strongholds there. Unfortunately, they couldn't destroy the portals to The End, only deactivate them and rob them of their power source. This was not enough to prevent the downfall of the Villager Empire though. They had unleashed a force greater than any they had known. Wildlife began to attack them, the dead rose from the ground and hunted the villagers to the brink of extinction. They abandoned their once great temples and forgot the great knowledge that they contained. Soon, the last of the great Villager Empire's people were regarded as charlatans and witches, though they alone cast spells and used potions so that the skeletons and spiders would leave them be. But the zombies were relentless. The witches themselves could not make a potion great enough to stop them and soon, even the witches had gone into hiding, far away from their aggressors, both the monsters and the other villagers. Soon, they changed from the beings they were. They became bald, their noses grew all due to the inbreeding they were now facing. Through this all, a child slept deep in the underground. Forgotten by his people, Steve awaited the day. The last of the True Villagers, found him and raised him. He taught him how to make tools and gadgetry, imbued him with the power to move matter with little more than his will. But sadly, the last True Villager was dying. He cleaned Steve's memory of his past but allowed him to retain the knowledge he had gained by the True Villager's teachings. His memory was not perfect however. Steve forgot many things he had been taught, such as the exact workings of many redstone machines but one thing had been imbued into Steve's very being. A hatred for the thing that had brought down the Villager Empire. He hated the Ender Dragon more than anything and made it his life's goal to destroy her.
And that concludes our tale. The sea had swallowed monuments, temples in deserts and jungles lie forgotten, entire cities lie hidden underground, infested by a parasite. And yet the Endermen wander. They gather and they repress the urge to slay the last of their kind. But it won't hold for long. Even looking into the eyes of Steve will send them into an uncontrollable rage, slaying him without haste.
But Steve will live and he will fight. He will slay the Ender Dragon and with it, hopefully finally cleanse his fallen brethren of the curse that has infected them. But Steve doesn't know this. He doesn't know anything.

These change won't come without consequences. Some servers are out of control, I agree. There are some disgusting, money-grubbing servers out there that have been there for the money since the beginning - but this is going to affect every server, and will outright destroy the servers that are NOT just there for the money, and will break large servers, that hundreds of thousands of players - including a lot of you people reading this play on. So yes, cheer now for the death of hypixel, for the destruction of mineplex and the annihilation of shotbow (pun intended) but realize that any minigames you play now won't have more than 50 people on them at a time. Realize that though there may be no more pay-to-wins, that there will be no more of a LOT of other servers too.
Actually, with some tricky editing, you could just put every minigame on a different server, and then charge access to those servers. IF you wanted to have them connect I'm pretty sure there is a way to do that too. I'm sure someone will figure out a way. Trust me, this is gonna be a lot better for Minecraft in the long run.
And to all those that are saying that this will be the death of Minecraft, I can not see how you are being more dramatic. One guy even said that this would be the death of the entire video game industry! Anyhow, all this is doing is evening out the playing field a little better. I mean, get over yourself and look at the big picture. There aren't that many servers that rely on soley the money they get from kits to survive, and if they do, they are doing it wrong. Sell cosmetic things or put up advertisements. Mojang is giving you the tools, you just need to use them. -
Jun 17, 2014Kain1750 posted a message on EULA Revisited: an Updated Q&A From MojangI cannot express how happy I am about this! Instead of selling individual parts of the game for obscene amounts of money servers might actually have to start running a fair and balanced way to play, instead of putting down ten bucks and then owning everyone in PvP or whatever. Honestly, this has got to be one of the most amazing things to happen legally with Minecraft since it went up on the consoles. It's actually kind of sad that they had to do this in the first place because why would you pay to get diamond armor when it would be so much simpler and more satisfying to go do it yourself, I just wish they would have done this sooner.Posted in: News
