It'll be a big job. It'll require a lot of recoding on the part of the uploader, I know that much.
We were actually discussing this earlier. We're now considering a mod interface so that the modders can create/manage the support for their mod rather than having to do it through Bramamine and I. This won't happen soon, however, due to how little time we have and the kind of involvement such a project would require.
Survivors are now displayed put together front and back. Go see for yourself! (and then come back and give me feedback). Example:
So far I'm very pleased with how its turned out, especially for LoafCraft's survivor textures- I tried making a female one once and it was pitiful.
I have to say, your texture pack is the best I've ever seen in these forums, and your style is great. I hope you get a TV show or something someday. :biggrin.gif:
There's a bug in the customizer, though, that says you didn't include a bunch of textures:
The following textures were added from defaults because the creator did not include these in their pack:
char
brownMushroom
rose
redMushroom
wool
dandelion
blackWool
redWool
pinkWool
lightGreenWool
brownWool
yellowWool
blueWool
lightBlueWool
purpleWool
cyanWool
orangeWool
lightGrayWool
portal
chainArmorIcon
fishingPoleNoWire
diamondHelmet
So my flowing lava is at 64x resolution. Is there a way I can have it still be compatible with my pack? When I downloaded it, I got this weird ****ed up resized one.
Oh I see, it requires at least 1 pixel in the space to upload the backing. I was going for full transparency for non-painting art like banners, vines, etc.
Oh, my bad, we made it so it would just ignore transparent uploads, I'll make an exception for artBacking and a few others tomorrow.
There's a pack on the site called pedo that, what little there is of it, consists entirely of stolen textures, including some of my own. I have reported the pack, but I thought I might as well post here too.
DELETED. Thanks.
Okay, how would you guys feel about us displaying your survivors stitched together like this in the customizer:
And perhaps displaying the selected inventory backdrop behind it? I've already created the script for it (I can apply it retroactively as well), I just want feedback first. The greatest downside I can see is that it doesn't display all of the texture to you or the users. This means if you're going to add an option for the back to be a cape for instance, they couldn't tell the difference (beyond your saying so in the texture's description). I think instances where this will be an inconvenience will be quite seldom, however.
(Also I can do this for stuff like the zombie if you guys wish me to).
There's a problem, both these textures upload as blank, and the 'Tallow' is labeled as 'Allow'
Also can we get an option to upload the 'painting frame' texture as well?
The 4x4 square typically filled with wood in the top right corner of kz.png is used for the 1 pixel thick frame attached to all paintings and is used for the backing of them as well.
Currently we're stuck with the default wood texture until you give us an option to upload a replacement
Renamed it to Tallow, and fixed another naming issue that might've fixed the display issue as well, so try to upload them again.
And Proloe is right, it's already supported and called 'Art Backing'.
Currently the following textures must be in a pack for it to have a random pack advertisement generated:
wood
grassGradient
foliageGradient
wheat
snow
furnace
glass
woodPlank
survivor
dirt
sideDirt
sideGrass
sideSnow
foliage
stone
cobblestone
stoneSlab
glowStone
woodDoor
Actually, survivor, grassGradient and foliageGradient aren't necessary because it'll pull from default if you don't have them. I'll make wheat and snow this way too.
it looks really awesome, but the customizer doesn't work for some reason... Whenever I click the download button, it says I have lost connection, or that internet explorer cannot show the webpage. Oh well, nice work anyway
You'll have to use a different browser, it isn't compatible with IE. (You shouldn't be using IE anyway, its a terrible browser). Try Firefox or Chrome.
Descriptions for textures? That's effectively what we already have (in fact Bramamine and I call those fields descriptions). You can use it to say 'Wooden door without the window', or 'Bed of the royal family' or 'Chocolate cake' or 'Inspired by Harry Potter' or 'Using this will give you leprosy' or 'Gold Minecart' or whatever else you feel like using it for. I don't see the need to give textures two separate associated text fields.
Steamcraft stuff seems to be mostly in order, except for the Tesla Coil and Tesla Receiver textures changing. I forgot to mention that, since they were just modified textures rather than any real changes to the layout (such as a name change). These include:
I just added support for CTM mod, which was long overdue. Instead of giving it its own section I just placed the CTM textures next to their counterparts (CTM Glass right below regular Glass).
Yes, I forgot to delete the old file. The bornite.png in the items folder is unused.
As for new textures, there are quite a few:
In the terrain folder, changes are:
ElectricLampIdle removed
ElectricLampActive removed
BlockQuartz added
EngrQuartz added
BlockUranium added
EngrUranium added
In the items folder, changes are:
ElectricLamp added
Bornite changed to Copper
In the gui folder, changes are:
nukefurnace added a new bar
chemfurnace added
steamfurnace added (with new bar)
New folder item added, containing:
lampon
lampoff
That's all, I think.
Alright, done! Check to see if I got it right.
Also, in your DokiDoki thread you link to your minecraftcustomizer page but it doesn't work because it goes to the pack "DokiDoki Texture" which doesn't exist since we changed it to just DokiDoki for you (and its customiZer with a Z, not an S :smile.gif: )
Any plans to upgrade the Steamcraft compatibility any time soon? It's been out of date for a week now, and there have been some texture changes, name changes and new textures added.
Sure, I'll do it when I get off work. It would make it much easier if you could list the texture changes and new textures for me.
Might I also add that the new version of Steamcraft deals with the bornite issue in that the item texture is now named "copper.png", instead of sharing "bornite.png" with the ore block. I very nearly forgot about this when updating texture packs for the new version, so I thought I'd let you know.
In your most recent download I still see a bornite.png in the items folder (identical to copper.png), should I ignore it and make the upload by 'filename' assume the ore in the terrain folder?

That was the only bit referencing the pack that the image was displaying, so I took packs/random/xenocontendi_2.png, it showed the image, and just went up to the directory.
That's quite an involved stumble :tongue.gif:. Speaking of which, I stumbled upon your Crayon Physics Deluxe Hard Elegant Solutions video a couple days ago, which was exactly what I was looking for.
The reason your pack isn't up is because we haven't made a format for 32x32 packs yet.
I like what you guys are doing up there with that banner, but I'm still having an issue with aether textures dirt.png and portal.png not being injected into the texture pack.
Still? I did a couple things but have no idea if it changed anything. I just downloaded Doku Saga and there was a Dirt.png in the aether\blocks folder that was 32x32 pixels; isn't that what its supposed to be?

I read his comment- unacceptable behavior. Pack removed.

I'll look into it.

Strange. We'll look into it later.
NS fire is now fixed, we'll try to fix the Aether armor tonight.

I reallly like the image you provided for the front page.

Heads up SMP, just added CTM support.

Helmets should be multi-layerable now.
