i tried out the customiser (which is a great idea) and placed redstone just appeared as a black thingy covering the surface of the block it was on. I dont think it was my fault... but it could of been.

Nah, wasn't your fault. Okay, I fixed it for Jolicraft.

Personally, I find the layout of the side very confusing.
Some of the text isn't very easily readable (mostly because I just woke up, and my eyes haven't quite adjusted yet), so I would recommend you change it to "Arial" and make it more functional, than stylish.
Most of the reason to make a customizer (the way I see it, anyway), is to make things easy to use. And I do find the customizer slightly confusing, as it seems that the customizer only work for one Texture Pack at a time. I had expected everything would be a giant compilation of a bunch of texturepacks, which would really leave room for categorization.

If my, er, "complaints" (actually, they do come across as complaints quite a bit, sorry about that) needs further detail, just request it, and I'll try to give you better feedback.

Really nice site though, and the downloading system seems flawless! :biggrin.gif:

The right side is just meant to provide some information on the pack. I am interested in knowing what was confusing about the site. It lets texture pack creators have customizable textures within their packs and gives them a nice page for their packs.

The 'giant compilation' idea does exist in a form- in the Customize Favorites page it lets you customize between all of your "favorited" packs (that have Public set to Yes) and all your favorited textures (you can favorite textures individually by beginning to drag them; a favorites chest will appear).

So...my sidegrass doesn't show up after I customized the pack.
Anyone else has something similar happening?

Thats.. strange. I used the customizer download three times to try out each side grass- it worked perfectly each time.

Could you send me either the zip you downloaded or it's terrain.png? (So I can fix it)

I'm just running a few tests on it now.

Are you able to make the pack names support characters like apostrophes, and are you able to include the word 'Pack' before the version name? When I downloaded mine just then it came up as 'Cheezy 1.05.zip', and I'd prefer than to be 'DaCheezball's Cheezy Pack 1.05.zip', if that's possible.

We disabled use of apostrophes because allowing them was more trouble than it was worth. I'm afraid you'll have to settle for 'DaCheezballs Cheezy Pack' :sad.gif: . As for including Pack before the pack version in the filename, I think we could make that a toggle-able option.

Well the texture packs section agrees anyway :wink.gif:
Some of the other sections are..... let's just say, less great...
Doesn't really fuss me though because I spend most of my forum time here anyway! :biggrin.gif:

Got another suggestion for you: you should add a comments section on each of the texture packs pages. That way people could leave feedback/ tell you of bugs or whatever and it might eliminate the need for a separate forum. Plus it would let people express their love for your pack!
I was thinking about this being similar to the way planet minecraft does their comments section except with a slightly neater format. (the ratings system works quite well there too)

Hmm? We do have a comment section on every texture pack page (pack creators can disable it) or am I misunderstanding you?. No rating features yet, though.

I'll have you know I signed up just to comment on this texture pack. I tried out the "customize pack" as well as your version and I only found one problem with it. in the "customize" the moss cobblestone did not show up as it should, it just turned into normal cobblestone. I'll post an image if you need it. Love the pack though, it's the only texture pack I will ever use

That's my fault (site co-creator), sorry. Fixed it!

How do you upload the individual textures? say, I want to have alternate ore and grass available. What do? =3
Seems like a great site so far. =)
Oh, and for the redstone texture, have it show the two textures below it. They're part of the redstone texture.

This is gonna be great for allowing more customization with my pack. =)

On the publish page (AKA edit page), you simple upload the textures using the uploader at the bottom. You can either specify what you're going to upload (like dirt) and upload dirt textures, or you can upload your terrain.png and it'll break it apart for you.
If you have uploaded more than one texture for something (like grass) then it'll automatically make a customizer for it on your page. Its as simple as that.

What do you mean about the "redstone texture"?

Ah thank you, I must have missed those. :happy.gif:

Is the back canvas to the paintings from the kz.png housed anywhere? I thought it would be with the art files, but I can't seem to find it.

Keep up the great work. :smile.gif:

Ah, woops, forgot about the painting backs. I just added it. Increased upload limit to 4mb (is that high enough?) and added slots.png.

I've run into a bit of a problem.

My texture pack is mostly 32x32. Some of my files though are equivilant to a 64x64 pack, these files are custom fire, particles and items. When I try to upload the items file which is 4mb it says that my files can't be more then 2mb. Surely that can't be a limit for everything, because if it were so you wouldn't be able to house 128x128 packs etc, so I'm guessing the problem lies with the items.png being larger than the rest of the pack. Is there a fix to this besides scaling the items down, because I need the detail? Hope I was clear enough.

Also it doesn't have a place for the bg.png file which is the background for the achievement screen, the slot.png from the gui folder or the custom fire files which are custom_fire_n_s.png and custom_fire_e_w.png. It doesn't have any of the title files either from what I could see. Could these be added?

    It's a great site though.

Hmm, when we designed it we didn't realize that MC Patcher allows you to combine varying resolutions across the images- we'll try to rewrite the uploader to support this. We'll add slot/bg/customfire support very soon. Title files should be there (they're named Main Menu Title and Splash).

Thanks for the feedback, though. This is exactly the kind of stuff we need to know.

Sounds Good. I'll try to message some of the top guys. It seems there are so many people
looking for a spot to customize there alternate textures and your system is extremely
simplistic and easy to learn, so we'll see how it goes...

That's true. Most popular packs also feature alternates. Take Glimmar's Steampunk, for instance, which has over 500 alternates.

This thread should honestly be pinned. Your customizer is nothing, but superb. I
can't wait to see all the big name users posting their packs on the site.

Fantastic job! Months of work payed off!

Thanks! As a texture pack consumer I'm just as excited. You could help it along by giving your favorite texture pack developers a headers up :wink.gif:

For the past two months my good friend Bramamine and I have worked to create a website that would give a customizer functionality to anyone who wanted it. Today we proudly present MinecraftCustomizer.net! Even if you don't need a customizer, this site is fantastic for hosting your texture packs.

Keep in mind that it's still in Alpha, so to get the site to a fully optimal state we'll need your help by reporting bugs and oversights to help us catch anything we may have missed. We'll be adding a lot more features in the next few days, and support for the most popular mods (we'll need your help to know just what they are). You can send reports/suggestions/feedback/deaththreats to either me ([email protected]) or Bramamine ([email protected]).

If you want to be updated on the site's progress, follow me on Twitter, and maybe even that Bramamine kid too.

    Enjoy!
