I find possible for that to be true but remember that is was posted on March 31 so it might be a big update and maybe not. Most April Fools updates are smaller.

Mojang decided that april fools would be better the day before april 1st because it is less expected.

Why do I have to wait so long to repost a better version of someone's suggestion. We've had an influx of suggestions about this dimension lately. Everyone seems to be presenting it in a bad fashion- ways that don't get support. I'm sorry for the boasting and intentions but I aspire to knock out everyone's negative rebuttals. This only has a few good points in it. Unfortunately grabbing ledges is too specific for minecraft- this is a world where everything is compacted into 1x1 meter sized voxels. It seems inappropriate to interact with small fractions of blocks based on the games history. Tiny support (pretty much no support).

This doesn't fit traditional methods but I like the challenges. Over all detail is good. However feels a lot like a mod. The zombie pigmen trailing you is probably the coolest thing to me. Well them and the bone structures. Additionally, regular soul sand should have an animated texture of the faces moving/moaning. A Little support. Too many fixes/changes. Subtle additions will have a higher chance of support.

posted a message on New Dimension Idea - The Ethereal Plane
    Quote from BlackPhoenix73»

Hello, my idea is that we have a new dimension, i know mojang is finished modifying the end to have some value besides XP, but i thought a new dimension would spice things up a bit.

So my idea for a dimension would be like the aether mod, you know, a land floating in the heavens with a bright theme and interesting wildlife, i thought it could be like a dimension which encourages the use of the elytra to travel around, in this dimension there would be pillars with magical air vents shooting up form the clouds that when you walk over or fly over would propel the player into the air, the air vents could mined and taken to other dimensions so you have an almost unlimited use of the elytra.

The way how you would travel to this dimension would be using diamond, gold, redstone, iron and coal blocks and a beacon to make a teleportation device that shoots you upwards into this dimension.

I understand that this whole idea sounds like the aether mod and the sky biomes from Trove but I still think its a good idea.

If you have an idea for a dimension leave it as a comment, We would like to hear it.

DO NOT ANSWER IN A NEW POST, EDIT YOUR SUGGESTION.

Alright you need some concept art and more detail. What do these vents do more specifically, how high do the vents propel the player? How are they crafted? Are they crafted? What does the terrain look like? More info on this teleportation device; images and concept art of it and the crafting/ layout of the blocks. Also I feel that their is too many blocks that don't give a concentrated idea. The End and Nether both have very specific centralized methods to get into them. Your idea requires every "compact ore block" to get their. I don't really see how this collage fits. It seems too mod like.

So more detail and concept art.

    Quote from jdc997»

Well, I kind of like this idea, it's a good replacement for over-complicated one-command mods. The only problem I have with it is that you have such a small space to work with. 2,744 blocks may seem like a lot, but you need space to work with (otherwise your contraption will be a jumbled mess). You should have the ability to select how many sections (the correct term for the current cubic chunks) large your space to work with will be.

    I Support.

I was just thinking about the spawn chunks really. I wasn't sure of the difficulty to insert a section of a chunk so I suggested at a safe amount. I do agree with the size issue though. I'll ask some my mate Sam what he thinks. (Samasaurus6) Thanks for the feedback and support Jdc997.

Oh as I was responding below it dawned on me that 16x16x16 is all that is really needed. Using a one command mod in the injector would work brilliantly. Problem solved haha. As long as the set block is coordinated for the spawn chunks you're in business!

    Quote from The12345Miner»

Yeah, i guess it can be good if you want to do something COMPLETELY blind.

But here's one more idea: Make that schematics files, that you can put into your world folder, like loot tables, that would make it easier to install for people who dont know how to do stuff with command blocks, and make it possible to add command block contraptions for your existing worlds: when loading the world the game will check for new schematics and paste them into the world

I agree with the schematic in a folder idea. Way easier to implement/share them but the new gamemode still seems to be the easiest user friendly method to compose with. Thanks for the feed back and support :)
    Quote from Badprenup»

Not a bad idea but I would rather it be in a new dimension that is unreachable by players without an admin only teleport. Basically it would be a plane of bedrock and any chunks that always stays loaded (so it is always functional) but isn't rendered unless an admin is in the dimension. Then it could be as large as needed (any chunks that only contain bedrock and air would not be saved to save space), and it isn't a big bedrock cube sitting at the bottom of spawn. All it needs is a command to trigger it, and to be honest we need a commant to directly power a block at set coordinates anyways.

The issue that I see with this has to do with spawn chunks. I have not looked into what is necessary for command blocks to run inter-dimensionally. I thought that putting this small section in the bottom of the dominant spawn chunk would be the easiest way to implement this idea. While the dimension idea is theoretically awesome for command blocks all around, I have to say that I feel mojang isn't keen on the idea themselves. Dimensions are a pain. So lets take this at baby steps to get it started. This little 16x16x16 has a ton of possibilities as it is. Also Summoning more commands in is also not out of question. Use a single command in the command space to add in the rest. Thanks for the feedback!

...Yeah... I don't have any bias with this. Would some heavenly sky dimension be interesting? Sure, I wouldn't complain. But people are so attached to the idea that they'd break their own legs just for it to be real. If there wasn't an Aether mod at all, or no mention of this kind of dimension of Mojang, would people still want it? This is the same the "we neee33eed the red dragonnn!" stuff.

Some people are. If I'm "angered"... you'll know. Trust me.

I actually think there would still be a want because of 2 things mainly: 1. The Nether being a thing- people seek continuity, and unfortunately the game really does reflect on the heaven hell aspect (mostly at the introduction of just the nether). 2. Elytra officially being a thing further supports the idea of a biome/place suited for it (with its use in mind for the area).

I never said the idea was unworthy. The worst I've said about this is that it'd be redundant to have another 'floating islands' type dimension. Then I openly admitted the dimension would be interesting if added.

Well make it no longer redundant! Help solve the problem. If this is an inevitable thing wanted in the game then help it happen so this topic is no longer redundant, poorly created suggestions. I know as a critic it isn't our place to make the suggestion but we definitely have an influence in the way we critique in it so having an impact on the community. A series of epic proportions that cause a butterfly effect can greatly benefit us. If even you like the idea, help it stop being a redundant repost. I guess just saying it's redundant and over suggested isn't helping it being re-suggested. One of these days a high quality version of this suggestion may be the perfectly needed execution to get the idea backed and implemented.

Also sorry for the poor claims before- You have a very closed mannerism in your critiques that make it hard to tell what your "full" take is.

posted a message on Command Block Injector

With the addition of 1.9 command blocks, I see potential for Command Block injectors/chunk memory injections. You have a file of one section chunk amount of information stored in a file similar to the loot tables (for ease of access and sharing an injection). The player can start a new type of world that only renders 14x14x14 usable voxels. The only things that can be placed are command blocks and power supplying redstone related blocks. Once the player has made their own custom use for the section format world, they save and exit the world. Upon saving, the outer most blocks are turned into bedrock.

Now the player creates any type of new world that they wish. A new world option/setting is to inject this section "schematic" the player made in the cubic format world. If chosen, the 16x16x16 schematic will be placed in the players world upon starting the new world. The 16x16x16 replaces 16x16x16 blocks at bedrock level and up.

This injector option lets players manipulate their gameplay to their liking. Typically (In the past) the player starts a world, edits it via another program or by hand, saves and reloads the world then plays it. But now the player can have the surprise that any visiting player would when starting a new world. You could "program your gameplay". No more spoilers for your world like the traditional method had. Now its just inject and start new world!

    The possibilities are endless!!!:

Survival games, Factions, Survival challenges, mini-games, mini-adventure maps, UHC, Huge Dynamic adventure maps, single player challenges, and so, so, so much more!

Wow, the absolutely extreme want for some Aether dimension is insane. People rewire their brains into thinking we need that. Didn't Jeb say something like "There'll be no more dimensions! Stop asking!"

Based on that statement alone you have social norms that dictate your opinion on this suggestion. The wiring you speak of is a social norm. We ( the people for this idea ) see a great common good and place for this idea to be in minecraft Pretend this idea can make it in the game- explain why and why not this is a good suggestion. Would you enjoy this suggested place? Please entertain yourself with the idea of this suggestion.

posted a message on New Dimension Idea - The Ethereal Plane

I don't usually write controversial responses, but when I do; it's because society has reached my tipping point.

From a developer stand point of my own-

The End started as the Aether. Then it was scrapped and became the End. Additionally the Sky Biome name wasn't changed to the End biome because the game was in a state to have a finished feel to it, and thus we were gypped of a sky biome/dimension. This idea sounds really fun. If you (other critics) really are going to state that this is a bad topic then why would so many knowledgeable people be asking for it- It's understandable that there are a lot of bad ideas (Like Herobrine) but this one actually has a potential place in minecraft. There isn't one JUSTIFIED thing about how this place doesn't fit into the game. The End is an alternate inter-dimension. This sky dimension is a place that has been negated and substituted but not replaced. Why would a Sky world be the end of the game? Where is the fun in it? The End was a way to solidly mark an ending to the game.

Drop your Social Norms!!! Things that have a potential have a chance. There are enough experienced "suggesters" here that do support this idea. It is foolish and kind of convoluted to assume that this biome/dimension can't exist. This whole Social Norm issue is out of hand.

The execution of the suggestion is crucial. Could all the critics do their selves a favor and critique without a BIAS! There is a great chance that people would like a lot of ideas. They just have to be presented and executed correctly. This suggestion hasn't done a thing to be shamed on. Also for the critics that are saying the end is in the sky or is the sky dimension- you are technically wrong. It. Used. To. Be! As in not what it is anymore. Ignore the IDE name that the END has because that is kind of lazy development / a method to avoid correcting tons of internal issues. It is not in the sky. It is in another dimension with all in game player friendly references pointing to its politically correct name being the END. Lifting the hood up and seeing minecrafts internals indicates that the end was a change. Sure they(mojang) don't have much known intention on adding a sky/aether/dimension to the game but there is no substantial evidence saying that they wouldn't.

The End was a product of development. Like pigmen, they weren't scrapped for their "fittingness" within minecraft they were obviously scrapped for reasons relating to time constraints and objectives that were needed to be met to "finish" the game for the 1.0.0 Release. [Just watch the story of mojang documentary, it may help you see what was happening behind the scenes.] Now the dev's are probably in a stage where they don't want to add another dimension (not that they don't like dimensions, they are just hard to make) but to my knowledge aren't against the idea. It is a lot of work to add a dimension. Mods that add dimensions are not full implemented elements that correctly support and run efficiently for the game. The amount of work is intimidating.

    My reflection on the suggestion:

This is brilliant. There is a ton of in game elements that would make this dimension really cool. If for instance this dimension was added, I personally think it would be cool to make it accessible by going beyond the height limit. Imagine the crazy slime block + elytra combination people would make to reach it.

My advice is to make some references, make an original name, consider this as a biome instead of it's own dimension. Make some concept art, make a in game display and screen shot it to show everyone. The way you represent this is key to whether or not it is implemented.

Rewrite/ edit your post to get this anti bias issue going around, post it as a disclaimer to hopefully enlighten all of the people with fixed opinions. The stronger the detail in the suggestion the greater! Don't copy anything but the in the sky element. Go somewhere original with this that sets it apart from the Aether. I would like to mention that if this is included in the game they are going to name it whatever they(mojang) want and there's probably a good chance they'll name it aether anyways.

SUPPORT Do me a favor and don't let me down. Please work on this topic.

Okay so check my response above. I found a way to make it a smidge more difficult to get the pigmen in method 1. Every pig has a 2/5 chance of being able to become a zombie pigman. If this solution isn't enough I think it would be interesting to make it to where using the carrots like bonemeal on them could be a solution.

    Let me know your thoughts.

Well, I have a few things to say about this suggestion:

    1. Pigmen have been suggested many times in the past and have rarely, if ever, gained a large amount of support. However, this is a bit different than most I've seen.

    2. Method 1 is too easy, Method 2 is too hard. With method 1, a good pig breeder, with a large carrot farm can make plenty of these pigmen in no time. With method 2, you'd have gotten to the point where the only practical use for these pigmen is fighting the wither (in the event that you've actually gained enough wither skulls to do so), mob grinding, or doing modded dungeons. In addition, with a large wheat farm, you could be giving them stacks of bread. Payment neutralized.

    3. Zombies turning your hard work back into zombie pigmen seem more annoying than anything else and should only be in hard.

    4. Your mock-up GUI doesn't include slots for the player's inventory, and the sword icon is reversed (it should be pointing right).

    5. This pretty much makes donkeys, mules, and wolves obsolete.

Overall, I'm going to say that this is something I would personally like in Minecraft, but also doesn't fit Minecraft.

    Partial Support.

    Responses:
    1. I tried pretty hard to balance this and thanks for the feedback. This feedback will hopefully help me make it more vanilla-esque.

2.I realize it's pretty easy but before I had a method that was too hard- my response will hopefully balance this a bit more. I discovered that going into the nether in general isn't a bad method here. Ghasts also fly and all sorts of enemies reside in the nether. Of course an experienced player doesn't need these changes (despite the amplified difficulty in 1.9) but as a gameplay mechanic option I think that (attempting to negate a bias) the pigmen could be decent alternative methods for some players to use. I'll admit there is already a ton of content that myself and many others dont use that are in the game, yet they are there when we want them. Also method 2 is to be seen as an abundant reward after reaching the end.

2.continued: I have also thought about making it to where the player can have a limited number these pigmen as followers. But then it seems like it's too nerfed. The player can have an infinite number of wolves and ect. Why should these be different? Also unless you know how to make a gold farm (ironically with zombiepigmen) a lot of casual players will have to work for their gold carrots. -okay I just remembered that 1 gold ingot now gives 9 nuggets... this is a problem. I forgotten how easy it is to get gold nuggets. So without making a new item- I need to find a way to make them harder to obtain....

    3. Well it's really equal to zombie villagers. So yes it's going to be annoying but it also isn't out of bounds. I specified that if the pigmen don't wear full armor this is a possible issue. I see the concern is; "why would I travel with pigmen if they are the most susceptible mob to the most popular spawning enemy?" and my answer is: I think a rebalance to where they only have a 1/4 chance of being zombified could help balance this. Also the suggestions guide says try not to use difficulty as a cop-out solution in suggestions...

    4. The mock up gui is only supposed to show the pigmans inventory + 9 slots. I thought that others were able to infer that the players inventory would be displayed below the pigman's gui..... also I wasn't aware that the sword had to point in any specific way??? Given that I made it without another existing in the vanilla game :/?

    5. Donkeys aren't really affected by this unless you think that mules are obsolete. They (mules) are only near "obsolete" when one passes a threshold. One can have as many pigmen as they want. I need to mention one can't ride them (pigmen) obviously so that's already a plus (for mules). It takes 3 pigmen to level out to a mule in inventory space and the mule is still free. Perhaps a patch would be that one cannot retrieve item's given to pigmen unless they are already in service to the player. Making the player pay to use their inventory, however note that the player can give them similar items compared to armor stands for gameplay mechanics- say I make a castle around a village and I have a ton of pigmen and I want them to have armor for when enemies spawn, the catch being that I cannot get the armor back without paying to get it back- or killing the pigman. Wolves have a completely different use than pigmen- they are free to keep only costing bones- this makes them easier to get. Once you get a pigman there is still purpose to have wolves/dogs- you can control the way they are used- pigmen spontaneously attack enemies when following you and you can only run away to get them to stop, dogs can be forced to sit and then retrieved. When players with unstable play styles play they may not have the ability to afford pigmen in their current condition giving wolves a time to shine. Also it's not to where one can't have both following the player. Another note, while they seem like they make things obsolete (when they don't)

    6. I understand that this can appear to play out like it doesn't fit in minecraft, however I want to let you know all things vanilla minecraft flavored that this idea has a place in the vanilla game. It will of course require the use of a mod to demonstrate but I plan showing the way they are balanced in game.

Thankyou for the partial support- I need to figure out a new item (instead of golden carrots) to give them. Also maybe nerfing them in attack and ect. Do you have any solutions or inference to help this issue (I'll figure something out but 2 people are more likely able to avoid further issues than 1).

    Why do we need this

    no support

Minecraft doesn't typically add things "needed" until they've got a continuity issue. Also within the realms map making community - we are always talking about getting features that this has. Why did we need shulkers? Why did we need rabbits? Why did we need anything other than things that gave the game continuity (Horses, guardians, ocealots, ect...)? This is a gameplay feature. Please make a better and detailed response because yours is really vague and not very helpful. It doesn't have to be advice or even nice things said, just at least list reasons this would be a bad implementation. Check out the thread for "being a critic". Please.... Really, technically, we never "needed" anything, it was just stuff we really "wanted".

Time's were not defined because I didn't know how to calculate it until now. So say any food is going to be ranked by the saturation it normally gives: high saturation, medium saturation, low saturation. Each one of these can sustain the time period respectively; High sat- 5 minutes per individual food (ie (5x64) 320 minutes per stack of high sat food) Medium sat- 3 mins per indv food (ie 192 mins per stack) Low sat- 2 minutes per indv food (ie 120 per stack). Emeralds on the other hand are 3 times better than high saturation- so 15 mins per emerald (960 mins per stack) so I think that's kind of balanced haha. In one sense emeralds appear more valuable.
