Yes same as normal arrows, and loving the name :D Ima change it. also look at some new things ive thought up:

This biome is primarily a hunting-vibe-ish biome:

    would deer be over-rated?

Cross bow upgrade (increased firerate arrows only do half a heart of damage and less accurate than a normal bow)

And i'm really leaning toward a potion of hunting with the fox tails or instead of a new bow; new arrows using the foxtail in the crafting recipe that when fired, fire 3 arrows.

Actually that may be cooler but i feel like i'd be suggesting too much. I love the idea I'll emphasize that idea later because it sounds really cool. Just a biome+mob+item+new blocks+potion is really pushing it lol

I think a better name would be something like "Autumn Forest" or "Deciduous Forest" etc, because Red Wood, while not quite the same as Redwood, suggests a redwood forest, which is something completely different.

I think a better use for Fox Tails would be in brewing, perhaps a "Potion of the Hunter" that imbues some kind of Archery bonus, such as faster draw speed, faster arrow travel speed, chance to spawn a bonus arrow depending on rank, etc, might be more flavor appropriate to Minecraft. I can't think of any recipes in Minecraft where an added ingredient adds some sort of magical powers to the tool.

    autumn biome?

Thats a point i just covered yeah Red-Autumn biome. I want the name to have red in there just because i want original emphasis on the biome inspiration.

I thought the same, lol, what if you seen that in a dungeon, btw that is literally the color hued from green to red on the actual mossy cobblestone block.

Yeah sorry i didnt think about the coincidence there, oops..... sorry. It wouldn't- it makes shots less centered if anything and more of a tribal-hunter decor that acts as a bow modifier.

The thing is its to be autumn colored and since its a biome i was leaning more toward the idea that even the moss is red, which in reality there is red-yellow moss, but mossy cobblestone is different from red-mossy cobblestone in this instance. I wanted a variation of colored leaves too, but i cant simulate that, and also i seen a really immersing red tree forest with a similar pallet on a scented candle picture that really inspired the red, but couldn't find that image to share unfortunately. Also the bow would just be a little more inaccurate, more bird shot. I'd like to think the bow can hit within 2 blocks radius of a targeted block 20 blocks away, 3 blocks radius at 30 so on so forth. The enchantments would be the same as the normal bow, but the durability is 1/3 the normal bow hence the 3 arrows per fire. No the foxes aren't hostile when attacked, I don't want them tamable because we have a good number of tamable creatures, although a pet fox would rock... but its too spammed.

the arrows would be much more in accurate than the norma/current actual bow to balance for. And yes they could be enchanted.

I like your stance, but for experimental curiosity or addiction to the idea, i have to say I still want to see mojangs original potential uncut.

This is a suggestion to "correct" minecraft (if thats the word) so we can get more from the game, I just was emphasizing on points that may come out of such a suggestion.

posted a message on Overhaul Minecraft based on development leads
So Minecraft 2 isn't in question. But a dramatic update maybe??? Like any that first delve into the world of production, people can obviously get far with their work but stumble upon some things that they wanted to improve on but were afraid, perhaps, that the followers would become insecure to see that change because they fear it would ruin the project.

Minecraft may be in that scenario; thousands or millions of people are looking at mojangs every move just to be sure that they are developing on this fine line. They have passed up many opportunities and or simply turned them down because of this "fear" (it can can be called) of their audiences approval of their work. But if one of these ideas could ever be worked out (in "secret" perhaps) should the audience, we, us be so quick to judge.

I would love to see an overhaul. I could wait a year long update or more to see the kinks and denied ideas be reworked to see mojangs unearthed (previously dropped) potential. They shouldn't need our acceptance to make these decisions, it is their game after all but we are picky eaters and may not feed on their new surplus.

    1. Mojang knows what they are doing.

    2. The hearts and minds that made the game obviously wouldn't make it where it can be destroyed.

    3. What-if we let them do such a thing- is it too scary to find out it may have been a needed thing all along?

Minecraft could benefit from an overhaul and here are some reasons why:

    • The game is built upon little tweaks and pieces that have several holes that have bugs and such - almost every game - and with each update they cover these holes up with temporary-like solutions (patches). Yes there are always going to be bugs, no matter how they or we approach it, but wouldn't it be nice if they had a cleaner canvas to update on. Imagine all the problems of bugs and ect. being a less occurring factor for them to fix every time they update the game. Imagine minecraft where chunks don't need to be loaded in-game they are just "there" (if that is understandable, the underlying thing here being the behind the scenes rendering is done and complete-even if the illusion of patches already achieve this, it's still a work around for various unknown problem we may not see in update development.

    • Improvements that had been shut out because of the "fear" factor. Improvements like the combat system Jeb wishes could be "redone." You say: "Oh but that can be fixed in an update :P." Why make more work when an overhaul could directly reproduce minecraft as is but have these unimplemented features hard coded to the game. Needless bugs are no longer such a hassling issue and we get more clean(less buggy) content. Don't for a second think this is all in it just to re-do the combat system because I'm sure Mojang could compile a list of perks to an overhaul than simply changing the games combat.

    • The game could now openly dev for mods- wouldn't this help thousands. Mod support is always needed and people constantly see mods being destroyed by updates time and time again, but with things hard coded instead of patched mods may be only be broke by updates that interfere with modified values or components. Not only that but how about something like forge directly integrated into the game- not to insult , but instead hire them perhaps to coach and dev with Mojang.

    • In game file share. (Now you think I'm asking too much and don't know what i'm talking about). I assure you it can happen, this "overhaul" would definitely help this integration and realms is so close to this it's ridiculous to think we have to third party maps to share still.

    • A chance to move the game off of Java and to something else... idk c++ :P
Indefinitely there are many other areas of inclusion to this overhaul- shaders, resource pack creator and sharecenter, skin editer and share center. This list goes on but If they tried doing any of this with out an overhaul it's definitely gonna be more than they can chew and why not get it out of the way for 1.10 or whatever 1.9's predecessor may be called?

With the extra employees that need paychecks, would it be reasonable to expect that minecraft 2 would also have to be purchased? If so, would you agree that most of the current minecraft players would resent the change, feeling that they would need to make an additional purchase in order to receive the best performance?

Yes but only fair, right? Both the way I interpret it would be worthwhile, mc2 may be pricier- but not disappointing and not destroying mcv, but is it wrong for developers of a game to create more really good games that don't offend the other? also ntm you could be in a whole new revamp of beta again, which was arguably some of the most entertaining days of mc.

posted a message on What about Muskets? (Realistic, Balanced, SMP friendly) 130+ Supporters!
Love the Idea of muskets, needs sharing and dev attention. I have the offering of a tag or modifier for all your opposers; people want modern guns-unfortunately, but with a texture pack it makes more sense, so i suggest a tag/enchantment with a fire rate, although enchantment is a little op, but machine guns without mods or loads of command would make a vanilla happy. Ntm people have been dying for a bow tag/enchantment for firerate in vanilla. If it doesn't debut for the bow, how about the musket?
