I'm having the same problem- did you just change the grass_side.tga ? I cannot even get a grass side to work.... (is it just the dirt.png + the grass_side.tga, or is there an actual independent grass_side texture?)

I don't really get why your download link is inconveniently under the description of the youtube video, I'd have put it proudly on my post if I were you. Seriously, though, this is great! I want more people to see it.

The modelling, cutscenes, and terrain are top-notch. I was also surprised to see my name credited when I didn't even do anything. I seemed to experience a few bugs, though, which makes me wonder if it may be due to performance problems as this PC isn't particularly powerful.

Not sure if a bug, but Zelda's voice at the start only said "Link" repeatedly, instead of matching the dialogue. Also, my game crashed when I first loaded the map (hopefully that didn't cause any problems with your redstone), probably due to the lagspike from loading the resourcepack.

Foraging anything would show the purple 'missing texture' texture as a particle effect.

Magnesis was extremely buggy for me in the Oman Au shrine, the first bridge wouldn't connect at all (I had to use the blocks to cross it), and the blocks wouldn't stay hovering over me, resulting in me being blocked by them so I could barely move at all whilst moving them.

No idea what recipes there are for cooking, I tried some from the actual game but couldn't get any to work besides baked apples.

Finally, after doing the Keh Namut shrine (cryonis) I got stranded as my warmth effect (from an elixir I found in a chest [side-note: I don't understand why you used bread to represent an elixir instead of simple potions, it confused me when I couldn't drink it at first due to having a full hunger bar]) ran out whilst I was completing the shrine - eventually I figured out that the 'freeze' effect is only applies when I'm stood on a snow-layer block,
but it may be a good idea to give the player a small amount of warmth effect whenever they exit/respawn at that shrine.

So most of that is a compromised set of issues.

Zelda's voice was intentionally distorted and only said link intentionally.

Magnesis is one of the better functioning runes haha. The delay in the execution for tp entity was the reason it would get buggy- I should have made it more obvious for people but you have to jump into the particles with a magnesis platform to make a bridge.

For the bread- there was a severe color and effect issue using the potions. I actually made custom potion models that were a pain. That was the intended idea at first.

There are a crap load of bugs- I hope overtime I can update the download. Also I linked the download in the YouTube description to help make the video more popular so it's a more relevant search result.

After 3 years of monotonous, on and off production, learning, watching many tutorials, contacting experts and so on so forth; I bring you my biggest and first project for Minecraft:

Zelda Breath of the Wild in Minecraft

This project condenses the tutorial area of [the source material] The Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild's "Great Plateau" and includes removed content from early development of the source material. It also includes my own additions. A new dungeon not within Zelda Breath of the Wild. And several easter-eggs. It is a single player experience and not to run on a server (to be tested). Requires a machine that can run at minimum 16 chunks render distance and can withhold 30-60 fps. There are bugs, but I have had multiple %100 runs without encountering them. I apologize if you encounter them.

Contains re-orchestrated music from Zelda Breath of the Wild, please take this into account before monetizing YouTube lets-plays. I myself haven't received any copyright infringement on the music via testing on YouTube videos. Monetization is at your discretion as are the penalties.

If you have further questions tweet me at [email protected] : https://twitter.com/KSKISPER

All textures and 3D models done by Kiptrix, myself.

Please enjoy, I made this for you.

Well perhaps it was a coincidence or it was the work of Dinnerbone(whom I likely cannot contact because of popularity) as this idea sounds like something he started.

That means one of two things has happened:
    1. Someone (hopefully the creator) reposted it on Reddit.
    2. Coincidentally, Mojang came up with the same idea.

They mentioned having a reddit post too, but there was some sort of celebratory (almost necroposting) comment the author had- in shock his/her idea had been seemingly added to the game. It was super identical like coincidence on steroids to the addition mojang made. The post was from 2014 too. I made a long comment on it celebrating the chance it was looked at with said author- just 2 weeks ago. Now in my posts- it is gone and isn't in the suggestions thread anywhere.

However- I think mojang may want people to not know they are observing these ideas, because by them anonymously viewing, there is no controversial bias or hysteria in the thread. Shoot i was one of Maria's (@MiaLem_n parrot creating dev at mojang) first hundred followers and I'd be willing to tweet her and see if she would admit to viewing the suggestion, but if there is an agenda to remain anonymous, surely i wont receive an answer.

The point is that they look elsewhere, like Reddit, not here.

So i just tried to site an example but it appears the post/thread has been removed(this was hardly a week or two ago i found it). Someone made a parrot suggestion on here from 2014 and low and behold it's super identical to the parrots now.

Lol, A suggestion is better received if you can encompass as many functions and features necessary and applicable to the suggestion. This way the suggestion isn't easily disregarded and attracts many different opinions and demographics.

"4 - Know your audience. Mojang doesn't typically read these suggestions, they are just a fun way to talk about what you want in the game. So it is a good idea to address your idea towards other posters, not to Mojang themselves."

Basically i think they think of ideas and then search for what other people may have come up with for the same concept then see if our designs, ideas or general input is something they'd like to incorporate.

Any likely chance a hall of fame or list of quality suggestions will make a return either in this Topic, or a new perhaps pinned thread? I mean to make efficient use of the suggestions forum a way to see the suggestions without digging through thousands of posts or using the monotonous search bar would be great for people to see, talk, respond to and have reference to quality suggestion posts? A library of sorts.

Besides, how will anyone's ideas ever be noticed if the dev's don't have a way to view the 'highly supported and quality' suggestions? They don't take a liking to being spammed, reddited and tweeted at. It's sort of a battlefield here to keep a suggestion relevant. a library sort of thing would diminish that issue.

Perhaps a separate thread for quality suggestions categorized by size and features (small, medium, large).

but really, minecraft could utilize the color mapping for biomes to adjust to and incorporate seasons- rain and snow particles, 'leaf' particles in autumn, snow in certain biomes. An additional biome map like the color map could be a reference to show or tell the game what biomes do what in what season. Instead of the 'snow layer' block being placed(and causing lag) a texture of snowy dust would render and could reduce lag big-time.

    Quote from TheMasterCaver»

I actually added this in my mod for the very reasons you gave, since it gives some interesting Survival opportunities, especially when I also made dead bushes renewable (bonemeal a dead bush to get more):

It makes even less sense for bonemeal to grow dead bushes but Minecraft isn't realistic, and where do dead bushes come from anyway (they had to have been some sort of plant, the closest thing they resemble is oak saplings).

As for desert oasis, that's what my version of Desert M has instead of water lakes; they are actually special mini-biomes generated in a different way from normal biomes (they are more like structures in the way they generate; one is generated per 8x8 chunk area):

Of course, not every desert should have them, which increases their variety (there are three types of desert in my mod, relatively flat normal deserts (desert hills can get higher though), a mountainous desert with mountains that can reach extreme hills levels, and the aforementioned Desert M, which also has cacti that generate/grow to 6 blocks tall instead of 3 (height dependent on x/z coordinates so not all grow to 6 blocks). Villages only generate in the first and last and only within their spawn biomes (as with pre-1.10) so they aren't as messed up by terrain). Another feature of deserts can also be seen in the screenshot above; notice the iron ore in the cave in the lower-left, which was generated prior to converting stone down to y=40-45 to sand/sandstone, giving some interesting caves (it is a bit harder to get stone but ~20 layers is not that much and along with veins of sand replacing dirt and gravel within this layer you can easily get a lot of sand/sandstone without digging up the surface).

This is great! I wish the community wasn't so big (kind of). Little additions like these back in the day were able be to noticed and implemented.

I don't hate the idea, but I don't think something should be added just to satisfy the way you personally wish to challenge yourself sometimes. Because other than your scenario, there isn't really an actual reason to add this.

Totally agree- the suggestion isn't 'needed' but it doesn't harm anything to have this feature implemented. However reason could be taken more dynamically. I simply want feedback to this if it were added. I want objections and why or approvals and why.

1- People are killing me because I said Bears are more rare and more cool than horses... OH GOSH SORRY KEEP CALM D:

2- Okay, I guess I'll add the thing of taming them with salmon : P

Just a heads up- people hate so many tamable mobs- make the bear rentable using salmon instead? Armor etc. drops when they are killed or you can re-rent them. This adds more functionality independent of the horse (also making the bear have more properties for map makers to use).

After their time is up they go on being bears and continue to wear the armor made for them-only retrievable by renting them again or killing them.
