Yes. We were trying it back on alpha too with the same result, we're both on beta now and there's no difference. Ports are forwarded and everything.

Since Alpha I've been hosting a server so I can play with a friend of mine, but every time he joins it my connection to the internet dies. I have no other problems with minecraft; framerate is good, I can connect to other servers, but then there's that. I can't connect to his server when he hosts one either. Any tips or suggestions would be most appreciated, thank you.

I have the same problem, except after he gets disconnected I lose my connection to the internet and either have to restart my computer or reset the modem. I've seen this posted back in the alpha forums without a fix and the release of the beta has made no difference on the issue. Does anybody know what could be wrong? Maybe there's something on my end that I'm overlooking, and if so I would greatly appreciate some advice.

It would appear that your server is outdated. Shame, I was looking forward to joining it after reading that brief paragraph you had typed up.
